For this list, we’ll be primarily concentrating on key story and event moments, as we already have a list for the greatest Legend of Zelda Boss Battles. We’re ranking these moments based on their impact on the series, memorability, and of course our own personal picks.

Honorable Mention: King Zora moving aside from Ocarina of Time
Ismael Sanchez just a little bit more
That #1 for me
LMFAO
Lol
BEST
MOMENT
EVER
How about when Link waves goodbye to his grandmother as he departs for his journey in Wind Waker?
Yes!!! That was when you really began your adventure!
I think the theme here is more, like, "wow" moments. That's more of a heartwarming scene. I guess the leaving the kokiri forest scene was the same though, who knows?
I cried when granny got sick but then i gave her a fairy and healed her then i was happy again
@@dontbegaybegae6721 "You're all saving the world and here I am whining. I'll better make some soup for you :)"
...I didn't deserve you, grandma :'c
@@dontbegaybegae6721 i rejoiced when granny got sick.. but then i healed her with a fairy and got depressed.
My absolute favorite LoZ moment was Zelda sacrificing her essence in order to save Midna in Twilight Princess. That very sequence also has my favorite Legend of Zelda song, Midna's Lament.
+Covert Commando it isn't overrated
***** overrated or not, that moment was so beautiful and emotional, because your friend, Midna, is dying, and you hear that music, you see it begans to rain,.... I just love it
spoiler alert muthchucka...I didn't make it that far
My apologies. Noting that the game is hitting it's 10 year mark this November, I simply assumed.
Good choice. Midna is still my favorite Zelda character, even more so after I played the remaster.
Darunia's dance was fucking lit
ikr
It was pretty dumb lol
@@derpy9715 *says the fortnite youtuber*
Hell yeah brother✌✌✌🤙🤙🤘🤘
*hot!* What a hot beat !
Every single Twilight Princess cutscene was just PERFECT
I agree
Not really. The game never bothers to explain why the Goblins attacked Link's village in the intro cutscene, or why the monsters even bothered kidnapping the children and Link's girlfriend if they were simply dropped off at Kakariko village soon afterward. It's a big plot hole in the game.
@@ultraspinalki11 but it is a good game tho
@@justanibbawithaminigun9001 Over the years, I've seen more fans talk about its flaws than its positives (similar to Skyward Sword but not as bad). My biggest gripe is its story, such as the previously mentioned plothole and the revelation that Zant was a man-child. It was a fun game, but it's one of the very few Zelda games I've only played once in its entirety.
Replaying TP, I actually found it more corny than epic. Windwaker was better at being dramatic since it's overall light-heartedness helps contrast with the more serious moments. Nothing feels corny or too try hard.
What about the moment where Zelda reveals herself as the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia then seals herself in a crystal for a 1000 years from Skyward Sword?
If anything, that scene definitely deserved a spot or even a memorable mention just for the feels.
Agreed it truly is a perfect scene
welp i didnt play skyward sword but the video of Oot vs AlttP sure made me think it sucks, is it actually good? most people who played it often tell me that It is the worst in the entire series
+Drasil Rial because they were too lazy to swing their arms. They missed out on a great game
most people's problems with it are the controls and linearity of it. the story imo is one of the best of the entire series. the dungeons are really fun and good too, y'know if you can get used to the motion controls
OMG you're so right!
Sheikh revealing herself as zelda? No?
maybe in top 10 TLOZ Ocarine of time moments :P
seriously, this game is so epic and it has a ton of great moments :)
Great moment indeed
Spoiler much :(
+maes Hughes The game is 18 years old. The statute of limitations on spoilers has expired.
It's Sheik. Sheikah is the name of the tribe
5:01 On point impression.
Majora's Mask will always be the creepiest game i will ever play
Majora's mask? Creepy? I don't think so, the game talks about friendship so I find it beautiful
@@reviandelumiel2833 i say that majora's mask is just more insightful and sorrowful. ocarina of time however would be creepier imo with some of the creatures like redeads and maybe even poes.
