Got double decker trains in India as well
Honesty seems like just the UK that don't have double decker 🙈
Maggi is a condiment I use in a lot of foods It is vegan and very like soysauce I put it in a lot of stews and soups but I have never had it neat BTW a teaspoon of marmite in a stew does also enhance the flavour too.
I will be making sure to have some more in the future 😊
@@DocyinDeutschland It has the taste of "umami" or savouriness marmite, parmesan cheese, all have this taste so does soysauce and Maggi Interestingly tomatoes have it too.
Boy. ... you got this kind of trains in France as well......😊
First train you showed is a Swiss train
Honestly it's stock footage 🙈
Double decker trains are used probably everywhere in continental Europe. At least in all the countries I have been so far: Switzerland (the first train on the video), Italy, France (even TGV high speed trains), Netherlands etc...
us czechs have them too... :)
Honestly might just be the UK at this point 😂
we have them in france too not somthing special for us
Awesome
There are many reasons why they arent on time. One is that we dont have dedicated tracks for passenger trains and the Cargo Trains have priority.
I did not know that. Thank you ☺️
That's not a big problem if traffic control works as intended. Absolute majority of countries don't have passenger/cargo separation on main railways.
'German trains' meanwhile, the first clip you showed was a Swiss train
I'll be honest, it was generic stock footage I grabbed. Good spot though 👌
And the second is Russian. )
U have to swutch on ur brain when going over 200 yea obviously not when its like high traffic snd stuff
I just dont see the need to go that fast :/ I would rather take an extra 10 minutes and have a 99.9% chance of arriving safely rather than arriving that 10 minutes quicker but having my chance of survival drop dramtically. How do you feel about this?
Everyone is annoyed by it if it like a thing like u gotta buy something to piss but if its the lil plate for the cleaning ladies thats good ill gladly put a euro on that these ladies donr have a pleasant job
The more I spend time in Germany the more I start to like the idea of it. Keeps things cleaner and gives people a job too
Old mercedeses are the shit especially man. My fiest car was a w202 c class. Awesome car
I do love a mercedes myself. Great machine
We keep the sunday holy🔥✝️
But on the other Hand Germany Censores whole parts of Video Games, Symbols in Video Games, Movies
Something I need to look into
@JohannesFrei-b7n Germany censors the use of the Swastika, although its allowed in education and art. Movies are art, so its usually not censored there. Video games got censored for quite some time, but in the last few years the, too, got their deserved recognition as an art form and thus usually also can show swastikas etc. Apart from that, I dont think that there is much censoring going on ( the age restriction might get pushed to 18), especially if you compare it to the US where swear words and nipples are evil
Never arrive on time bit like British trains
Yeah German trains times are rough :/
"Wacken!!!" Mekka for Metal Heads all over the world, it´s a small village, but ... biggest Metal festival of the world
I REALLY want to go to Wacken one year. Its on my bucket list of festivals to go to :D Have you ever been?
@@DocyinDeutschland i love Rammstein and Electric Callboy, but i´m not a really metal head, I love the story and ppl of Wacken
@@arnodobler1096 I adore both of those bands. Espeically Electric Callboy. They seem like so much fun. Cannot wait to see them live
"In Scotland, the word 'fucking' is just a warning that a noun is on its way" - Frankie Boyle
I see swearing the same. If youre not swearing as an insult its fucking fine.
Great example my friend 😂
In general we don't view swear words as offensive, we see demeaning or mistreating people as offensive.
It's a great way to view things
Every child (and adult) very much enjoys singing the "refrain" of "Schrei nach Liebe ".
Should I check this song out?
@DocyinDeutschland Sure. "Die Ärzte" are one of Germanys most succesful bands and (by their own accord) the best band of the world.
The f**k u talking about?! We get the cencored UK edits.
Germany is a hell hole and they're laying in their bed right now. How'd getting rid of those Coal plants work out for you? Thought yall were agaist russia.... why yall buying energy from them 😂😂😂😂😂
The perception of context that exists beyond the obvious seems to an act that only higher ordered humans are capable of.
Sadly so
In Ireland, swear words are just like highlighter pen being used on a book, but some folk don't like you writing on books. So we understand both points of view , but each of us do our own thing without judgement and just get on with our life.
I love this 🥰
Shizer
😂
it's always weird to me how anglos censor everything
I don't get it. Swear words are just another word
UK is the worst country on earth. Even China blushes in regards to their censorship😂
🙈
That's not just in Germany. Same things applies in the Netherlands or Belgium and I would presume in lots of other European countries. Isn't it telling that the UK produces lots of 'smut' but by jolly, you can't have a naughty word on the radio?
