I was really dissappointed in the way they nerfd the VW. I would rather have seen them adjust the build instead of apply a modifier to power and handling. While adjusting the modifier for power is simple in telemetry for freeplay testing, figuring out the handling nerf is not. I've heard 2%, but how do you get the exact number. There were plenty of options in build to nerf the car.
The golf has been nerfed a bit in this latest patch. Day before the patch I did a 2:10 around Suzuka in qualifying with softs and one lap of fuel. Last night could only do a 2:14 with the same tune. I've noticed slower times on other tracks also
For the cars I've driven, and I haven't gotten to them all yet, but I agree with you pretty much spot on. Didn't realize the Subaru was RWD, I'm not a fan of FWD so it may be my next go. What I do notice is that you're like me. It looks like you avoid the META cars in the categories preferring the challenge of driving a middle-range car to a positive finish.
Great video as the one before this. Could you do in the future videos about setups and how to setup cars in each category and maybe also explaining what to change based on the track?

I'm still not coming off the Levorg, tyre wear is godly leading to Soft stints on the Medium length races, mid corner agility is great for line switching on people, brakes are incredible for dives into corners too. Forza need to release another RWD option, where on earth is ANY BMW tourer? Ez fix for the whole class? Ballast up the Golf, 80-100kg will drop it in line, maybe 30-50 for the Lynk and Audi.
I'm a Levorg driver pretty much exclusively, It really needs a bit more horsepower to take it up to the rest of the cars. It's strengths are only useful in edge cases, usually you get stuck behind faster cars driving slowly. The levorg looses about 0.5 even against the Audi post Golf nerf.
I'm loving your Forza videos man! This is super helpful. Could you do a couple videos explaining the different "types" of tracks? Im brand new to Sim racing and trying to learn as much as i can about it
Lynk & Co driver here, I love it. I have driven it a lot and with a good setup, I'm able to challenge Audis But it has a tendency to oversteer mid corner
Your setup for qualifier series it's absolutely good, i can do a 1.04.5 in hakkone! I have not been able to configure the civic to do your time, in the tourism series your setup allows me to achieve positions from tenth to third, how have you done in that series with the civic and your setup for qualifier?

Does the job, it's just not as good." META is there for a reason, in any game that has competitive aspects there will always be a META! That's why it's called (M)ost (E)ffective (T)actic (A)vailable. And calling out players for using META cars, instead of calling out the developer for being lazy and not nerfing it, is a quite wild take.

I dont have a favourite to drive, i just pick one and use it till lvl50 then start using a different one. Ive only got the golf and astra left to do. I think ive levelled all the gt cars i dont like how all the touring cars are fwd
Maxed out all of them till the focus (which is the next one) and the levorg and what I can say I don’t like the Hyundai and the Lynk. I mean what’s the point seeing the wheel when I use Cockpit without the wheel at the lynk also it feels not good for my style of driving. The best for me so far are the Audi, the Honda and of course the Golf. Haven’t driven the Golf since the update but I think it’s still toptier.
RS3 is gonna be OP now that the golf got nerfed, the top speed and acceleration of that thing is unmatched now, and I gotta be honest, I think the golf got nerfed too hard, it was the worst on tyres by a mile now that is so much slower nobodys going to use it like the subaru, but hopefully we'll see more car variety on podiums now
Also the mediums are surprisingly okay even if it’s wet, had a weird race that started raining and the mediums kept pace till I swapped to wets but then those died lol
The Ford is nowhere near the Lynk or Audi, and it's down on power. It definitely belongs in Decent with the others. The only reason the Levorg is in Decent is because of the races I mentioned where it's the best car period. Otherwise, it would be a Weaker pick. The Focus is better on pace with all else equal, but it doesn't have any standout tracks like the Levorg Like I said, the cars in Decent are all very close, and they can all race each other fairly closely. There has to be a ranking at the end of the day though, and this is pretty much it for now

Is there a good beginner car that's almost pick up and play in the touring class? Something I can learn with, without being a nuisance on the track to other drivers.
Very good players will use the Lynk and often beat both of those, the Lynk is a beast if you have a good setup and solid lines in the track I don’t play touring as much but usually use it in case I play
@@vassilihk it’s a 1:32/1:33/1:34 lap car depending on your pace and weather that race lap car at maple valley the easiest car there for once is the Audi but if you can drive the wheels off the Lynk it’ll pull those times there
@@vassilihk Virginia is a really tough track I never done it in touring, only GT and rivals cars of S/R class Figured that Lynk would be good there I may try it tonight before vir is out of the layout in touring
My touring car of choice is the Lynk and have no trouble with the golf users 99% of players using them have the worst lines I’ve ever seen For certain tracks like Le Mans & Suzuka I’ll use the Subaru for it’s good tire wear, it’s not easy to win on it but I’ve managed it a few times.
Suzuka is the Levorgs worst track IMO, and I have pretty much exclusive experience in the Levorg, you just get dragged on the overpass straight and pit straight, but you are often able to run the S Curves better than most.
@@GreazedPanther I forgot to add Suzuka east not Suzuka full circuit So when it is in the layout I can qualify there around 52s ish on the Levorgs, and then consistently do 53s after lap 1, turn 1 even with pole will be a struggle mainly because we never know how it can go (I got sent to w once) but assuming you can manage turn 1 and start pulling right away even if you lose let’s say 2 positions as long as you’re in slipstream range the last lap you’ve free tires compared to the others to easy win
@@Gwayneeee Its definitely a winner on the S Curves as I said, and that is the East track. It's generally best in corners because you don't have to slow if you misjudge the corner you can brake tap and accelerate more to rotate it, just impossible in the FF cars. Tighter corners and flowing curves is where it shines, rotation is everything and this extends to any class, its no surprise the MR and RR Porsches in GT are very solid in general, with the Viper and M8 just having massive tyres to keep up. Also, underrated value, it's the best in the wet by a mile IMO.
@@GreazedPanther The viper gets a lot of speed out of corner exits making it always a solid choice of course, I personally use it for a few tracks like lime rock, but my go to in GT is the NSX once setup properly is a beast

Not surprising that the cars you need to buy with money are OP, like the Volkswagen in touring class or Audi in GT class, pretty clearly P2W.

Would be cool to see a tier list for the classes as well. Obviously a condensed version as there are so many cars that can go into each class.

Levorg is strong in the wet and on tire wear but I wish it had maybe 15-20 more horsepower, really not much to get it on par

I always judge cars with a setup. There's no point in comparing stock cars because some cars gain more than others from a good setup

I dont even play touring because half the lobby uses the golf, and the other half uses the audi. See way more variety in GT.

um.. I am also impressed by its low speed corner manoeuvrability. It also performs very well in VIR, especially T14, T17 and T18 in Grand East Course

the subaru is so fucking slow like 20kph slower then the audi ,so any track with a straight cant use it
The Levorg is on the slower end, but you're greatly exaggerating the straight line speed difference
