    I like this format! Here's a question for the backlog. What did Vendrick steal from the Giants? And why did he need anything in the first place?

    • @insertedgynamehere___969

      My guess is it was most likely the giants kinship.
      And his wife convinced him to invade the giants.
      Not sure why she would want the giants kinship though (beyond being power hungry, i mean).

    What are your thoughts on spiral, crucible and snake themes in Elden Ring? All Dlc is about spiral, Mesmer has a snake in him and wields flame, and in base game godskins wield flame, have snake-like features and their weapons are spiral-like.

    For dark firelink shrine:
    I don't think "when" is a question that can be answered.
    Light is time according to the repair spell item description.
    Dark firelink has no light ergo no time (hence the past implications and present implications)

    On the unused ceremony system in DS3, Lance McDonald said that there was a "very interesting aspect" that he would elaborate on in a follow up video, but he never did. Any idea what it was? Maybe making a video about it would've violated some NDA?

      Not a clue. I know parts of Lothric Castle seemed to change physically during the ceremony, so maybe other maps did that too, but he could have meant something else.

    Question for the backlog!
    Who is Messmer’s father?
    I’m unconvinced by the general comsensus that it’s Radagon because of the red hair, because Melina has brown hair and is also explicitly Messmer’s sister, and neither Marika nor Radagon has brown hair.

    • @insertedgynamehere___969
      @insertedgynamehere___969 8 дней назад

      Well, Mesmers cursed just like Malenia and Miquella.
      Which further supports the marika Radagon being his father.
      And doesnt Melina have strawberry blond hair? Essentially a mix of blond and red

    • @piotr78

      Melina's hair isn't brown, it's more like a strawberry blonde

    Been waiting on this, can you please touch on the cries, steps, and ringing of the walking mausoleums in the first cutscene when you rise as a tarnished of no renown? Are we Godwyn reborn after the eclipse?

    • @johnfinklestein6910
      @johnfinklestein6910 22 дня назад +1

      There is a youtuber named Zayf the scholar, he has a video where he discusses a japenese youtuber who broke down the intro sounds as well as the mistranslation with the spirit at the church the of Pilgramage.
      While I don't believe we are Godwyn, I do think our tarnish player is a illegitimate child of Marika or the soulless demigod.
      As for the eclipse, that one has my brain go crazy..did the eclipse fail from Radahn halting the stars? Could it be more symbolic? Mayne Renalla and Ralanna represent the two moons..we seen the land of shadows having it's own moon so maybe the sky had two moons originally. I know we wouldn't need two moons for an eclipse but what if it were more metaphorical?
      This is something I wish more people were asking about!!
      Really enjoyed seeing your comment about this and I hope it spreads some awareness

      @@johnfinklestein6910 all of the soulless demigods are born of the golden lineage, we have to be a member of this part of the family. The Japanese do have that mistranslation of bas space tard, while English just says unwanted. I don’t see Marika having an illegitimate children because every child was born of wedlock that we know of. Of course there are others like Godrick and Gostoc/golden sions, he wasn’t married but the sions that follow his example wear crowns. The soulless demigods have no heads and therefore can’t wear a crown like Gostoc. Godwyn is the only character in the game referenced as a prince and Ranni is the only one to be referenced as a princess. With Miq and his sister bother being cursed and unsuitable Ranni was the only clear choice. Her seeing the writing on the wall killed herself and her clearly to be betrothed. The lost prince is GRRM’s favorite trope. So the question remains. Was Rannie the equivalent of Lyanna, while Godwyn was like Robert? A woman seeking out of her arrangements and a man harassed every woman like his Viking father pre marriage. Were we one of Godwyns children? Or him himself reborn? The thing that bothers me the most is Fia’s final dialog when attacked and killed at the end of her quest. “Godwyn, is that you my dear?”

      I mean, to be blunt, Ashen Hollow outright said he didn't understand the story and was just inventing random shit because he felt like it. It's a completely neutral description of his "approach", which comes directly from him. He got hundreds of thousands of views, and we barely got anything, so he clearly had the right idea on some level.

    I actually asked miyazaki where the untended graves were untended to be (back when he used to hang out at the gas station across from my apartment all the time), and he said they they exist "in a parallel dimension up your mothers ass." (I'm assuming he meant the player character's mother's ass, but he just said it was "up for interpretation," and refused to elaborate further). If anyone else had told me that, i would have thought they were just making a distasteful off-color joke, but the look in his eyes when he said it told me he was being absolutely, 100%, dead serious.
    He hasn't been around much lately, because he fell into an alternate dimension behind the gas station dumpster right after shadow of the erdtree released. The last time i saw him he was ranting about how the translators and george rr martin had "ruined (his) masterpiece" to appease the ratings boards. Apparently, his original title for the expansion was "shadow of the turdtree" and the entire thing would take place inside rahdans rotting colon. According to miyazarki, the "scadutree" was originally called the "scat-ew-tree," and was supposed to be a giant tree sculpted entirely from human excrement.
    Because of miyazarkis, largely unknown, scathing hatred of "modern technology," he hand chiseled all of his plans for the game (including every frame of animation), on giant stone slabs, which, according to Miyazaki, were all stolen by george rr martin and destroyed.
    Its a shame that we will probably never get to see miyazakis final "souls" game as he originally intended.

    • @zbmccarter
      @zbmccarter 22 дня назад

      Also, the "madness" meter (currently only featured in certain parts of the dlc, when facing particular enemies), was originally written by Miyazaki to be called the "stank-o-meter," and would fill as you approached the scat-ew-tree (you could decrease your "stank level" by using special febreeze spray items that dropped from "high level" enemies upon defeat, but only if you used a game genie that has been painstakingly restored/ modified to run on current hardware.)
      Also, the player character was a giant foot.
      Miyazaki is a strange dude, and maybe some of the changes that he was so upset about actually "improved" the game, but I would still like to be able to play through the great Miyazakis original vision...
