@@CthRage8946 I'm don't know how Reddit's permanent ban works, but changing you DNS wouldn't get around it. You'd probably need something like a VPN.

Stupid Question: Why would you need to change the DNS server ? Advantages ? and how do I know which DNS Server Im currently using if it is set to Automatically.

So what a DNS server does is converts things like URL's to the actual IP address of the website, so if you use a faster DNS server then websites should load faster.
Now when it comes to changing DNS servers it is possible that you might not notice a difference in speed after changing your DNS. However, there's not really any risk with changing your DNS server , as long as the one you change it to is secure and you can always change it back to default if you have any default. By default your computer will use a DNS server provided by your ISP.

When I changed my DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 my connection instantly got worse. There was constant disconnections in my WIFI and was also very unstable when playing games. When searching things up it went from a 15 second wait to a solid 4 minute wait. Can someone plz help me on why this is the case.

Does changing my DNS has any bad effect? Not remembering "who my computer is" on amazon, ebay, paypal, other places i registered? Can it do any damage on my contacts and so on?
did this because Australia is copyrighting some of my favourite sites and i don't want vpn to slow down my internet connection nor do i want to turn it on every time i want to use the sites.
