Thanks !!! This is good info. My 83 turbo has this same AC system. Continues to work fine (for now). It's my 82 non turbo with issues. It came with a different "Auto Temp Control" system. Hasn't worked right for 40 years. Hoping I can apply this modification. Impossible to drive without AC here in Arizona 😎 . Thanks again.
Thanks for the feedback. This project was definitely a test of patience but I don't know what other option there is. There is for sure a simpler solution than what I came up with. Curious if just push/pull knobs are easier to implement. Make sure you read up on freon conversions if you go that route. Best of Luck and hope you get some AC before summer!
