    If you're doing body paint and either you can't afford arm socks, or the outfit you're wearing shows a lot of skin, I present to you - morph suits. They do have a zip at the back and a lot of them have morphsuit printed on the lower back, but I found it was a lifesaver for my Marcelline cosplay.

    Hack number 5 is really fun. In 2019, my best friend and I went to Momo Con and the first morning when we arrived at the convention center, I went to the Starbucks in the food court dressed as Keith from Voltron: Legendary Defenders and one of the baristas noticed my cosplay and put the characters name on my cup. It brightened my whole day and I loved hearing them call out my name.

    My own personal nail hacks for cosplay: Peel off base coat! Holo Taco and Unt both make these, but basically you use it as a base coat, put your manicure on top, wait for it to dry, then peel it off in one peelie. You can use the same base coat on the peelies to reuse them. Then the nails are custom size, color, and finish. Also useful if you want to do nail art for cosplay.

    • @martinapersson87
      @martinapersson87 3 года назад +1

      Also possible is to paint the nails and peel them off after they are completly dry and then it is possible to reattach them with more peel off base coat. If you have a design that takes time on the nails. :) But yeah agree peel off base coat ❤️

    I have a tip to offer, if you have a character who has a different skin colour like red, blue, green ext... rather then body paint you can buy or make body suits that are in the colour of your character, along with the suit you can get matching gloves which you can glue fake nails to, this way you only have to paint your face and it’s easier for you because it takes up less time but it also stops paint from getting on the cosplay that you worked so hard for

For example I can do a pair of french tips and use them for Lucy (Fairy tail), Weiss (RWBY), Edelgard (FETH), and Vanilla (Nekopara). Put a pair on over your costume gloves/armsocks, take em off when you’re done, no need to wash your hands and your cosplay gloves/armsocks are still nice and clean.

    Hi! Personal trainer and cosplayer here. When I go to conventions I recommend protein bars rather than granola or energy bars. Protein is more satiating than carbs and fats. My favorite are Quest bars because they are zero sugar, have fiber, and 20 grams of protein. Hope this helps! :D

    • @0ctobuss
      @0ctobuss 3 года назад +1

      Some people might need the glucose, especially people who have chronic low blood pressure or any kind of metabolic issue where having carbs is more important for preventing fainting episodes than protein, which is less digestible. Smoothies are a better option for people who’d be in this boat. :)
      Also, protein bars are heavily processed (zero sugar usually means an artificial sweetener is used instead), so people with any kind of sensitivities including GI sensitivities need to be careful (organic/non-gmo are an option, but costly!) consider making homemade granola with a dried nut combination for a little protein to help stave off conmunchies instead!

I normally just drink at least 2 cans of Coca Cola or Sprite soda because I wear cosplays that have corsets, solid food is really hard to have especially if the outfit has to have a corset or a built in corset that restricts eating unoess someone unlaces the back enough for me to eat and is willing to help lace me back up.

    The ballet flat hack works for going out drinking with your friends as well. I have a couple pairs of high heels that look awesome but as heels tend to do they start to hurt after a while so I just have the flats in my purse. Also if you don't wear heels all that often drinking might make them even more difficult to walk in and the flats help with that. Please drink responsibly.

    Another hack for the high heel thing: sometimes flats will also hurt you (gonna add my experience) so I can also recommend dance shoes. These are made for a lot of action and they're super comfortable. Also quite expensive (~40$ more than regular high heels) but they will last an eternity, are super comfy and there are so many different kinds that you'll still find the perfect shoes for the cosplay.
    I did the thing with the ballet flats so often and it's great, but once I was wearing my Princess Peach Summer dress and I couldn't wear the high heels (dance shoes) for most of the day because literally every pavement and street was just cobblestone and it was impossible to walk in the high heels without slamming my face into the cobbestone or break my ankles or both. I took matching ballet flats with me and they were super cute but they gave my feet more damage than even regular high heels could have ever done.

    One of my favourite hacks for cosplay is, if your filming Tiktoks and want to do multiple characters, having a simple makeup look that works for many characters can cut down on time.

    Another tip on having food while keeping yourself clean; Bring along a zip up jumper or hoodie and wear it over your costume in order to reduce the chance of you spilling anything on yourself. This can also apply in helping you to stay warm.

    In the same vein as the smoothies, cold soups. Some soups are meant to be eaten cold (like gazpacho which I love) or are good both hot and cold, you can buy them in a bottle or carton or make them at home and bring them in a bottle, you stick them in your hotel fridge and pour them into a reusable smoothie/coffee cup to drink on the go. If you have a microwave in your room you can do the same with hot soup, it feels a little weird to drink soup from a smoothie cup but it works just fine. I also try to always carry a couple of candy bars in my bag/purse, they're not exactly healthy but if you're susceptible to low blood sugar or you just get hangry they're great.

    what kind of bag do you recommend to take with you on a con? Backpacks arent very good because they ruin your costume, but a handbag isnt big enough for everything either and can get tiring to carry.

    • @AnyaPanda
      @AnyaPanda  2 года назад

      Backpacks can be good if you don't have a long wig, otherwise I like messenger bags or rolling backpacks.

    I wish I could use the press on nails, but my nail shape does not go well with them. If you get acrylics, though, you can soak cotton balls in acetone and wrap them around your fingers and then pack that in aluminium foil for half an hour. They are a lot easier to get off like that.

    You look extra gorgeous in this video ! For the bubble hack there is those sorts of balloon paste that you can blow bubbles out of, they're a bit difficult and dont last that long I think? Well still more than bubblegum but since they're a bit translucent maybe they would look cool in photos !

    I love the impress stick on nails vs the glue on ones because they seem to stay on better. I've used glue on nails in the past and they pop off way too easy and the impress ones are less mess then glue and easier to take off.

    Best intro!
    Edit: Also, about shoes and soreness of your feet. I would highly recommend insoles (I believe that's the right name). I have gotten some for work as my new job has me standing all day so that would be pretty similar to a con.
    I have very squishy ones that have a hexagonal or beehive shape/imprint on them. They also don't stick to the sole of your shoe (or at least mine don't) so you can use the one insole and keep swapping it out to the shoes your are wearing. The one I got was under $20.

    Thank you so much!!! My first cosplay was March 2020 and that was a few days before lockdown, and I wasn't proud of my cosplay at all though I didn't even research tips or ways to improve my cosplay.
    Currently, I have a goal to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place at a convention and I'm extremely dedicated and determined. Thanks for the video. I think it has worked a lot of people.