I have yet to travel/spend much time in other European countries so cannot comment. I do believe that things need to lighten up in regards to censorship. Its just another word most of the time
It’s likely a hangover from Victorian times where there was a heavy focus on ‘decency’, this is reflected in legislation like the Town and Police Clauses Act 1847 that is still in place today. Stemming from this we also have other legislation like Railway Byelaws (byelaw 6 making Unacceptable Behaviour a Criminal offence on a train or railway land). There’s also s.5 of the Public Order Act which includes ‘insulting words and behaviour’, it’s all very open to interpretation and who is around at the time!
@@OzonesElbows Thank you for the information :D
I tried multiple times to post an interesting reply to this short about censorship but I was repeatedly censored
Nothing has been held in the held section?
@DocyinDeutschland that's strange. I don't think it will let me say the F word
It's a cat. Replace cat with that other word that sometimes means cat. Is it offensive? Depends on context that might not be obvious. Animal, not. Person of a particular gender... might be. Person of a particular level of strength aka either no big 💪 or unable to make tough decisions ... yes. (But understandable for the latter. The former just needs a good workout routine and not your insults)
@@DocyinDeutschlandyeah pretty sure RUclips takes stuff down automatically as well. I always get censored on economy and economic topics with the fed of all things
@@AlMcpherson79Rammstein have a song with the name of the "cat" word starting with a P, and the music video is a full on hardcore "adult movie" 😂. You absolutely won't find it on RUclips, but I saw the full version randomly in a bar in Berlin called Paules metal eck a few years ago. Showing a video like that on a big screen is actually pretty tame for Berlin nightlife though 😂
Hearing this as a scotsman, that's liberating
Learning recycling for German people took years but it's a stuff to be proud of it
It's such a great system and I love it. Germany should be extremely proud of this. Been thinking about making a How to Recycle video in which I learn the German way from my wife 😂
@@DocyinDeutschland I recommend a bunch of shorts ... this one is missing the sign for Pfand. Next one: where to put glas without Pfand. Paper, Bio garbage, LED, everything .. next one Grüner Punkt ... offtopic: explain tierhaltungskennzeichen, Nutri-Score 🙂
5.30 in in German 5:30 is Half to six
Correct
Germany Christmas is more traditional than English American it is only commercial has nothing to do with Jesus anymore just how many presents can I get.
Sadly so. Very commercialised
Aber warum riechst du wie ne Kartoffel nach dem Kochen
No cards was what got me too. Supermarkets even wtf!?
Madness 😂 thankfully things are changing and more places seem to take card
I'd prefer fully closed to sunday opening hours. I can fully plan around shops being shut, I hate feeling rushed on a sunday to fit in nipping to the shops and the awful feeling of realising its too late.
There are definitely up sides to them being closed for sure
Let me know when you’re coming to Trier and we can meet up. I literally NEVER meet fellow Scots in Germany.
For sure 😊 No idea when I'll be heading down but I'll do my best to get in touch
Frohes neues Jahr ech beiden!
Frohes neues Jahr 😊
Happy New Year 🙂 (German) Christmas Eve is what you make out of it 🙂 Germany is not only sunshine LOL, it's all kind of weather, but we're loosing snowy days ...
Happy new year :D Very excited to see where we can take the channel this year. Is there anything in particular you would like to see me do or go?
@@DocyinDeutschland Well ..one problem with Germany is that there are millions places worth to visit. You're 6 cities list is fine and you got a lot of suggestions there. I can just remind of the south which means not just a day trip but some more days. Hiking in the Alps, visit a lake as Lake Constance or Chiemsee. Regensburg and Walhalla is something I enjoyed. Other big cities are nice to visit as well as Nuremberg, Ingolstadt, Augsburg, Munich. (Heidelberg might be another nice option) Your niche might be to show us Germany with your innocent Scottish eyes so a lot of stuff we don't see in Germany due to It's so normal to us. Everything: food, habbits, traditions, anything.. I don't mind to here the differences to Edinborough/Scotland because that's a way for myself to learn more about Scotland. YT videos for inspiration: "This is Germany" (TURN ON subtitles!), "Meet the Germans Roadtrip Nord/East/South/West" and "Deutschland by Rammstein: An Analysis" (do the Analysis video first) "This is Germany"> Dr. Ludwig did some videos ruclips.net/p/PL0RWp1ivCOIzmbumeZyoMrm8fT5WonmJP
@@rairei thank you so much for all of this 😊 I'll bring sure to check out these videos you suggested
This was my eighteenth Christmas in Germany and we have much more food on Heiliger Abend as is the German tradition and to be honest this year we had leftovers on Christmas Day. But it was delicious food even if I cooked it myself. I watched the BEST Christmas film "Muppet Christmas Carol" (which is surprisingly faithful to the book) and Michael Caine plays it so seriously It JUST works!
