- I’m so excited to share how I’m using NOTION for all of my HB90 Goals and tracking my projects and tasks throughout the quarter. A longer video today, but I wanted to share exactly how I set this up in a full tutorial that I hope will make it easier for you to setup for yourself.

Yes, been using it for a while for long-term planning, after seeing you talk about your writing journal a couple of years ago
I tried and got completely overwhelmed by the learning curve and went back to my paper planner. But after watching your walkthrough, I’m excited to try again! You are so gifted at making scaling mountains achievable for the rest of us. 🥰
I do love it -- I really enjoy seeing how others use Notion! At 31:30, a quick tip -- if you're going to copy a task multiple times, you can click the "handle" (six dots visible to the left of the row when your mouse is over it), then press CTRL+D (or ⌘+D on Mac). It's short for "duplicate", and will automatically make a copy right below the original. I, too, like to have repeating tasks, but I'm way too lazy to create all the individual rows, so this method is perfect for people like me. 😅
If you don't want the duplicates exactly next to the original, you can also try this:
• Click the "handle" (the 6 dots) visible to the left of the row when you hover
• With the row highlighted, press CTRL+X to move or CTRL+C to copy (⌘+X or ⌘+C on Mac)
• Click the place where you'd like to move it to or copy it, and press CTRL+V (⌘+V on Mac)
You are not going to believe that just a few hours ago I was nearly in tears, struggling to organise my goals in Notion. And then my favourite channel has just the help I need! I'm launching a new pen name and it's a bit overwhelming.

I've not ever thought about needing to use Notion but you explained it so thoroughly that I think I should start using it. You truly are an amazing instructor!
I've been putting everything in my Google calendar, so I wasn't sure I wanted to put things in Notion. But just today I learned you can link the Google calendar and Notion! To be able to put these two things together would be great for me. Now I just need to find the time to figure the nitty gritty out and put it into practice.

Thanks for this video, Sarra. It was so helpful. I watched with my computer on my lap and got Notion set up by pausing or backing up and watching again. Instead of goals, I just put in 3 projects and then the attached tasks. And for the part I brought over to my main page, I sorted by status (Doing) instead of date. It's been working so well since then!

Great walkthrough! Thanks for the reminder that Notion can be as simple or as fancy as we need. By the way, to create a template, just make a blank version of your database and dashboard. Then, use the Share link at the top right of the page. You'll see an option to share read-only to the web and to allow duplication as a template. The web link generated is what you'd give any interested people. Hope that helps :)

Love this - I've been using the Projects & Tasks template, but after watching this I decided to make my own version that was more HB90-oriented 😀 BTW, there is a quick way to clone table rows - click on the block of six dots to the left of the row to get the popup menu, then hit Cmd-D as many times as you like!
I just started the Q2 bootcamp and have been looking for a digital Kanban board option. I thought Notion would work but feared the steep learning curve . . . until your video. This was amazing. I'm up and running now. Thanks a million and yes, to a template although learning how to do it from scratch is probably better (for me, at least.)
I would absolutely LOVE an HB90 template for Notion! Even watching this video is a little overwhelming, simply because of the number of options Notion offers to begin with, but it would be soooo helpful to have a good place to start. Thank you for all that you do Sarra!

Thanks so much for this! I followed your instructions and set up my own dashboard. I also managed to set up filters to show all tasks for one project which I'm sure I'll find useful to see my progress through that project. One thing I found when I was clicking around in the database is that you can duplicate rows (e.g. for your Write 3000 words line). Click the box to select the whole row in the database (the select box not the checkbox you created) and then click the three dots icon to duplicate. You can duplicate multiple rows by selecting several at once and then duplicating.
I used a simIlar process in Notion for Q4 last year. Mine was much simpler. Just the three goals and a kanban for each. It made it so easy to know my tasks on the go.
I really need to stay off of digital though. It’s a balance. I may do a kanban in my planner this next quarter and have it in notion. We’ll see! 🤷🏼♀️

That was brilliant :) I had managed to set up the Dashboard idea but hadn't manged the data base part - I will need to watch it a few times - but I think I got this now. The only thing I'm not sure about is if you /we go to all this trouble to populate the HB90 style tasks etc/ quarter and something somewhere breaks where does Notion store the data - especially if part way through a quarter and those 'Done' %ages are mounting it could be pretty frustrating and not replaceable unless the good old paper copy is kept - I'm really enjoying both - as I suspect most people will - but seeing that huge long task list Iwouldn't be too keen to enter all that twice if it got lost. I do use it on my phone I notice . I also use the paid for version as it did not like me uploading my own photos to use as headers etc or storage - but it is definitely worth it. Thank you so much for putting this together for us.
From what I can tell, there's no internal backup in Notion. If you accidentally delete it, it's just gone. It's probably the only part that scares me about it, honestly! I do have all my goals and projects and tasks in my actual HB90 planner, too, though, but I haven't been checking them off in there.

You have no idea how much I needed this right now. I feel like I drowning in notion most of the time.
Love this video so much! I had created an HB90 database in notion already, but I was using the tag option instead of select. This way seems much better! Thank you! Also, wanted to share a tip to make it easier. When you're in the spreadsheet view, if you look at the bottom of a single box, there is a tiny circle. If you hover over that, it will give you the option to drag vertically to populate the same value in the boxes below as far as you drag. This way you can drag Goal 1 down instead of retyping it one hundred times :) Hope this helps!
Unless I'm confused, that's how I did it in the video! I always drag down to repeat, but maybe you mean something different? Thanks for the tip!

You can use ctrl + D (or command + D) to duplicate a row in a database so you don't have to use the 'new' button
