Henry is my 6th Great Grandfather. It was such a big deal to my grandma she was so proud. I think she always lamented not having grown up in Thibodaux.

oh man... watching these out of order... didn't realize this one mentioned the 1891 Italian lynching. I would love to see a full video on this incident. I think the way that people look for "groups" of people to blame for their problems just occurs over and over in history and these events can teach us so much about our humanity. So many things seem to revolve around the color of people's skin and dark-skinned Sicilians were certainly no different. I especially thought that the item that was posted in the newspaper that encouraged the public to take the law into their own hands was particularly chilling. thanks for these great videos!
I really enjoyed this video. I was born and raised in Thibodaux, I moved to Texas in 1991. This makes me want to go back home. I miss my hometown and my family.

This video contains inaccuracies...for example: The Acadia house was NOT destroyed to build the John Folse Culinary building, rather it was destroyed so that the owner of the property could build his new house on the site....please check your facts!
No mention of the Thibodaux massacre but mentioned the Italian massacre in New Orleans.. Do better be inclusive and acknowledge the contributions of all who paved the way for the city to be what it is. Don't whitewash Lafourche parish.
Trust me it's not a bad look. It's history. Have some sort of mention to it to let people know that it happened same as the Italian massacre. If they choose to watch your other video it's their choice. But at least mention it In This video about Thibadoux leave a link so others can watch your other video.

It was an insane time and so many atrocities were taking place. Looking forward to doing more research and making an Italian Louisiana history video.
