    A little history lesson: And Trabant means companion. The moon, for example, is a companion of the earth. In the GDR, the Trabant was the companion of many GDR citizens. Unfortunately, the GDR could not keep up with the production of Trabants for the GDR population, as many Trabants were sold abroad. As a result, many foreign cars from the Eastern Bloc drove around in the GDR. The problem was not only with the Trabant. 70% of the S50/S51 mopeds and the strollers made in Zeitz also went abroad to generate foreign currency. Incidentally, the S50/51 moped is one of the most popular mopeds today, as you can drive it faster in Germany than mopeds of the same cubic centimetres produced today.