@@5kulld but ReDeads and poes appear in both games xD
@@reviandelumiel2833 i know but redeads were introduced in ocarina of time.
@@5kulld anyway, I don't find them scary but handsome xD
number 1 should have been EVERY MASTER SWORD LIFTING MOMENT
Yesssss
Especially with the music that plays during the cutscene.
HELL YEAH I AGREE
Agree
To me the opening of the Sacred Door in the Temple of Time is more memorable because it's unique and can only happen once per game.
Midna Farewell was a scene beyond words, worthy final of a Zelda game, and until today one still wants to know what where those words she couldn't pronounce to Link
I hope that she returne in BOTW 2 because we can see the Twilight Mirror in BOTW 1,and also I hope that Link remember her
@@jotarokujo4727 i mean she probably won't, but we know for sure that link will not remember her as link from botw is a whole different person
I love you were her words.
@@jotarokujo4727 Well sadly she didn't but with the wolf link amiibo you can get a twilight mirror pattern for the paraglider which I'm currently using
Zelda and Link talking in the sky at the end of OoT is one of my favourite moments.
Personally like the moment in Majora's Mask when you remember the Song of Time, and you remember Zelda for a minute.
Majora's Mask is the best. My favourite moment is flipping Stone Tower Temple upside down. Blew my mind when I was 10.
You were made it to the stone tower temple when you were 10! Kudos, I could barely do it as an adult.
The high pitched “listen” at 5:02 was hilarious. XD
The moment in Majoras Mask when you use the song of healing to bring the dad and daughter back together in Ikana Valley. Beautiful moment.
Umm, you forgot the horseback battle in Twilight Princess (the battle on the bridge of eldin)
never played TP but if its a boss battle they explain that is in another list
They didn't forget it. It's part of "Link Rescues Colin" they just didn't happen to show that segment of the fight.
Luke Wilson I know they didn't "forget" lol,
I hated the horseback battles in the game.
You could make a whole list of just epic moments from TP
The fight on the bridge of eldin
Zelda's sacrifice
The Master Sword
just to name a few... so epic
THE TITLE! EVEN THE FREAKING TITLE SCREEN!
So...Skyward Sword is the first game in the chronology and the most cinematic, but not one moment from that game is worthy of being in the top ten? That's frankly unbelievable.
#1 Completing the Song of the Hero in Skyward Sword.... that part has so much emotional impact that gets my every time. It just encompasses everything Zelda is about and it's just such a magical moment.
#2 Link and Zelda's Duet in Spirit Tracks. This game is one of the few Zelda games that actually make you feel hopeless toward the end. The end of the world is near, you know if you fail your final battle all is lost, and you get a general sense of fear. But then, after keeping the Demon King Malladus's magic projectiles away from Zelda for a while, she asks you to take out your Spirit Flute and do a duet with her. You play a song with her as a last ditch effort and you just feel floods of emotion pouring from that song. It feels like a final effort to keep the Demon King at bay and as you're playing the song, you just grasp onto that small hope that this duet you are playing with Zelda will somehow aid in defeating this mighty evil. It's the most emotionally-driven moment in a Zelda game ever and you feel it all. Forget it, this one is actually #1. Song of the Hero can be #2
My favorite moment... is defeating Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time, his demise and the final ending are spectacular!
Honestly, my favorite moment was Skyward Sword's ending. I don't know why, but even though I had played OoT before it, Skyward Sword just resonated more with me.
meh, midna's farewell was better executed. after midna's growth as character, she going back to twiligth realm after breaking the mirror of twiligth still has a impact on my soul
Man, I never forget the first time i drew the Master Sword in Ooc and being terrified when I saw the castle town in ruins. I need to replay this game
Wtf you guys forgot the Zelda moment in Zelda Cdi where the king offers you lamp oil, rope, and bombs! Smh
Number 1 should just be every zelda cdi cutscene.
Well EXCUSE ME princess.
Morshu?
MA BOI!
+Javier Hernández
THIS PEACE
I swear to God #1 is what I had in mind. Also, "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this.".
