The thing i love most about Variety is how much they make the Directors feel completely comfortable to just have a conversation about damn near anything in these Directors on Directors set.
Again this felt like a conversation literally between a brotherly bond type of way, Ben giving flowers & knowledge & completely admiration being a proud brother to see Michael keep blooming. Michael completely taking the advice, showing his general great mannered self & accepting what Big Bro has to say.

i'm not sure what i expected out of this. but i'm deadass.. this is the realest most authentic directors on directors i've seen. most of them feel like the people were just set up by their team as pr for movie, this feels like these guys are actually friends.

Also holds the record for youngest Person/ artist in history to win An Oscar for writing / screenplay… a record he will probably hold until the end of Time..Matt just happens to be a tiny bit older , so Ben holds the crown for Good Will Hunting at 25 lol ..No one’s touchin that shit
Michael is going to become a beloved director. Creed 3 was just so good, the last fight scene was so unique. I honestly didn’t see it coming.
Michael branching out into the directing world is great to see and honestly did an excellent job with his debut for Creed III. Also important for him to be discussing it with a veteran in the industry like Ben.

I absolutely agree that Ben’s acting propelled when he started directing, and directing himself especially. It’s a serious change that you see and it’s so cool to see how that introspection plays out for everyone else.
I love these because with people like Affleck, you get to see that this man really loves movies and making them. And that is fucking awesome considering how long he has been in this business and what his career has been ( awesome), that he still loves it and is so excited by it. Fantastic stuff. Michael is just the man. Cannot wait to see what he goes on and does.

I clicked thinking these two were the people I had never seen together. Didn't know they were actually close! They have amazing chemistry and such a fun dynamic. You can tell they put care into their crafts and their conversation flows so well.
Absolutely love Ben's work as an actor & filmmaker, and always thought that he is a great person, with an incredibly kind & generous spirit. The fact that he remains so humble, never taking credit for his own accomplishments, but always so ready to champion others, speaks a lot about his character.
Yes I loved that about him to and so does his wife he so humble and so real and what you see is what you get with Ben he don’t have a agenda.
Same with Matt Damon. I think it helps that they had each other coming up in the industry

i think the biggest takeaway for me from this is that Ben and Michael have been talking in private long before this interview. I hope older actors and directors have been doing this type of reaching out to the next generation. Knowledge passed is priceless.

Ben Affleck is a great actor i love him as an actor and he is a great person.
You can tell how smart and empathetic and well-read these two are. Not speaking at each other, not just waiting to say their piece.
Instead, bouncing off each other and treating this as a true learning experience and a Q&A. All the smiling and laughing between them feels rare in Hollywood.

This was awesome, so cool that Ben saw how talented Michael was and reached out is very cool. Ben gets a lot of hate, but he seems like a nice guy, and has a very unique career, and I'm glad he's giving other actors advice, like Michael said, it's invaluable to have someone like Ben to give you advice and support. I’m one of those Ben affleck fans that “believe” in him. He made me believe, dare devil was a movie he didn’t like but watching that movie as a kid… I believe just because you have a shitty start in life… doesn’t mean you can be a super hero… I really thought he was blind as a kid. He gave me hope and I will be a ride until the mother fucking wheel fall off. Perseverance in life, is what made you great!
I enjoyed this one. Often, it's two people just trading compliments, which isn't that interesting. They talked about their craft, their evolution, working with people they know, aspirations and more. Mostly, it wasn't a PR campaign, they were genuine, no social agendas, or tearing down others, it was about their journey and getting better at their craft.
As a film lover, this is such an honest and open conversation between 2 guys , two different backgrounds talking openly about trailblazing, leadership as a director and professionalism. Really love both actors, love the convo.
This was possibly one of my favorite of all these talks so far. Any project that these two collaborate on I would watch in a heartbeat. They have so much apparent love, respect and reverence for one another’s work. Wonderful to watch. ❤

I agree to what I loved with Ben out of all the people Jlo been apart from Marc these are the only guys that admire Jlo for who she really is and knew the real Jennifer not the one the media betray her to be. Michael B. Jordan is so good looking that he doesn't need to be a great actor, But he IS a great actor because he loves the craft. Ben Affleck could have rested on his laurels after his very first script, yet despite everything he's been through in his personal life, he's never stopped evolving as a creative. These are two incredibly admirable individuals, and two of my absolute favorite artists working today. I love these mfs

I really like that Ben can have an interview and be his true self without putting up a acting front like most actors when they do an interview. sometimes its hard to tell if actors are acting or being themselves during interviews.

I love Ben and have been a fan of his since, “Good Will Hunting” but he’s always seems so AMPHED up interviews. It’s so interesting. It just tells me as confident as he is as an actor and director, he’s not really comfortable being himself in interviews where he can be judged in a different way. He gets a lot of shit but I like Ben. I’m a fan!
He just needs to learn how to regulate his nervous system so that those nerves and that nervous energy doesn’t exaggerate and accelerate his speech pattern. 🥰🥰🥰
