    it makes sense that its op but i don't even mind, its just mindless battle after battle after battle, which can be fun sometimes. The more variations in gameplay the better. not every faction needs to be super complex to play

    You know..I really hope they use the third game as a way to fix Nakai, thats his whole backstory, hes the demon slaying gator, maybe he has a unique debuff on Demon units? Or maybe a buff, something that could lead to a rework.

    I love the new way lords and heros are marked during the battle. Instead of them just having the same flags as everyone else, you have their portrait along with their level. Very easily readable and conveys all needed information at a glance, exactly what it needs to do.
    On the same note I initially disliked the "Zzz" on idle units, watching it now it's very easy to notice and I'm starting to like it, serves it's purpose really well.

      The zzz on units in huge melee blobs in particular is nice, since it can be hard to tell if a unit is doing nothing, or waiting its turn.

    Whats interesting is how it seems that pre-battle speeches are back as well, albeit when the battle itself starts, rather than actually before the battle. I noticed that with the Daemon Prince fights

      I noticed that in a campaign with Cathay, and Miaoling made two different speeches (didn't really understood them though ith the streamer talking XD).

    Love to see this. Taurox was similar, where Beasts are usually kind of dull, but his campaign was absolutely hilarious.

      I kind of expected that tbh. He's got no ranged or magic options, so playing him on very hard battle difficulty would be absolutely miserable if he wasn't at least a little busted in melee.

    I hope they do not nerf the mechanics. Like this you can play a melee army and actually have loats of fun and since its singleplayer it dosent matter if its busted or not.

      I certaintly didn't expect him to be weakest at actual battles. Campaign superiority should belong to Tzench, battle one to Khorn, diplomatic one to Slanesh and settlement building to Nurgle.

    You haven’t witnessed the majesty of Skarbrand until you’ve gone done the weapon damage skill tree branch, which eventually gives him 3000 weapon strength at 100% stack (meaning 3-4 shooting most heroes and lords).

    His killing power can go up to 3k (probably overkill) with the chainsword. Saw it on MilkandCookiesTW.
    Killed Nakari in 4 hits.

    I think that Khorne not being that good in battle is kind of a good thing. It makes the campaign feel more like a wave of chaos relentlessly hitting your enemies when combined with their campaign mechanics, just like I think Khorne should feel. You aren't outsmarting your enemy and tricking them into submission, you aren't finding ways to have the perfect counter to an enemy tactic or equipment, you are drowning them in blood and skulls until you win.

    When he invaded the humans at lvl 35 everyone else was still like 20 or less . He murdered everyone and nearly took my whole army out when we joint attacked. It’s stupid crazy

    That unholy manifestation can be used to gain movement after you're attacked, and if any enemy armies are nearby they'll come in as reinforcements so I've used it to wipe out armies that were too far away for me to attack myself. 🤣

    Have you seen Indypride's video yet?
    Khornate forces have access to a unique Chainsword weapon, which also has the "Slaughter & Carnage" ability, but instead of a 100% bonus cap on weapon and ap damage, it has a cap of 300%. Skarbrand can get this weapon pretty much in the beginning of the campaign during the first 5 turns in Khorne's domain.
    In Indypride's campaign, Skarbrand ran amok on the battlefield with 3,2k weapon strength, 2-shotting heroes and 4-shotting N'kari arround turn 30. Considering that all of Skarbrand's fighter traits increase his weapon strength, I guess the limit would be more like 4 or 5k. That also means that Skarbrand basically becomes a 1-man-doomstack, allowing you to let him do the battles for you while you keep the rest of your army in reserve for sieges and the like, so you don't need to worry about replenishment that much.
    Guess we'll see some nerfs for Khorne in the future. CA overdid his faction a little bit. :

      The rift don’t open till turn 30ish right, and khorne will take the weapon back if u enter other realms so better to take the weapon last

    What’s not to like? They immediately get access to super armored chaos knights of khorne that have frenzy and a shield. Their first tier demon infantry is anti infantry and pretty beefy. A few turns after that and you get halberds also with frenzy. Really good khorne dogs that just get better with chariot and rider upgrades. You get a heavy metal motor bike that shoots gouts of fires and does donuts in blobs of enemies. It may not have ranged units but with all that armor a ranged ai army is going to have a rough time doing anything to your early game chaos knights especially with all the doggos and furries running/flying about. Also skarbrand is a beast.

