    The mysterious-looking creature mantis shrimp. It's a delicacy in Thailand. It's best fried with garlic, or eaten raw&marinated. The round one is horseshoe crab. I think people eat the eggs. But it can cause severe allergic reation. So please be careful.
    Buffet scene in Thailand is awesome!! You should explore more of it❤ Keep up the good work!

      @@ChovyTravel Have you tried "Ping Noey On-the-Roof" near MRT Petchaburi station? It's popular among young locals for all you can eat Moo Krata and hot clay pot, which is very affordable and without time limit. Please make sure to go on a clear evening to enjoy the rooftop atmosphere😊

    That seafood buffet looks fantastic. There are so many seafood choices, and they all look so fresh! 7:30 That's a mantis shrimp, and you're supposed to eat it cooked. LOL 17:05 That is a horseshoe crab, and you can only eat the eggs... it is definitely an acquired taste. Usually, the eggs are mixed with a salad. I love seafood, but not crazy about the horseshoe crab.

    the one that looks like marinated shrimp is mantis shrimp.
    the one with the hard shell is a flathead lobster
    the snails that you got are razor clams, blood cockles, spiral bablon snail (the one that u said you've over cooked it) and the one that looks alienated with tiny little eggs inside the shell is a horseshoe crab. 😊

      @@ChovyTravel we call that “Mang Da”
      My curiosity tempted me to find out how come we call that haha.
      It said when they are mating, the male one will stay on top of the female one and do nothing l, just release its sperm (not sure if we call that for sea livings). Even when the female one laying eggs after the mating, the male one still wont help anything. Just taking advantages from the female. Now that makes sense to call it gigolo. 🤣

    Hi Anthony and Caroline! I was at MUNGKORN SEAFOOD in April 2023. It was a great deal but sitting in front of hot coals during the extreme heat and humidity of April was torture! My only complaint was that the workers were mostly Burmese and we asked them countless times for grilled fish but we never got it. I think the workers weren't too fluent in Thai and didn't understand our request. I would go back again but not during the hottest season in Thailand.

    Wow, that's heaven for unlimited price. Crazy.! Shrimp, squid, shellfish, seafood. Don't steam or grill overcooked for too long. It will be dry and not juicy.
    - Round-shaped eggs are horseshoe crab eggs. You have to make a spicy salad like papaya salad or mix it with fried rice and shrimp oils in its head then pour seafood sauce and eat it with kimchi. please try it again.
    - The lobster you see is not a lobster. It's a 7-color lobster. It's cheaper, smaller, and has softer meat. It has long whiskers. The informal English word is dragon shrimp because they have long whiskers. Lobster has big claws.
    -Enjoy your meal. I'm hungry now. 😋😋😋😋😋

    Horseshoe crabs, most Thai people eat only eggs. In my personal opinion, I think that buffet restaurants should not include it as an ingredient. Because it requires expertise in cooking and handling. The same goes for mantis shrimp, which looks like a flat shrimp. As you said, it has quite a bit of meat. It requires a chef or someone who is skilled in handling it. If you want to eat mantis shrimp, I recommend going to Sriracha, Chonburi Province. That place is famous for seafood and mantis shrimp. There is a very famous mantis shrimp omakase sashimi restaurant run by a Thai chef. Even Japanese people have to fly here to eat.

    • @nestorgrey
      @nestorgrey 12 дней назад +1

      Some species of horseshoe crabs are as venomous as pufferfish. Therefore, cooking requires an expert such as local villagers or trained chefs. The difference between edible and poisonous species is in the tail. The square tail is edible, while the round tail is poisonous. The flat-bodied shrimp or lobster-like crabs are not poisonous, but you must know how to handle them. Otherwise, you will have almost no meat and waste money because they are quite expensive. If you handle them well, they will be very delicious.
