Ryanair Says Boeing Aircraft Undergo 48-Hour Quality Inspection After Delivery

- Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary says that when his airline receives new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, it takes 48 hours to inspect them before putting them into service. In the process of inspecting these jets, some unfortunate things have been discovered. O’Leary has been quite vocal about Boeing’s quality lapses, saying in January that Boeing needed to improve its quality control significantly.

The fact that Ryanair discovers problems with brand new aircraft indicates that Boeing actually didn't inspect the aircraft prior to delivery. That is pretty scary.
Indeed!
I feel like lengthy quality inspections of newly-delivered aircraft should have been the norm for every carrier, even before these Boeing mishaps of late.
Your completely right
They should be done sure but they shouldn't be finding anything
They are. Most just aren’t vocal about it. Airlines like Qatar even outright refused to accept planes from certain Boeing factories due to constant quality issues
💯
@@d.b.cooper1The paint flaking issues on those were discovered far later though, they only develop with age
Ryanair is just working hard to try and proove they're safe and make us safe when traveling with Ryanair.
They were already safe before but now their trying to be even safer
@@filledwithvariousknowledge2747 🤣
Well, they are safe. Like every other EU airline. Because it’s not the rules they make up themselves, but EASA’s.

I hope they returned wrench to the Boeing.
Then Boeing pilots must come and pick them up. I assume no european pilot would fly them back if errors are found
And discounts on future orders no doubt.
After charging baggage fee to the technician who owned it. LOL
I would imagine that every single airline conducts inspections of newly delivered aircraft before putting them into service. Does anyone think this is unique to Ryanair?
Most go right into service right after the delivery ceremony.. so not all airlines do this..
Your correct and any airline that does this is considered safe unless EU blacklisted
@@chaoszombie9995 the inspections usually take place before the official delivery. Ik southwest does inspections but every airline should
Michael O'Leary is the best at getting discounts :)
Ryanair: The planes must be 100% perfect...The pilots no need to be...
With 182,000,000 passengers in 2023 Ryanair take safety very seriously, they take plenty of stick/criticism in the UK but they have to be doing something right.
Sensible decision though to check these new aircraft before they are put in to service
Well done Ryanair.
Ryanair trying to justify why it buys 737 MAX airplanes, and the usual crook trying to get more discounts.
Boeing and Ikea should merge, that way "you" assemble it piece by piece.
I’m in doubt that every error can be found! Many vital construction spots are probably hidden and can’t be inspected.
and another armchair engineer has spoken....
@@PakaBubiis he wrong?
Trust, but verify.
Famous last words. Easier said than done. Airlines equally pursue or fours like Boeing . Knowing o’Leary only reason they even do checks is to spot issues for future discounts
Good point
Yes, O'Leary did the Right thing is to inspect the aircraft b4 putting planes into service...
Subscribed!!!
they did right !
Would they have found the missing door plug bolts?
The Max 8-200 doesn’t have plug doors because of how it’s aimed for low cost airlines where the proper exits are required to enable full exit limit to be used
Tools being left in airplanes isn’t actually common.. but even then.. there are people behind every wrench and every tool.. meaning they probably will miss the tool when they do their final cleaning of the airframe before interior fitting and what not
Who is better, Ryan air or Easy jet 😊

If you wanna live longer, don’t get on any Boeing planes.
If you want to live longer take the train only or stay home
@@filledwithvariousknowledge2747 Airbus is much better .
Only new Boeings like the 737-Max and B787 are having problems. B737-NG, B747, B757, B767 and B777 are all great aircraft’s.
Airbus clown 🤡🐸 spotted
Why every one laugh on ryan air when this airliner never once messed up in almost 40 years of its service.
It appears that Ryanair are betting that they can find the production problems and fix them before putting these a/c into service.
The chips are people's lives and I am not sure I like the odds.
THIS is cute, coming from the man who advocated for airplanes without seats, to "save" the customer money.
Oh dear, someone who took his PR campaign at face value
@@kevinyang4149 Obvious PR but you think RyanAir wouldn't do that if that could?
I find it'd be really hard for Ryanair to go anywhere else with their single type fleet mentality. Things have to go real bad with 737 for them to even consider the options.
They do have some A320's now in Lauda.
It makes you wonder what else has been miss assembled or poor quality in places where inspection is not possible without disassembly.
I really don't trust Boeing and avoid flying on any of their aircraft if possible.
You know what the best option is? Stay home easy
They found tools because passengers are cognizant of the fact that the max may have missing parts.
Passengers are well aware and have decided to travel with tools.
Under the floor?
Any plane could have missing parts. Things will come out about airbus quite soon due to how consistent of being quiet on the media!

Best way for them to get service credits… the more they find something the cheaper they get aircrafts/parts
The fact that they keep buying these crappy airplanes show how much they care about their customers.
This what makes Ryanair so safe
Only 48 hours? Seems low.

Does Michael Oleary fly on his own planes?
He does.

It may also be EASA requirements. I won’t be surprised if they even further straighten further inspections for the new maxes entering the EU skies.
Well done Ryanair
Followed by years of non-destructive landings...

Boeing the New McDonalds
Not trying to defend Boeing but if all new AB planes would be inspected by airlines if flaws would be found .
... Don't think so. Since the QC's and problems are dealt with on the factory line before they deliver.
Not flying with Ryan air again
That's for sure
Ryan air is fixing the planes then using them. I think Ryan air and other max airlines should work with Boeing to get their planes fixed. The same way Boeing and emirates worked together on the 777-300ER
Well enjoy paying more money for very little difference.