    Honestly, I feel like there were a lot of ways to better exemplify how Skarbrand is such a strong faction, especially more than saying his units are weak. I agree that he is really strong. His units are able to do pretty good in combat if you work them correctly, using your Chaos Warriors to hold a line while your Bloodletters punch their infantry with that cover, and using your Hounds and Furies to flank and disrupt their ranged units, plus using your AOE buffs and monstrous units to shred the enemy and keep your men alive. That survivability, plus their abilities of foreign replenishment, up to -50% global recruitment costs, and 1-turn global recruitment duration for basic infantry, as well as Skarbrand himself being an absolute menace to infantry, characters, cavalry, even enemies with charge defenses, what with life regeneration, magical fire attacks, terror, high speed, and multiple self-buffs.
    I agree that he is super strong, with his biggest downsides being his high unit costs, and lack of unit varieties, but I still feel like the rest of those buffs make that up tenfold

    the siege gameplay looks so much more nuanced and tactical. I didn’t hate sieges nearly as much as most did in WH2, but man this is a huge step up

    Ascendency likelihood is based on relative amount of favour, armies and settlements a God controls, not random luck only.

      I mean... the Blood Host thing sounded pretty ridiculous from the start, honestly its implementation in game is weaker than I was expecting (I wasn't expecting them to be full of top tier units or anything but I was expecting them to be full stacks of Bloodletters lead by a (non-exalted) Bloodthirster, I also expected them to be something that could completely snowball (one host would become 2 which would become 3, then 4 and then they'd be getting new armies faster than losing them) but the fact that Blood Hosts created by Blood Hosts have 5 fewer units makes that seem somewhat less likely (harder to set up in any case), the fact that the blog post said that "The power of these armies scales with how many you have created" made me think that the opposite would be the case if anything
      also the blog post said that Blood Hosts would spawn with full movement, seems like that got changed since Legend showed that they actually spawn with no movement.
      like I don't know what others were thinking but I came away from the Khorne mechanics blog post thinking that they were basically an entire race of Tauroxes with extra blood and rage and snowballing.

      The blog post actually made me think that Kohrne was the weakest of all Chaos on the campaign map. They don't make it easy to understand on those posts. It's A LOT of vague language.

    Learned my lesson the hard way my first playthrough with khorne. Ignored Slanesh up north and they came down and smacked me later. Second playthrough I watched this video beforehand and made sure to stomp them out early

    Khorne is insanely op when it comes to rushing and brutal melee.. iv won hopeless battles just because of how insane khorne units are when it comes to melee. 4-8 exalted blood letters and 2x blood thirsters and a couple of minotaurs can pretty much wreck any army. Iv had battles with cathay where i took down their 3x elite armies in same battle by putting 4x exalted bls and 2x bts at the reinforcements spawn point

    Resetting army movement after a battle is something we really didn't need. It shouldn't have gone any further than Tiqtaqto's rite. AI simply can't handle it. Instead of responding to where you might move, now it has to predict where you can move and account for pin balling? It already can barely estimate good engagements...

    My khorne champion is lvl15,at turn 8 when not mcuh high tier troops was out. And my champion with research and 1 flag can achieve 0.5% HP per sec. Which makes him nearly invincible

    Auto resolve is broken. For an army of Kisliv ice queen with all ice guards it wins with almost no casualties every time. My ogre campaign army could easily stomp it, but would get completely destroyed by those same armies. Every battle with ogres tells me auto will lose 80% of my forces. me fighting I maybe lose 3-8%.

    regarding the auto-resolve: I think it's so incorrect because it has NO IDEA how to try and figure out how towers, walls, and supply lines are going to impact the battle (because how useful they are is entirely dependant on where they are placed), so it just gives a natural buff to anyone defending their city, regardless of the units. I mean it still said "pyrrhic victory" after you brought over a SECOND army to help, and you already outnumbered the defenders with the first army alone, and sure enough it was a ridiculously easy "decisive victory" in the end of the day, and I'm sure it would have been the same result even without the second army, the battle was basically over by the time they reached the middle of the map where the action was

