    Your way of calling out the important distinctions is appreciated, Dr. E. The demonstration of literally releasing the club out into the field in slow-motion in an angle that is a little extra compared to the target.
    Thanks for that, simplifies understanding. ⛳🎯🎯🎯

    Such a cool concept, and it makes so much sense... trick the brain. With only a few practice swings after watching this, it feels so natural and comfortable to come easily from the inside. I've failed miserably trying to swing from the inside with a square alignment, that does not feel comfortable and the torso wants to take over (hello swinging over the top!). Look forward to hitting balls with an open stance. Thank you sir!

      @@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Hey Marcus... I hit balls using an open stance yesterday, swinging in-to-out seemed easy and natural, very relaxed hands. Like you, I learned the bottom of my swing arc is back in my stance, so I adjusted accordingly. Wow, never have I hit longer (6,7,8 irons, 4 and 7 woods)! Only 1 ball drifted towards the right (I am right handed), almost everything either dead straight or with a nice draw. I began your series "How to use your hands" and it all seems logical. Too many pros teach rolling of the wrists and that always gets me in trouble (hook). So far, just relaxing my wrists and arms, swinging in-out with the open stance has me either straight or a slight draw and longer. I don't need longer now, I just want control of the ball. Thank you sir, your lessons all appear to make logical sense to me. Thank you! Mark G., fellow Swede in the USA.

    Loved this video which kind of answers a few feelings I’ve developed during the swing. As a feel I’ve recently been feeling the trail hand like an underarm throw that hasn’t released fully by impact (for irons) and has already released before impact (for driver). It has really helped my movement a lot in general but does that sound like a healthy swing thought to have?? I think the open alignment exercise in this video will tie-in nicely. Thanks! 🙏🏻

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad

      Hi Garland. It all depends on your path. Inside path then the face should be slightly open-end. If your path is straight your face should be straight. Every change you are trying to do can effect other things in your motion.

  • @coolstuff9374
    @coolstuff9374 2 года назад

    I love your simple method, thanks.
    Just a little confused on this point though.
    When you say you swing in-to-out, I assume this is on a line that points some 40 degrees left of target in your case (lefty).
    This is where your club headed when you threw it both times - left of target.
    And yet you said it’s going “to the target” the 2nd time (4.00 mins in).
    This is an important distinction for me, because being a righty, if I focus on swinging from the inside, just to the ball and don’t think about continuing out to right field, my swing often tends to come over the top.
    If you can achieve this (swinging along your chalk line - from another video), and let the ball “just get in the way”, so long as you make the draw release the ball should end up on the target line. Correct?

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely correct. In my mind I try to swing out the most I can but in reality the rotation of the body will always bring it back to the target. 👍

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  2 года назад

      Hi Daniel. If you want to hit a draw with any club you will need to separate swing path and aim. This can help all clubs and is mostly a way to feel to swing in to out.

  • @inusprinsloo1257
    @inusprinsloo1257 2 года назад

    Hi, I love this concept. Just one question (for now): By swinging to the left, do you mean relative to your open stance, but on the target line, or even more left of the target line too?
    Regards

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  2 года назад

      Hi. It needs to be relative to the target line to produce a draw but this video is more to feel it relative to your stance and alignment. If you align to the target it's both relative to the target sign and stance. Ok?

      I tried the earlier release you mentioned in another video (driver) and it seems to work well. I must just hone it in yet for as soon as it feels comfortable I tend overdoing it, seeking the same feel as in the beginning.

    Hi Marcus do you live or have a house on this course?

  • @maeu59
    @maeu59 3 года назад +1

    This is like swinging to right field (right handed golfer) but instead swinging to the target. Most amateurs have a hard time swinging right or left of target, the subconscious thinks it needs to swing at the target which creates an out to in path. With an open stance just swing to the target which automatically becomes swinging to right field.
