Dude that's so cool! I don't have a 280zx yet ( I'm only 18 :/ ), But I hope to save and get one soon to work on. Is there any chance you still have the models for the 3D printed parts you made? I love the look of that gage set up and think it would look perfect with the 80's hi-tech/cyberpunk look I would want to go for on the interior. Either way great job man, it looks so freaking amazing :)
Thanks! It's not perfect but I like it and needed to move onto something else. Before you buy one you can check out the rust repair videos in the playlist to see several of the common rust spots. THESE CARS RUST! I got in the deep end on this one and had to put it to the side for a few years. Not an expert by any means but I'd be happy to share about my experience with it. If you get to the point of doing gauges and if I can still print them, I can print a set and mail them. The learning curve is steep on these cars, but if you are in the hobby for the act of working, these cars provide no shortage of work! lol Thanks again!
Good luck man. I've had 8 z cars now and currently own an 83 turbo 2+2 and an 81 coupe. All I can say is, any issue you ever have with your car is a lose ground, bad vacuum or a bad connection lol. Mechanically these cars are pretty solid. Enjoy your z and don't over think when it stop running 😂
Howdy! I am mostly done with my LS Swap for my 1981 Datsun 280zx and I want to mimic what you did with your gauges, are the gauges you bought the ones for the 70-78 Datsun? I also saw you're willing to mail the parts you 3D printed?
Congrats on being mostly done! I hope to be there someday lol. I'm not aware of any specific gauge sets for Z's like the one you mention. I bought the universal green bar graph set from Intellitronix which included the gauges, black acrylic, and most of the hardware. This project was a bit of an undertaking and there are definitely improvements that can be made over how I did it. The fitment and gauge centering is also not fantastic. If the files and everything are good, I can try printing another set. I'll let you know how that goes
Sorry, I didn't get a notification you had replied. Shoot me an email at dreamteampro.e@gmail.com and I'll give you some more info on the prints to make sure they are what you want. I do have a set printed

That’s a hella good job. Better than any I’ve seen. I need to learn how to 3d print.
Thanks! The 3D printer definitely opens some doors

@@clownbutt55 By the end of this I hope it will be pretty solid. I am going to put a GM drivetrain in it so it will have simplicity going for it
@@PracticallyStock make sure to video along the way! Sounds fun
Awesome!
