Hi Stuart. Glad that my videos has helped. The back swing will be discussed in the future but not the fade, sorry. The reason is simple. If you watch a fade video and then a draw video and you don't understand the difference to a hundred percent it will mess up your shots. I teach fade but not on video.
Hi Marcus Thank you again for all your videos. Just watch this one it looks like you have a lot of weight on your back foot. Is that true and does it help you to turn down?
Hi. I let my hands move down and until they start moving forward there are no reason for my body to move forward and therefore the weight shift is late. Weight shift it not something we should practice, it will happen if we hit a good golf shot. 👍
Hey Marcus hope you're well friend! Excellent video ! My question today is pertaining to grip weak neutral or strong? Would you recommend one over they other to make this push feel more natural? Thanks in advance
Hi John. If you have a weak grip you can do a more aggressive release and if you have a strong grip you can you need to do a less aggressive release. I like the natural to slightly week gray because then we can really use our hands and hit the ball with more speed and with more release.
I tried this out today focusing on pushing away from the target...whereas before i was just using the push feeling to start downswing. I got rather interesting results. It felt awkward and it really promoted a hook spin. But a few good strikes and i see the benefit. Will keep working at this.
Hi Mark, I have question: when you hit the ball, mostly with the driver, is your trail hand still pushing or you let it free to pass through with momentum?
After watching your video I made this chart. Do you see any problem? R-Hand AoA Mov2Gnd1st ClubF Club-Mov ClubD Ball-F Start-Sw Plane Push Shallow C-Head Closes Away inside Draw Away Under Pull Steep C-Grip Opens Forward outside Fade Toward Over
I happened to be working on this feel the last few days and I feel the word you used 'circular' can really help conceptually. Initially, I found difficulty in placing my awareness somewhere useful in order for me to feel this movement correctly. Conversely, when I imagined the circle the clubhead should/will inevitably make, it doesn't make sense to take a expedient detour by pulling and instead the movement you speak of in this video comes pretty easily I found. I know everyone differs in feels but I feel this thought of the circle that you mentioned may be a helpful focus for people who are having difficulty with this. Thanks for yet another cracker Marcus!!
Any advice? I am a left-handed player like you, but I'm naturally right-handed. Left side feels so passive in my swing. Is there a good way to train the left hand/arm to push at the top?
Hi Mark. I know a lot of golfers that needed to learn to use the stupid hand. You can start brushing your teeth with the "wrong" hand or just start doing casual normal things with that hand. The more you do the more you will be able to do. I started playing racket sports with my stupid hand to make it smarter and I also hit golf balls single handed with both hands. You probably have all the strength you need but you are not able to use it.
If I hit it good the face is half as open as the inside out path. If the path is 10 degrees in to out the face should be 5 degrees open to produce a draw to the target.
Thank you for sharing in such detail. Transition is such an important part of the swing, and I just wonder: I have tried to practice shifting pressure from my trail foot to my lead foot by pressing forward with my trail hip and pelvis to my left thigh before even reaching the top of the backswing, much the way Padraig Harrington explains it. With your method I suppose you have max pressure under your trail foot at the top, when you push (or throw?) the club away from you (to resist the force of the push), and the pressure will then shift by the momentum of what your arms and club are doing after that? Thanks again!
You are correct. I let my swing and the movement of my arms move pressure and weight. The shot we wanna hit will shift your weight. A forced weight shift will destroy the natural motion that we need.
Both hands and clubhead. They are both moving away in the beginning of the swing towards the ball. Speed comes from a trail hand moving faster than the lead hand. If you want a swing path in to out the rest is also correct.
Hello marcus. Thanks for bringing another great video on sequencing from the top starting down . My question is what are your thoughts in terms of shoulder/ spine tilt ? I noticed that when I began to point my lead shoulder more Down towards the ground, I seem to get a better result whether with irons or woods. In other words, should I lean towards more tilt than less with lead shoulder at the start of my backswing?
Hi. I think that it helps you swing more down and that is a good thing. I never think about that but when I tried it I feel more comfortable with a good tilt with my lead shoulder pointing more towards the ball. Keep it. 👍
It’s been so long I don’t know if you will even see this. But I would like some clarification. So, at the beginning of your downswing, you are pushing your left hand straight out in the opposite direction of the target not down, but straight out and that action I guess the momentum of the club is carrying the club down and around towards the ball?
That sounds correct. It's also greatly effected by the body turning back to the ball. It's a circle, at the top it needs to move in the opposite direction of what happens at the ball.
Your videos are good. You quickly get to your main point. I'm working on your main concept of pushing the club not pulling it. Please include a slow motion swing of yourself in each video. I have one question. It looks like you start your swing by lifting the club off the ground, then start your turn. Is that correct? PS I never commented before about any video, but you are onto something good. Keep going.
Hi Gerry. I will keep going and I have two videos about what you ask about: ruclips.net/video/_K0KHj9QiaY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/efRsbb--k5k/видео.html This videos will explain my take away and why I don't give you to much slow motion.
Hi Andreas. It can happen to me to if I get lazy in extending the arm going towards the ball. Try to get an earlier extension in your trail elbow and your arm will move. It's only when there is a lack of push that it can get stuck.
@@williamreichert4798 It is ok to cast/throw the club if it starts down. Then we are throwing the club on the circle we want the club to move on. What we can't do is throw/cast over the top. This video will explain it more: ruclips.net/video/XkWE_x-J6W4/видео.html
Motty, I think my casting and horrible results occurred because I had little or no rotation. Marcus’s “casting” or pushing is combined with proper rotation resulting in higher club head speed plus better contact. Casting is agreeably wrong with no rotation, but is called “pushing” with synced rotation and with much better results. Thank you Marcus for this insight.
according to instruction it sounds like you will be casting the golf losing power, but a slow motion the swing he does, he doesn't push away from the target his elbow stays bent until impact ....
Du måste prova. Jag har försökt att göra det för tidigt i 23 år utan att lyckas. Det är också en snabbare uträtning som ger mig min hastighetsökning i speedträningen...
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad maybe do a show on where we from the USA can go in the winter and play and not be in a grossly touristy place. Spain, Portugal….Greece, Italy?
Not really. Casting is when you mostly release your wrists at the top. This is more arm motion but very close. With a swing path from the inside it works great but with an outside path it will be a disaster...
Goodness, now I know what it is that I have been doing wrong. Your insights are remarkable. Will now endeavor to “ push “ the club more than “ pull “. Thank you Marcus.