One of the best moments for me was when Link saves Impa and Zelda's ass in Skyward Sword's Temple of Time.
And you had the option of saying "Am I late?" Savage 😂
+Awesomekid120 I always choose that one
Agreed
Impa: No, you're right on time.
Yeah that was awesome
I think the scene where zelda throws the ocarina definitely should have been on here. i it really conveys the message that you are on your own with this journey
Agreed
When Link and Zelda hold hands at the end of Spirit Tracks will forever be one of my favorite moments in LoZ.
Zelda falling asleep in Skyward Sword. Link's distraught face at seeing her seals it
You could probably make a top 10 moments from every single game, and this list is trying to narrow down the entire series?
Damn.. lol
We need to make that a thing! Hearing the top 10 from each game would be epic as hell!!
Chuck Knoernschild It would. :)
yeah but a top ten cod list or something would just be the same clip
LikeABoski We were talking about all the zelda games, not anything else. lol
Yeah, they should have made a series like they did with music albums of each decade then an overall one.
YESSSS Zelda is amazing
yassssss
Yup!
Is more than amazing
+Rodrigo true
I like the scene in Skyward Sword where Ghirahim becomes Demise's sword
Watch Mojo really haven't thought this through... When Sheik reveals her true identity should have been something also
They should have had the beginning of majora's mask on here.
1. When you realize the main character is named Link and not Zelda.
ikr
True
huh? only people that never played the game before might make that mistake but if you play any Zelda games you would know
lol
Only if you are a n00b
I would also put into an honorable mention meeting the mask salesman, as that guy was well…. interesting...
You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?
The Triforce is restored, Link Between Worlds. Was one of my favorite moments
This whole list could've just been moments from Twilight Princess, every single moment in that game is memorable and iconic, Link's Chat with Rusl, Link's Wolf Transformation, Meeting Midna, Meeting Zelda, The Fight with King Bulbin, Link's Vision, Midna's Lament, Ilia's Memory, Ganondorf's Execution, Midna's Backstory, Zant's Backstory, Zant's Death, The Final Battle between Link and Ganondorf, every single moment in that game is iconic.
i think that cut scene from OoT when ganon comes racing out of hyrule with zelda in the pouring rain is pretty awesome
Yeah it made me shit my pants the first time I saw that scene
Bro by far the best moment in Zelda history these people are apparently too young for Oot
To be honest, I consider the Lifting the Master Sword moment better in Twilight Princess than it was in Ocarina of Time.
Umm, yeah no
I've seen both and Ocarina of Time is better
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this list. Great list as usual ;) You guys should make more Zelda lists :)
I am sure this top 10 will need an update when Breath of the Wild is out.
I'm so exited for that game!!!!!
*Rust
The Hype is real!
blitzskitz Come on. There were some nice stuff in skyward sword.
I know right? Seriously, their most common complaint is mostly the controls for the game, when it and everything else is fine if not great in that game. To me Fi's farewell hit me a little more harder than Midna's, but mostly because Fi's theme was great. Besides, probably say the best moment in the game was when you enter the garden to the Goddess Statue and Zelda was playing Ballad of the Goddess.
Still the best game series of all time. I own every game lol
+Covert Commando Zelda and Metroid are very close for me, definitely my two favorite videogame franchises of all time, but Zelda takes it due to growing up with it. I didn't play my first Metroid until I was maybe thirteen. Fusion and Prime at the same time.
The ending of Ocarina of Time? Always brings a tear to my eye, from Zelda sending him to Link meeting Zelda for the first time again
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SOO LONG
Interesting choices and a lot off tear jerkers. Brings back memories.
what I think is funny is how people want to dislike a video within 5 minuets of it being on RUclips. people as soon as they see the video air on your channel they automatically dislike it without watching it. how can people be so caddy.
amen brother
Like you, others have their opinions and justifications for doing things. Maybe they thought, "Why provoke favouritism? All moments in Zelda were great". We don't know. Thus we shouldn't be quick to judge people 5 mins after they've acted on something.
