The music the Video Footage everything is great, even though I'm not old enough to remember this setting, I feel the nostalgia and would luv to time travel back to experience it.
My parents ran a Sinclair Truck Stop East of Lancaster, Ohio in the mid 50’s. Lots of interesting people and stories when life seemed simple through the eyes of a teenager.
My father ran a pumping station for Sinclair in rural Pennsylvania in the 40s and 50s. Now nothing but the cement base of the pumps is left. Simpler times yes, but he died at 45 with something that could be easily fixed today. Try to keep perspective on "The good old days."
My mom use to buy gas from a Sinclair gas station not far from our house. Pure Oil stations too. Remember Esso then it was Enco for awhile then Exxon. It was marketed back then as the top tier gas. My dad would pull in with Olds 98 tell the attendant "filler up". While gas was pumping guy would do the windshield check under the hood. Guy would come back, that'll be 5.30 sir. Boy that seemed like a lot of money . Many times in high school I'd get .50 worth.
As kids we had an old Nash that burned oil like crazy. We'd go to this one station that sold Bulk oil. My dad use to tease us. He'd say I bet yall tell the attendant Filler up with oil and check the gas. It 2as a Direct Station. During the so called gas wars I've bought gas at this station for 17 or 18 cents a gallon. Bulk oil at 10 or 12 cents a quarter. Cost more than the gas.
Are all these still operational in 2023??? I’d really want to visit, i am always looking for vintage preserved places to see in real life 😊 This videos is 10 years old, and many places closed around Covid, so my hopes are not high 😢
How many remember driving your automobile next to the was a hose your wheel went to make a sound someone comes out good mr Gode what can l do for you this morning you tell how much to put in then while gasoline is flowing he’d wipe your windows clean after spraying cleaner on them you got free air road maps from the oil companies stations and the toilets were never locked and free today I wonder how do it in thier fashions dress while chasing some for the key most often you were know by your name much more honest than today if you donot buy a fill up the pump at some is rigged when full you hear click and then it runs up a. Few cents more no one is squeezing the handle after a few times each few cents more adds up I called consumer affairs who almost had to put one place out of business too much screw you these daze honesty got me future in love boy girl amigos and business I have no use for dishonest volks and found one place that no longer sells gasoline only repair service
similar times less expensive gas better built car nicer people before chem spraying in the Atmosphere and covid the list goes on shame people have no morals anymore all they care about is themselves and their cell phone driving reckless again the list goes on

@@Siren851 LOL Love the dialog! takes me back 45 years!
And don't forget the Green Stamps
😉
And don't forget the pumps used to ding on every 10 cents worth of gas being pumped. Air , water and maps were free.
