Irina Rodnina & Alexander Zaitsev 1980 Europeans LP

Irina returns to international competition after the birth of baby Sasha in 1979. And does she!!!! Her 11th European ttle came with this LP which interestingly is quite different from the one they skated at the Olympics in parts.

Well, the scores are high because there are 5 Communist bloc judges out of 9...hmmm. I also noticed the lack of any throws by this pair. I dont think Tai and Randy would have beaten them though. Tough with the judging the way it was