"We're ranking these moments based on the inmpact on the series[...]"
But not the creation of the Master sword, even in honorable mentions...
Finally what I've been waiting for
Favorite moment Discovering Hyrule Castle in Wind Weaker. That game was awesome.
Wait, what about midnas lament? I still remember that happening.
I remember getting the master sword and I was like "cool!"
But then Ganondorf came along and I was like "well, crap"
Jacob Woodson same xd
this is the top ten I have been waiting for
Great list.
Uses Wind Waker HD footage but not Twilight Princess HD footage. And uses Majora's Mask 3D footage and not Ocarina of Time 3D. Seems legit.
not tracking
Lol
And once again the minish cap don't get any recognition that's a damn shame out of all the Zelda games smfh
IKR? Minish Cap has been one of my favorite Zelda games ever since childhood, and I basically never hear it mentioned by any channel I watch. It's a damn shame.
Yea it's like one the most underrated zelda game in which I don't think it is
lets face it.......BEN DROWNED
Minish Cap could be my favorite 2D Zelda if it wasn't for the fucking Figurines Sidequest. Jesus H. Christ, hours of my life just pulling a fucking lever hundreds of times
Honestly I never really focus on the figurines side quest
great picks guys
I was just looking in Zelda stuffs.. And then u uploaded this!
Where's Midna's Lament? That by far was the most memorable moment in Zelda for me. To have someone dying right next to you... it was truly emotional moment in my childhood. Not even an honorable mention? Smh... but at least Midna's departure made it.
What about the forging of the master sword from the goddess sword in skyward sword
ive been waiting for this list lol
Awsome...this is also my favourite moment!
Ahhhhhhh, yaaaaaas, I'm biased, I'm so happy Oot got three spots!
It's the best one. It truly deserved to own this list.
+Michelle DiPalo Hah! After playing almost all of them, Link to the Past is the best. Ocarina of time is nothing but frustrating and overated.
Your opinion, not everyone's. For me OoT gave me an adventure that was second to none in pop culture growing up.
Hydro is right though, it's nothing if not EXTREMELY overrated.
it's the fave ughhhhh, love it, 10/10
1: Breath of the Wild, Zelda's freedom from the Castle.
1:the divine beasts use their giant lazers on ganon
Nah that was lame as hell
This list is fairly spot on. The many mentions are good as well. Only things I also would have included is Zelda being Sheik all along and the Sages of Old making music with the new sages in Wind Waker.
This was actually a pretty good list!
Final hours should be number one.
Also, where is farewell Hyrule king and the moment when Vaati out smarts link in Minish Cap?
Lifting the master sword was way better in Twilight Princess and Wind Waker
This list is legendary
I admit, my heart pounds at seeing the Majora's Mask final hours sequence, even afterward in videos like this. It's so well done.
What about Impa leaving in Skyward Sword?! That hit my heart...
Ok fine, ill watch this one.
Door of Time opening will always be the greatest moment for me. I remember when I was a kid playing OoT, I thought that the Temple of Time will be the last part of the game and I would just fight Ganondorf. You can't even imagine the feeling I got when i realised that the adventure was just beginning...
Zelda and Link's duet at the end of Spirit Tracks was pretty cool. Also seeing the Tower of Spirits fully restored is awesome.
OMG number five is giving me sad flashbacks
Midna.........😢😢😢😢😢😢
I think one of da best is when you beat king bulbin in tw for the first time and epona rears up that's just sick.
I loved that two
This series of games gives me huge feels!
The forging of the Goddess Sword into the True Master Sword in Skyward Sword. I love those Sacred Flames cutscenes and the part with Zelda's blessing
What about the reveal that Shiek is Zelda!
when i first played that game, I almost lost my shit at that moment! it was so cool XD
Eh, if you really paid attention, it wasn't that hard to figure out.
"these events are what make this series, legendary"
*HA*
Zelda revealing herself as sheik in oot was definitely one of the best moments for me, the music and everything hit hard when first playing it lol
YASSS! I love The Legend Of Zelda!!! :D This video brings back memories!
