    Just touching on Paris, to give some perspective that no, Paris isn't getting all the nice shiny things over other parks... Frozen and a Galaxy's Edge were announced years ago (pre-covid), Frozen is still not finished (2026!), and their Galaxy's Edge was quietly cancelled, so Lion King is just replacing a previous plan. What DLP fans really hoped for, was that there would be some announcement for the Disneyland Paris park next door, while all this Studios work is much needed - their beautiful "castle" park hasn't gotten a new attraction or expansion in 20+ years!

      Good insight! Thanks for sharing. I'm always in disbelief how long it's been since DLP got something new.

    Eh, to remove Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom would be removing another quiet place for park guests, especially for park guests with disabilities. Those guests need a place to calm down and relax, and a family restroom or a hotel room outside the theme park should not be their only options. It does not help that TWDC is essentially demolishing land across the street for construction when they easily could build a large, enclosed show building for their two cars rides across the train tracks, thereby not closing nor disrupting the WDW Railroad (HECK, TWDC could easily have the offroad rally go across the railroad via an enclosed bridge as a kinda inverse of the underground tunnels that Disneyland does to transport their guests across the train tracks.)
    Also, while they're busy with ripping out TSI and Liberty Belle, why not annex Frontierland and Liberty Square as the Lands of America (because geographically we're jumping from New England to Virgina to Colorado to Louisiana to Arizona and then California once the two cars rides are added.)

      You make great points about the value of that area as it is. I fear that the river's infrastructure has become a bit more tricky than they're willing to maintain. That's purely speculation. I like your alternate ideas though!

    I wish them well, but erasing the heart of the spirit of America from the parks is not going to work. They need to reject the cultural idealogues and marketing people from creative departments of the company and get back to making great products that people want to buy and experience.
    I do like the Tropical Americas area of Animal Kingdom. Hopefully it turns out well. I don't care about Encanto, personally.

    I'm usually more upbeat on changes and all. But filling in Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island for Cars rides, ruining the look of Frontierland and making it even hotter? That makes zero sense to me.

    I know it’s not one of their big movies, but god. Imagine a Brother Bear attraction at Animal Kingdom… UGH. That movie is so near and dear to my heart. It’s been my favorite since I was a child. I can’t watch it without crying. Oh how I wish Brother Bear was big enough for it’s own ride
    I HAD TO COME BACK AND ADD TO THIS. Imagine that one effect they use in Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, you know the one, but with the scene of Kenai transforming into a bear

    I think my perspective on all of these announcements range from excited to concerned.
    As someone who considers Dinoland quite possibly their favorite area of Animal Kingdom, I’m excited to see what they do with Tropical Americas. I’m not sure if it’s the more tangible nature of what they announced or the fact that it’s one of the first non-single IP lands in a minute, but I’m very curious about what they cook there.
    I do love the landscaping that is being suggested through the Cars expansion at Magic Kingdom, I just wish it wasn’t taking over such a recognizable and relaxing section of the park. Also not big on the IP but that’s definitely more of a personal preference.
    Monsters Inc. at Hollywood Studios is back and forth for me. If it does replace Animation Courtyard, I feel like the park will feel more complete than it does at the moment. However, if it does replace Muppets, I think it’s a serious misstep considering the legacy of those characters and how Muppetvision 3-D is one of the franchise’s final remnants.

    • @StorybookAmusement
      @StorybookAmusement  4 месяца назад +3

      I wish Tropical Americas could've gone elsewhere in the park, but it surprisingly doesn't seem like they have too many options. The non-IP part of the land feels very Animal Kingdom-y, so I'm glad they're putting care into it! Good point.
      Cars stings on a few levels. I've been trying to think of other nice little nooks in that park and haven't come up with much.
      I agree! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Love it.

  • @bugsburrow

    I haven’t really been keeping up with disney this year, so this is my first time hearing about all of this!
    Tropical Americas looks very promising! Focusing on Antonio’s gift is such a creative idea for an animal kingdom attraction in my opinion, and a unique way to incorporate Encanto into the parks. It doesn’t feel as forced as other IP based attraction, as in it doesn’t feel like they are just dropping down a random movie’s story into an already existing land. They are actually trying to make it work with animal kingdom’s theme. Also they are going to make BANK off capybara souvenirs
    I’m going to really miss Dinosaur

    I couldn't agree more, my friend, I say give Dinoland USA a second chance in life, switch the Dino-Rama name to Pangaea, build new attractions and build an alternate Excavator with actual dinosaurs. Make a new land next door to Pandora called Land of Legends, extend the Wildlife Express railroad tracks and make a second destination to the South American animals, revive the Discovery River Boats with proper animatronics, a boat ride with animals based on The Jungle Book characters (basically an alternate take on Tiger Rapids Run) and build a Tarzan-themed roller coaster. If we're talking about beating Epic Universe.

    My perspective on Cars in Frontierland and them removing the Rivers of America for it is this: I do get people’s anger about the change and I do believe they’re are justified. However, Disney is not really filling the River with pavement, it’s replacing scenery with scenery of a national park! Like Charlie of Theme Snark said, it would add scenery and kinetic energy. I do however think it would be, like other comments have said, to just integrate Liberty Square and Frontierland into a Lands of America.

  • @rayay9581

    Fill in Rivers it not used anyway. Move Muppets to Lighting McQueen and retheme Rocking Roller Coaster to Electric Mayhem. Move Monster’s Laugh Floor into Muppets. The leaves Animation Courtyard for Zootopia and opens Tomorrowland for a full retheme.

    Does Disney not realize the nostalgia factor is a main reason for going back to Disney. I don't have kids but hope to one day and why would i ever being them there when its not even close to the same park i grew up with. Ill save the 17hour drive and go to Wisconsin dells then which is only 3 hours away.

    • @StorybookAmusement
      @StorybookAmusement  3 месяца назад +2

      I understand. Nostalgia is _a_ reason, but I wouldn't say it's the main reason. They have retained so many classic rides, but also people keep coming back because of new stuff. Pandora pumped life back into Animal Kingdom; Cosmic Rewind made EPCOT more exciting. I really do get it, but Disney has to keep it fresh too.

      Oh but you're forgetting the Rapunzel "spinner", lol! Also, let's not forget that this Lion King attraction is just replacing a previous plan (Galaxy's Edge), so Disney are really just shuffling the money around, rather than really announcing anything new for Paris.