What did you cook this year? Muppet Christmas Carol is a GREAT movie. Caine is a legend of an actor. Favourite role he has played for me would have to be Alfred in the dark knight trilogy. Happy New Year :D
Budchen, kiosk oder tankstellen Are open or did you want to do your weekly shop on a sunday?
Of course not, I am just sharing my experience. In Scotland everything stays open
@DocyinDeutschland I know my sister lives in Elgin... No worries lad🍻
@Jusele-c6m Happy new year ✨️
I wrote the first Comment
And here is the first reply ☺️
Hey 👋 my friend country, Canada 🇨🇦 doesn’t give me a lot of opportunities for me to make money so I had to choose one place is Russia otherwise my fiancé would go to Germany for their beers that’s his favorite. German girls don’t want to become surrogate mom so yeah.
German beer is meant to be amazing
I visited Aschaffenburg almost by accident in 2002 - it's a great town to visit. Trier is definitely a must see if you're into your Roman history. It is beautiful.
Nuremberg for me, loved that city. Also, the Schnoor in Bremen is tiny, but it's a must visit for me. Otherwise there are a couple small ones I loved, like Duderstadt, Spangenberg, Tübingen, Landsberg am Lech. Btw, summer is much better to visit than winter. Winter is okay, but it's a bit depressing. I learned that the hard way. On a second visit I liked Munich much better!
Thank you for all the ideas :D I've been feeling that myself recently in regards to winter. Not been enjoying the cold one bit 😂
If you visit Koblenz Bonn and Aschaffenburg, you should take a boat down the Rhine (or down the Moselle to Trier). Especially from Koblenz to Mainz or to Trier it is worth it. There are a lot of castles on the way. Another idea is to take the train along the Rhein or Moselle, you can visit the different villages at the rivers. On The Moselle I would recommend Kobern Gondorf, Alkem, Beilstein Cochem on the Rhine there is St Goar,, Bacherach, St Goarshausen, Kaub, Rüdesheim, Asmannshausen and Mainz. There are a few more like Braubach with Marksburg Elz Castle, Eller or Treis Karden.
Thank you so much for all of the suggestions :D I hope to travel every bit of Germany one day so I am sure I will tick everything off :)
Bonn is also the birthplace of Beethoven and it has some interesting museums. Nearby is also the Drachenfels a bit touristy but still worth a visit. And if everything fails, there is Cologne nearby and you can drown your sorrows in Kölsch ;)
Trier is perhaps best combined with Koblenz and perhaps the Saarscheife near Mettlach (There is a Baumwipfelpfad there too!) Bonn - the old cemetery is fascinating for who is buried there. The Beethovenhaus is also worth checking out. For me Bonn has a statue to Kekulé, a famous chemist, an amazing castle / palace which is the university which Marx attended. BTW he was born in Trier. If you fancy a trip to Wuppertal there is the Schwebebahn and the Engelshaus where Friedrich Engels was born / lived.
We are definitely going to try and tick off as many southern cities at once as we can due to it being a good distance away but super excited to visit them all. Bonn isn't too far away so probably get round to that one a lot sooner than others. As for Wuppertal we visit there pretty frequently. The Schwebebahn is good fun. I've got a couple videos on the channel about both Wuppertal and the Schwebebahn if you wanted to check them out 🥰 Thank you again for continuing to watch and comment on the videos 👏
@@DocyinDeutschland BTW between Wuppertal and Düsseldorf is the Neandertal famous for being the site where they found the first Neanderthal skeleton I believe the station and museum retains the old spelling of the valley Neanderthal like the hominids.
That has been added to the list 😊 thank you
Being from Hamburg here are some of my daytrip (except Erfurt perhaps) recommendations. Flensburg, Stade, Oldenburg (Oldb.), Hildesheim, Goslar, Uelzen, Kiel, Lübeck, Rostock, Celle, Schwerin, Lüneburg, Wisnar, Erfurt, Jever, Hameln, Rendsburg. I leave suggestions for cities located more south and/or east to my fellow commenters. 😂 Being in Berlin you could easy take a detour to Szczecin (Stettin) in Poland. Lovely city.
Wow thank you so much for this list 🥰 I'll be sure to add them to my places to visit. If you had to pick just one, which would it be and why?
What about Wroclaw (used to be Breslau and German for hundreds of years)?
@@DocyinDeutschland They are alle nice and beautiful and I only have good memories of them, so it's hard to decide. I'd probably choose the closest to me, Stade or Lüneburg. Happy new year 🍾🍹and happy travelling in 2025. 🗼
@teotik8071 thank you 😊 happy new year. I wish you a great year
