As an angels fan I’m very glad to have Nolan on our team. Having a guy who can get on base at an elite rate is a huge win for them. I could see him becoming a Freddie freeman like player. Win Shohei likely leaving, having Nolan pick up some of the offense will be huge for getting the halos back into the postseason.
@@fredyuen2489 This storyline is so overplayed. We have more players than Nolan. The biggest thing with the Angels is staying healthy and having consistent pitching. We've got a whole new coaching staff and training staff. Things will be better next season with or without Ohtani (although of course we want Ohtani), and if not next season, then absolutely in 2025 with our new young core. We have a tough division to play, but we've always had the players to get us to the playoffs, they just can't stay healthy.
@@MusicKidRem it’s over played because it’s true, Ohtani and Trout pretty much carry the whole team. And Rendon sucks since he came to the Angels. It’s just like the mariners and how they can’t make the post season except once in a long blue moon.
@@fredyuen2489 yes, I didn’t say it wasn’t true. I’m saying it’s overplayed, meaning that it’s everyone’s response to anything Angels related. It’s been said a million times. It’s like a song that plays on repeat. Everyone is playing the same song, there’s other songs; there’s other things to talk about regarding the Angels. As I’ve mentioned, we have a new young core to get excited about.
I hope Ohtani recognizes that too. Last year sucked but largely cuz most of the team was injured most of the year. There were a lot of holes but a lot of people (moniak, shanuel and neto) also really stepped up, with a healthy team they could be great.
This video feels more like a love letter to a buddy showing you appreciate them. Best video I've watched this week. Thank you for allowing us to learn more about this man
If he can develop power, the angels might have a great player on their hands. The batters eye he has for the age is incredible. Let’s hope my team turns it around one day with the now young core they have!
Great video as usual! As someone who’s played with that beast there’s no way to describe how good he really is but this vid is about as close as you can get
I am an Angels fan. I have seen many players over the years play for the team of the greats and not so great ones. However, I will tell anyone this. Our team doesn’t care what our prospects are ranked since we can tell by just watching them. Nolan past history in his style of hitting I knew that he would be something special and he showed it every day. He reminds me of the style of Michael Stefanic and David Fletcher. All of these players love getting on base no matter what and putting the ball in play each time. Each player here could deffently get better on the team. For example, Nolan says he wants more power, he will deffently get that in due time and will get better defense with Ron. Stefanic gets on base a lot too and pretty sure won the minor league batting title and has inproved a lot on his defense this year and hitting similar to his minor league after focusing waymore. David focused on striking out less and and try spraying his ball more wildly on base, but he needs to raise is on base average this season when no one on base since it is around 260, but when people on it goes to like 320. That is insaine numbers. Then we have Neto, that looks like an elite Shortstop who get even better next season with Ron help. His reach area will probably get even better with Ron do as good or better than Simmons time in the past. Nolan also has some insaine good pop for home runs with elite eye. He only ended his year on not so good way since he was still battling injury from catching amazing play from Texas months ago. But what makes Neto an elite shortstop players is him knowing who throwout and using his elite arm with one of the fastest in the game. If he sees someone going to third he will check there and throw them out. I have never seen anyone do that on our team before for a shortstop before. All these players get made fun of all the time on the Angel's until you realize the rebuild is practically done. I wanted a new amazing coach last year, but this year he is here. Will Ohtani stay? No clue, but the Angels have enough pieces filled and to go out to get to see who will join this team next coming season. Every Angels player wants to play and wants improve badly to get there. Spring Training will show us who will be there. Even our minor leagues expect a chance to play too, so it is very competitive down there. Have a great day anyone reading this and hope some of these stories are said more and not overlooked since when Nolan cameup doing all these amzing things, when Zach, Stefanic, Mickey, and etc, not single media person wanted cover atleast most of them for a long while.
I loved watching Nolan play on the Cape in 2022 then going to the Majors the next year. Another guy he mentioned, Zach Neto, played for the team I work with in the Cape, the Brewster Whitecaps, and was our shortstop on a championship team in 2021. Love seeing Cape guys make it.
That walk rate for such a young dude will be great. He knows what’s important and what will make him valuable long term. Every player with high on base percentages always gets paid well.
The way you gassed up his second at bat was super cool. Not a lot of people would be able to see that perspective. It was a great at bat for a 21 year old in his second plate appearance
I dont know if he broke baseball but he's had a good start so far. Angels also kinda rushed to bring him up since they were still hoping to make playoffs
Sweet spot percentage isn’t about hitting it on the sweet spot of the bat. It’s hitting the ball at an ideal launch angle. Especially the launch angle aspect of barrel rate
As an Angels fan, I am beyond excited for our young core of players: Schanuel, Neto, Moniak, O'Hoppe, Joyce, Detmers, Silseth, and Adell (all ages 21-24). This young group is criminally underrated, and in a couple of years, I think we can do something really great. With Moose as a mentor, it's almost reminiscent of the young core that got the Royals to back-to-back WS. A realistic hope for next season, even without the possibility of Ohtani, is that we'll be competing for a wildcard until the end of the season. It's just a matter of staying healthy. And with an all-new coach and training staff, this is a real possibility.
I hope they really deliver something. Trout deserves the playoff time, and him being in a mentor role while doing it would be really special, even if he’s no longer the superstar.
Even if Shohei leaves, I’m really excited to see Schanuel, Neto, O’Hoppe, Joyce, and maybe even Adell play for the Angels next year. Also LA can suck it, we don’t play in LA. Stupid name change by Arte
Joyce and Schanuel are the ones I'm most excited about. It's unfortunate that Ohtani is about 80% of the team's output. I have no doubt the young guys will be better next year. But the team won't be able to replace the 12 war that Ohtani was on pace for. I think they will have a fun season with the young guys. But I'm not sure they can be competitive if Ohtani walks.
I want this young core to be owned by someone else so badly. I have so little faith in Moreno and the training staff that I can't even get excited about the great young core that's emerging.
Pretending college isn't minor league baseball level is delusional, by year 3 you are more then capable. Those MLB GMs simply send them to the minors to keep them as RFAs for as long as possible.
Great video bro! Nolan's got a fan here, hope he keeps working hard. His approach reminds me of Brett Gardner - I'd love to se him infont of Judge for a while 🏟
Big thank you to Nolan for making this video possible btw :)

Probably not getting back into the postseason because you can’t have Nolan carry the team like Shohei was expected to.

He was on the Trash Pandas, that's enough for me to root for him
I love these vids cause they give me new players to root for
I got to watch him play last year and he is amazing. Can’t wait to see what he does in MLB
He reminds me of John Olerud with his plate discipline and bat-to-ball skills. Hopefully his power and defense continue to develop. He's fun to watch.

From a Trash Panda to an Angel
He was great on my fantasy team as a pickup in place of injury. Would do again 👌
If he can develop power in his bat, hes going to be a huge asset. A .402 obp in his first 29 games is soto-esque. He just lacks the pop that sogo has.

Also helps that the Angels were missing half the roster. Hope he can get more play time next year.
Dudes a starter regardless
Looks like he can develop into a Wally Joyner-like player - good average, good OBP, moderate power, lots of doubles, good defense at first base.
Glad to see someone defending Monmouth’s honor

Once MLB pitchers get to know you they'll adjust to what you do and exploit every weakness you have. That's when the real stars shine. Good luck!

Judge will be 37 or something when he’s a free agent and can sign with a new team, because homeboy isn’t getting traded.
