Vassals should be stripped of their own diplomacy. They should be treated as part of ruling faction.
Also AI should have reliability mechanics as well with the same consequences as for the player.
@@SeductiveCrab yeah idk why that’s not a thing, it’d fix the whole issue and give more personality to certain factions. Have high elves nearly always never break their treaties, have dark elves more likely to break their treaties and have skaven be super likely to back stab you. And then tie it into their strength, so if they’re powerful skaven are likely to betray you etc. Something like that
there are mods that at least come close to not allowing war to be declared on vassals.
Or itd be cool if they have to run their deals past you first

That's what I like about strategic games. You can go against the lore and history.
Well, Slaneesh is a very unconventional Chaos God - I can see him engaging in trade deals just to give his cultists more leverage in the society he’s targeting for corruption.
My favorite part was the genuine joy you took in murdering the seduced bloodletter unit with friendly fire magic at the end.

Its really disappointing that CA didn't fix the Diplomatic issues with vassals (military partners declaring war on them etc). It was one of the things that bothered me the most in WH1&2 and I think it's one of the few things that can't reliably fixed via mods (either not possible, or too brittle between all the DLCs & official patches). CA REALLY needs to take another look at this and at least have AIs take an empires overlord/allies into account before wardeccing.
It was an issue in 3k as well. Shame.

One would think that with all the effort they put into Slaanesh vassalizing other factions, CA would have fixed vassal diplomacy. As it is, I think I'll be avoiding vassals just as much as allies in game3.
i was thinking that a crown of command, wich is not a very good item in general, might actualy be perfect for Slaanesh factions. You use it on a charmed unit, to make sure it fights to the death and it get’s whipped out.
I think the correct term is wiped out, but Slaneesh being Slaanesh, whipped out also works :>

Demonic units do not rout, they disintegrate slowly just like undead so no need.
@@sadatothe4204 But Orcs, Empire, ogres, cathay, skaven, Kislev, mortal Mono-god units, Norsca, warriors of chaos, dwarfs, and beastmen don't disintegrate. (Yes, I did just list every non-chaos faction I could remember that is on the map)
@@sadatothe4204 the ideea would to keep them in the fight for as long as possible, delaying their death ( you do pay a decent sum for them). Crown of comand can help with that.

Slaanesh is gonna be really fun to play in co-o campaigns I think.
So many ways you can frustrate the other player, both directly and indirectly.
Imagine making his biggest military ally your vassal for example.

After all the rework with diplomacy it feels really weird they still haven’t worked out the vassal thing
I can imagine a PvP campaign vs Slaanesh could be frustrating with your units getting seduced before the battle.
Khorne spawns bloodhosts, Nurgle spread plague, Tzeentch gives a lot of crazy stuff.

Super excited for this playthrough. Slaanesh looks insanely underpowered with Cav sucking so bad in this version of the game. Want to know how you overcome their shortcomings

Damn near a decade later and CA STILL can't deal with the AI's brain cancer attacking your vassals. Just...so stupid. In all games that have them, no matter your relationship with them, no matter how much stronger you are than them, no matter haw far away in the map they are from your vassal, at LEAST one ally will always always ALWAYS declare war on them. It's all so tiresome.
Don't have allies, only vassals. The vassal swarm works well in every game from Rome 2 on. If you get multiple vassals eventually it's like something flips in the AI's brain and it decides to go ham.
Honestly, dealing with the vassal issue should be something they could easily patch. Make it so that vassals take on your relation with other places. So in the Khugath situation, he'd like kislev then because he likes you.
Alternatively, simply make it impossible for an ally to declare war on a vassel, or make vassels immune to war declarations. I personally think the former would be the best, but I'm not a coder.
Would be cool if you could rename units you seduce. So if the enemy army survives it keeps units with wacky names
How well do the AI use these mechanics? That seduce a unit seems pretty crazy if the AI can use it properly.
It could never affect the player unless a public order penalty was incurred if you went to war with a faction you with friendly with

Seducing units from an enemy army should at the very least disband them when the battle is over. Regardless of the outcome of the battle, can't imagine they would just let them rejoin after fighting for the other side...
Slanesh are my favorite demon faction. If you can win the initial Skarbrand battle, then you can start to steam roll.

I found out very quickly that you kill the army around Skarbrand. He can easily knock out 25% of N’kari’s health in one blow

Just started new Immortal Empires campaign and my ally declared war on newly created vassal. That was frustrating since I already have multiple enemies at my back
Personally I think the combination of the shielding mechanic and how badly you can cheese the AI with it, and just stupidly strong ranged units (if you haven't seen what a unit of basic Flamers can do to even the most elite armored and shielded targets, you should try!) makes Tzeentch the most OP faction in the hands of the player, but Khorne is definitely a close second.

Slaanesh have the best marketing. Humans and elves hate them, but Slaanesh still make their way in.
this slaanes really a cool faction... though we need to do plenty of non battle thing to make battle work in our favor. And i think about the diplomatic "flaw" , the easiest for CA to fix that is make the "Vassal"-ed faction got the same diplomatic relation as its master to others, and give a fixed rule that the vassal wont be able to rebel againts the master for at least 20 turn or more... or at least that work only when you play as Slaanesh. I dunno, hope CA got something to be done about it...