    To be fair though, all the chaos gods need to be overpowered A.F to beat the Order tide. Would actually be nice for a change to be the last Order faction standing against a Chaos tide, never seen that in over a thousand hours of game play.

    by the sounds this is a very momentum-based army and as soon that takes a big hit it might take a while to recover if you are not prepared for it so move fast but get ready to take tat hit if you lose 100s of troops long story short its a 2x sword

      @@toggle3927 Sure but it's not the mechanic itself which is strong. It's tuned in a way as to be strong. Imagine if you could only get one every 10 wins and you'd get to use it for a grand total of 2 turns before it disappears? People were rightfully worried since the faction has no powerful ranged or magic options, which seem to make them pretty weak on the field. Luckily this mechanic at least makes them strong on the campaign map.

    Oh man, i really like all of this - but it makes me so sad to think about needing to wait not only for mortal empires, but Grimhammer too. Without Grimhammer TWW just doesnt feel complete anymore and as soon as i see certain doomstacks i miss the elite and rare-system and the unit-caps. But on the other hand, mortal empires in 3 with SFO is gonna be brilliant to play.

    I got in a settlement battle with Khorne (me as Khorne attacking) agains a Slaneeshi army, the settlement had only two entrances, both pointing south. I can not get through the doorframe, the bottlenecks are incredibly frustrating.

    "In an even fight." Does that mean without enemy archers/ranged units other than artillery? Because that's what Even means. I thought Khorne had GREAT melee troops. Though the Skull Cannons kinda suck.

    The much more broken mechanic with Khorne is his Bloodletting mechanic. You can get anything from 45-70 growth accross all provinces per Army. So what you do is you just have 1 army being followed by 3 single Lords (maybe a cultist each if you have the slots so they can keep up easier) and thats an easy 180 to 280 Growth per turn in all your provinces. I did that with 2 full armies and 6 single lords and grew my entire empire from Tier 1-2 settlements to tier 5 in like 20 turns. which was complete overkill btw. I couldnt even support all the building upgrades anymore because everything grew so damn fast. better stick to 3-4 Lords total so maybe 2 armies accompanied by 1-2 Lords each max. or one army early followed by 2-3 single Lords. Easy Tier 5, say hello to Chosen, Minotaurs and Skullcrushers with a sprinkle of Bloodthristers on top.

    It probably has been changed since this video came out. I haven't played TWW3 before now so I can't say.
    I wanted to write that I am a little bit surprised at your review of Khorne and how you play it. Maybe you underestimated Skarbrand?
    I played on VH currently and Skarbrand is just a one daemon army. Sure he can kill the enemy lord, but why bother when he can just wipe out 5 units of the enemy army?
    Leadership penalty for dead lord seem much lower in TWW3 than TWW1 (haven't played TWW2) anyway.
    I am not a fan of Khorne lore-wise honestly so I feel you on this, but I have to say, the way you approached this battle was way overly complicated for Khorne. Just send him the boys and Skarbrand will do the rest. Prioritize the Gorefeast talent and give him the HP regen banner. He'll regen 0.30% of his total health per second. Fight the quest battle for his weapons ASAP and try to find something to give him perfect vigor. There you go you've got Skarbrand as a 1 unit doomstack.
    When fighting the quest battle for his weapons, he killed both Exalted Bloodthirsters, the Great Unclean One and both Soulgrinders and lived to tell the tale (with 10% HP but hell, 3 lords and 2 top tier units).
    I think you are a little more used to squishier lords that can't just go in and destroy an army (and that's fine), but Skarbrand is not one of them. He is possibly the absolute best anti-infratry lord in the game. Sure he has no magic, so he can burst-wipe units but give him time and he'll get 400 kills without any problem.

    The UI still needs some work. The last digit of the skull counter is obscured. If you can get 10k skulls by turn 12 and the last digit is already obscured, what's going to happen when you get to 100k?
