How I unbox the Roly LaserMATIC MK2 XW all by myself. It's a beast. But one person can do it without hurting themselves. This is the nicest machine I have unboxed to date. Roly has done a fantastic job with developing a user friendly diode laser.

I saw the unboxing video of the Lahobbyguy, and I noticed one difference: his unboxing knife is much bigger than yours LOL. But your videos are much better!!!
Yea! Harding part of setting it up is getting it out of the box!!😂
Woohoo from. Jay Hilgenberg A.K.A. @Drirot that was pronounced Dry Rot. I am jealous.
Now I have to get my large hardwood blanks prepped and ready. But that will have to wait until after this weekend's festivities.
Congratulations 🎉 Steve. I hope I win on Saturday. You make the setup look super easy.
Good luck!
Does it have a pass through slot to run larger projects? If so, what are the dimensions of the width and height you can run through it?
It does have a pass through. It is 1" tall and 24" wide. hobowithwood.com/roly
Hi Steve, great video. I just ordered the MK2 XW a few days ago. Thank you for your unboxing. Just curious... what is the other machine closest to the wall? It looks like it has a higher cover than the XW. Cheers!
The other laser is the Roly MK2. It only sits higher because it is sitting on some 3D printed legs.
@@HoboWithWood Ah... right... I was wondering :). TY
Almost Christmas in July.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
That was the most simple laser assembly video ever.. Roly has their act together.
I agree 100%.
Hello all! Im trying to order one but i cant order a complete unit. I have to order individual components. Can someone tell me what all I will need? I dont want to order duplicates or miss ordering anything. Wish i could just order it complete. Forgive my ignorance. Thank you ❤
what are you wanting to order?
My machine is supposed to arrive today. It's raining so we stated home and are anxiously awaiting its arrival. It was supposed to be here yesterday but we all know how FedEx is!
Steve, I agree with you. Roly has the BEST customer service in the world and they protect (package) their machine so well. I have the MK 10/30 and it's a beast of a machine. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with your new one. Thanks for the videos you produce. You and Rich are my go-to guys for all things laser.
Husband has to go on disability maybe we can win on saturday and he could have a side gig for some cash to keep us going while waiting on SSDI!
Good luck. After multiple heart attacks and strokes, I was still turned down for disability.
I have MK 2 and Mk 2 XW delivered last Monday. Roly Automation is top notch. Super boxing of their machines and Add-Ons.
Yes they are!
Congrats Steve. Love the music as well
Thanks.
How do I become a tester on my channel of one of these beauty's
I bought this one. Manufacturers didn't start asking me to demo their products until after my channel was monetized. Keep plugging away. They will come a knocking.
congrats on the new laser... quick question.... when and what time is the Roly give away?
The anniversary live stream is this Saturday at 3PM EST.
@@HoboWithWood thanks
Congratulations Steve! I am so excited for you. Thanks for this unboxing video.
Thanks for watching
Hi Steve great video the roll looks like a big machine and the music was perfect hope to see it working soon.
Steven 🇬🇧
Gotta few things to do to prepare for this weekend's celebration. Also, gotta prep the large hardwood blanks I'm making just for the XW.
Have Leo/Roly figured out how to not have the fans always on when the machine is on with this new version? Is the camera integrated into the machine now or do you need to still hookup 2 cables to your computer each time?
Thanks for the unboxing, looks like a really well built machine. I hope he decides to create an IR laser module at some point as a swap option.
My understanding is the MK3 is going to have modified fan controls. The IR module should be available soon and it should be backwards compatible. I don't know of plans to integrate the camera. I honestly don't know if you can transmit the different types of signals required to communicate with the laser and camera through one cable.
@@HoboWithWood Awesome that’s good to hear, I’m considering the MK2XW. I’m wondering if there will be a sort of upgrade you could do to the Mk3 as in maybe swap out a control board and fan to get that feature. I really think Roly has one of the best looking well built machines. Just don’t know yet if I should bite the bullet and jump into C02 right away for acrylics or stay with diode for now business wise. Thanks for the reply! Have a great day.
@@TheExtremeElementz IF you were to invest in a CO2, I would recommend nothing less than a 100W machine. With as powerful as the diodes are getting, spending the money on anything less than 100W just to be able to work with acrylics is a huge investment. You better be planning on a large return on your investment making acrylic items. I doubt that will be the case. A 100W CO2 or better could do your acrylics and if doing production work with woods or cork or slate, the larger machine will make short time of it. In my opinion anything less is a large waste of money. I have a 60W. I hardly ever turn it on. hobowithwood.com/roly The XW is one of the best options on the market today. There will always be something better coming. Waiting for the next best thing is never ending.
@@HoboWithWoodthis here is the comment I’ve been looking for, for over a week. Thank you very much. You’ve earned my sub with your thorough responses.
Yeah congratulations on your new laser mk2 xw
Thanks!
Congratulations! I bet you can’t wait to get started!
Can't wait!
Steve, glad you got it before anniversary.
It is setup and operational. I've got to do some rearranging of the shop to get both exhausts vented. I will do that next week. Got something coming up with a little more priority.
I'm PROUD FOR YOU!!!! Congrats....
Thanks!
I can't wait for the live on Saturday
I am excited to be able to make somebody's day.