Who else cried when Minda died in Twilight Princess?
when dan finds out sheik is zelda
Lovee warchin this vid at my work....nite before going home✌😁😎kinda relaxx
One of the first list I actually agree with Mojo. Good job guys. Only gripe is I would have put the pulling of the master sword in Link to the Past master sword pull too.
What about "Skyward Sword" Link and Zelda goodbye while she was crystalized?
Hollywood, why haven't you made this masterful series into a movie franchise yet?
it's probably be terrible. I wouldn't want them to ruin a great video game series with a bad movie ,
Mainly because of whoever owns the rights not allowing it...
+Alo Duque Tru
Has there been a video game movie that is actually great? Serious question.
There are probably good anime ones, and FF7 comes to mind but I've never actually seen it so I can't say if it's good or not. I don't think there are any good live action ones.
17 years later and those final hours in Majoras Mask STILL send chills down my spine
One of my favorite parts was finding out that Tetra was Princess Zelda.
Ohh come on darunia dance is the best
100%
"Oot is overrated shit" -Everyone in this comment section.
Nothing worse than LoZ hipsters. "Yeah but the Minish Cap had such fleshed out characters and the dungeons where masterfully done." *adjusts fedora*
OoT is not overrated one bit. I agree there are better games out there and possibly even better Zelda games, but the influence OoT had on the franchise and the entire industry is undoubtedly highter than any other 3D game ever had. It revolutionized gaming and implemented many key gameplay elements we take for granted today. For that alone, it deserves all the credit it received. And it's still a pretty damn great game, even 18 years after it's release.
I like Oot very much.
It had some flaws but you have to mention that it is an old game and the first 3d zelda. So Nintendo was trying something new.
Agreed.
Peter1x2
Ocarina of Time has it's charms and faults, just like every other Zelda game.
I would go gay for you best comment I’ve ever read as I stare at my oot poster but seriously
well done
I will for ever cherish this game in my heart. It has always found a way like in Ocarina of Time to warp me back to my childhood... I miss playing it man
Rise your hands if you love Navi :D/
I have that set to my phone's alert tone, so whenever I get a text, it goes "Hey, LISTEN!!!".
🙌🏻
GabrielusPrime me too lol
Me
Haha my notification tone
If 1 is from OoT, I wouldn't be surprised considering watchmojo probably never playing any other games in LoZ
*played
+EliteSmashter Well, what do you know...
painfully predictable
I thought the exact same thing the second I saw the video title.
+Viktor Hagman I think you misread op
he said oot not windwaker
The goron king dancing his heart out. Its one of my favorites
DUDE, DARUNIA'S DANCE WAS THE FUNNIEST THING IVE EVER SEEN,i got zelda oot on the nintendo 64 like 3 months ago,im not even advanced that much in the story but everytime i go back and watch darunia's dance
Nothing from Skyward Sword ? Seriously ?
Should have been atleast 1 of these: Groose jumping with link down to the surface, Link saving Zelda and Impa at the portal of time, learning a new song from FI
Oh gosh, yes, totally Groose jumping down with Link to the surface, that was obviously the most funniest thing I've ever seen since Wind Waker with Link blasting off to the Goddess Tower.
Skyward Sword was, realistically, an exceptionally shit LOZ game anyway tbh.
Far from it, if anything. it's one of the better ones. The story is alot stronger than alot of older zelda games. The art of the world and expressions of the characters were great. the music was 10/10 and defenitally had a lot of moments. only complains really that the motion controls are kinda shit sometimes and Fi's explanations.
Mikkel And the linear-ness. That fkn game had soul but no world.
Majoras Mask>Ocarina Of Time
Wind waker>Majoras mask> Ocarina of time
Yeah but ocarina made many games of today
+Jonas Seorum Ocarina > Majora > Link to the past > wind waker > twilight > minish cap > Skyward sword
Majora's Mask >>>>>>> Twilight Princess
agreed
Best moment:
“I wonder what’s for dinner?”
So many memorable moments to choose from...