Keep it. 👍
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad thank you Marcus 🙏🏼

It’s been so long I don’t know if you will even see this. But I would like some clarification. So, at the beginning of your downswing, you are pushing your left hand straight out in the opposite direction of the target not down, but straight out and that action I guess the momentum of the club is carrying the club down and around towards the ball?
That sounds correct. It's also greatly effected by the body turning back to the ball. It's a circle, at the top it needs to move in the opposite direction of what happens at the ball.
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Thank you! So much! I’ll work on that.

Is it correct that I would start the downswing with a wedge and a driver the same with only the release being earlier with the driver?
Yes, the release needs to be earlier with the driver, we need to reach the lowest point before impact. With a wedge, after impact.
Keep going.
Hi Gerry. I will keep going and I have two videos about what you ask about:
ruclips.net/video/_K0KHj9QiaY/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/efRsbb--k5k/видео.html
This videos will explain my take away and why I don't give you to much slow motion.
hi marcus,my trail arm is really stuck on the side of my body, which makes me hit pull shots. Do you have videos about it? Thank you!
Hi Andreas. It can happen to me to if I get lazy in extending the arm going towards the ball. Try to get an earlier extension in your trail elbow and your arm will move. It's only when there is a lack of push that it can get stuck.
Would the push away from you not potentially cause someone to cast the club?
Only if it starts out instead of down. Casting is only bad in the wrong direction
SO it is OK to cast if you cast OUT and not DOwn? Or the other way around? PLease explain. This is important
@@williamreichert4798 It is ok to cast/throw the club if it starts down. Then we are throwing the club on the circle we want the club to move on. What we can't do is throw/cast over the top. This video will explain it more:

Thank you again Marcus.. Excellent 👏👏.!!! Herb 🇮🇪☘️
Thanks for watching. 🙏
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Do you have any drills to practice the pushing method? Such a great piece of advice and definitely something I need to work on.
Marcus what is the difference between this move and casting? Or is it the same thing therefore casting is a good thing?
It is almost the same move but in a different direction. I think that bad casting includes early wrist action but pushing is more arm move.
Casting in the wrong direction can be really bad but casting/throwing on the circle of speed gives you amazing golf shots. Have you tried?
HI Markus, todays gold swing mostly called in to in, how is that?
I don't know who told you that but I don't think that's a useful path.
Thank you!
Happy to help. 👍
Looks like a hockey swing to me.
Not many can see the resemblance but I use the same muscles I use to hit a slap shot. 👍
I have nearly everything, this is my last chance saloon.
Hi. I can promise that it works but any metod or way to hit a golf ball will take time to learn. Keep fighting. 👍
Forward press..?
Still a push with the palm down.
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Ok thanks:)
It’s clear.
Sounds good. 👍
Its looks like casting which im told not to do
Casting is a throw in the wrong direction. Watch this:

Better places to play than Floridia pretty much from Virginia to Georgia is better. Less crowded, prettier, less Yankees and long nose folks.
Maybe I'll try something else next time. 👍
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad maybe do a show on where we from the USA can go in the winter and play and not be in a grossly touristy place. Spain, Portugal….Greece, Italy?
So you’re casting 😂
Not really. Casting is when you mostly release your wrists at the top. This is more arm motion but very close. With a swing path from the inside it works great but with an outside path it will be a disaster...
Great
I'm glad you are getting your daily doze of tips. 😊
Goodness, now I know what it is that I have been doing wrong. Your insights are remarkable. Will now endeavor to “ push “ the club more than “ pull “. Thank you Marcus.
It works but a change can sometimes be difficult. 💪
