Saw him in San Diego in 1973, we traveled down from Santa Cruz for a surf contest. It was part of the Sunday finals after party. Wow!!!!!! I was 14 and always herd of him threw the elders ( the old guys ) but never went to a concert. WOW totally blown away, soooooo cool never seen anything like it. A total master. Then things went nuts, people hitting the floor doing the worm and god knows what. Total ho down hoot-nanny. Guys were stage diving hitting the floor with total reckless abandon. Total chaos, I loved it. Beer and broken Tequila bottles everywhere!!!!! Long live Dick Dales spirt who defined our culture with his total hard driving Fender into multiple decades. When musicians define lifestyles and cultures don't they end up in the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME? Just saying ..........JJ

The drummer, Jimmy Dale kicks ass.Musical talent definitely runs deep in his family. Solid bass playing too. Keeping up with all of Dick Dale's unscripted craziness can't be easy. Great energy coming from that young rhythm section. They seem to be having a good time, especially the bass player. And what can you say about Dick Dale? He's 73 and he still performed like a young guitar god.

KING OF THE SURF GUITAR!!! I'm sure he (possibly you) came into the Coach House with regularity, but playing there as Gary's house band ('81/'82) was extra special when Dick came in! As much a legend then as now, and in regard to shaping the art of guitar, Dick's up there with Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Van Halen and Beck. Great guy, as you well know, Lana!

Very nice tribute, Lana... And how nice for Dick that you've taken over every aspect of his personal and business life including the selling of Miserlou. And kudos to you for the continued estrangement of his only son, Jimmy. Can't take any chances on him getting a piece of the estate now can we. Even though all Jimmy ever wanted was to have a sit down with his dad to reconcile differences before Dick moves on from this realm. But that ain't gonna happen, is it. Something you made very clear to me while posing as Dick with his email and threatening me with legal action if I didn't leave you alone. Which was of course unnecessary because all you had to do was have Dick call me and tell me to FO and I'd be gone like the wind. But that never happened, did it. I've known Dick 30 plus years. Toured with him and the Del Tones and he was my mentor and inspiration for getting into music and his only weakness was being a sucker for young blonde beach bunnies. But you were special, huh Lana. By convincing him you could channel communications with his mother, he fell for you hook line and sinker and refers to you as his absolute soulmate. And hey, we know your psychic claims must be true because how else could you offer folks a "precise and Accurate history" of DD when you've only been around at the tale end of said history. Right? What a 'wonderful, wonderful' person you are, Lana. And since you are a psychic, I bet you can hone in on two other words I'm thinking of that describes you, perfectly.

Maybe you should write a book? I always wished for an objective and accurate biography on Dick. I'd buy it...