You got slaanesh wrong. The beauty part is subjective, they may lure you in with "normal" standard of beauty first but then they will corrupt you until you are so deprave that you into babe that is related to farm animal.
Slaanesh has gotten less and less erotic over the years.

Legend needs to use Control Groups.
I would love to see this simple fix to slaanesh being bad in sieges. No ranged puts them at a MASSIVE disadvantage. CA could just make slaanesh inflict siege attrition immediately. The presence corrupts troops and make them abandon post. This forces enemies to sally out so slaanesh can actually use their mobility in a field battle.

The fact they haven't sorted out some of the OBVIOUS problems with diplomacy such as the vassal problems grinds my gears... Still bought the game tho xD
So since Slaanesh is able to vassal every other faction except for other Demons of Chaos ... Do you theoretically have access to ALL rosters (except those other demons unless u play as undivided) by getting outposts? Or can't Slaanesh build outposts at allied cities?

Which difficulty setting effects auto resolve. Campaign or battle? I heard it was different from previous total wars.
They had to have good mechanics to make up for their bad armies. If CA buffs cavalry then Slaneesh will be OP.
Looking forward to mortal empires where you can probably dominate vampires and orcs far more easily than Kizkev and Empire.

i thought the starting location for slaanesh was really hard. she is sorely missing a chaos warrior unit like the mirror guard. against khorne all her infantry just melt instantly on contact.
it's hard and fun (not an innuendo) but yea it is something i expect to be filled out when they integrate the old chaos dlc from warhammer 1 (if they do that)
I'm having the same problem in my N'kari campaign. Just rewatched the fight part of the video and am still not quite sure how he killed all those bloodletters, just via shadow magic? I've been considering restarting and allying that mortal chaos faction closeby to recruit some of their warriors as anvils.
@@MacGregor1991 ok so after retrying a lot of times here's the combined wisdom from me and my mate:
slaanesh marauder's are garbage. the whip defenders seem like the best lineholders but it's actually the spear marauders cuz of their brace and charge reflect.
your marauders are expendable meat shields like it says, they just need to survive long enough for your demonettes to get around the flank. spears are best for this.
demonettes can absolutely shred infantry to pieces if they flank or surround an enemy. in fact because all your units are faster than khorne's so what you should do is just cycle charge demonettes into the enemy flank and they can't really stop you. this way you get the double damage from their trait
harpies are perhaps extra important for slaanesh because it's extra crucial you tie up enemy missiles or cavalry. however i find it's not as important against khorne.
n'kari and all your cavalry, monsters etc all have insane speed and so long as you micro they're effectively uncatchable and can charge over and over. they're also really fragile. slaanesh units are glass cannons you need to micro and handhold. focus on short wins.
on the campaign side:
you need to rely on your devotee armies. have them as reinforcements or as a suicide squad to soften the enemy up. technologies that buff them are good to get. cults and spreading gifts of slaanesh with your army helps you spam it more often.
you need to wipe out Khorne ASAP. you can besiege skarbrand's capital before the first chaos rifts even spawn if you play your cards right.
getting an alluress with shadow magic as fast as possible is important as slaanesh magic has no good damaging spells. just buffs.
leveling up N'kari's blue path is a bad idea. more casualties post battle etc. can be nice for some extra cash but really you want to level up her fighting and magic.
lastly seducing enemy blood letters is good. take away their damaging unit and give yourself something to punch through chaos warrior's armor with.
Here’s another example where I wonder how this will play out when it’s “ai vs player.” So, will Slanesh be able to take units from the player’s army? If they do, and if you win, do you get the units back?
Yes he will seduce your units. You can get them back as long as they don't die during the battle.

Slaanesh has just seduced Brettonia. And with the amount of Slaanesh blessings she has, the Fay Enchantress is likely going to be next. WTF.
It is super weird that onlu human, elven and beastmen factions can be seduced. Like, I get the lizardmen or orks being immune to that. Dwarfs, tomb kings and ogres kinda make sense bcs they are resistant to chaos (even tho two of those factions are ultra greedy while the other one is ultra gluttonous so it's kinda weird slaanesh cant use that.) But skaven and vampire factions? They should totally be prone to that.
Skaven (and chaos dwarfs for that matter) have their own daemonic influences and chaos gods to worship and scheme with. I have no doubt that a grey seer might work with a daemon of slaanesh, but the skaven are too backstab-happy to ever truly be entranced by Slaanesh: they'd break the ruse themselves or never enter it because they'd assume Slaanesh would break it.
As for the vampires (and tomb kings), they're not super prone to falling to chaos usually because undeath is anathema to everything chaos is - it's stagnation, emotionless, and cold. There are individual vampires and necromancers who cooperate with chaos (Mengari the Old and Tzeentch, Kemmler in general...), but these are usually in a "I'm going to collect more power and ultimately kick off these daemons" capacity. Chaos just doesn't really factor in for the vast majority of undead - and even then more of them would probably gravitate to tzeentch.
CA better give me an anointed druchi/slannesh expansion hurry up and take my money!
