    Thank you Chad. I own a 2010 jeep commander 3.7 L as well and my alternator just went out today. Thank you for your video. I’m going to fix mines tomorrow because my local mechanic wanted to charge me over $800 to change it.

    Dude... your video gave me the confidence to do this job on my own. My son’s Jeep Commander was stranded and I was faced with towing it into a garage on a Sunday and then being at the mercy of that garage while I orchestrated everything from home... 2 hours away. Instead... I was able to remove the alternator in 15 minutes and take it to AutoZone where they confirmed that it was bad... the thing actually seized up during the test. A job that could have cost this college dad $800.00 ended up costing just $190.00. Much appreciated!!!!

      Not to get too sappy...but man that makes me so happy!! I'm all for businesses making money but this job is way overpriced in my opinion! Plus you saved the towing as well! Makes the half hour i spent editing it more than worth it! Thanks for the positive feedback!

    Good video Chad! I wish more folks would just try to repair some things themselves. I am not sure if you know this or not but I sell appliances. Sometimes I tell the customer how to fix something or to have a repairman fix it instead of purchasing a new one. Honesty is always the best policy! I try to fix most things myself if time permits. Awesome vid and grats on getting it done buddy!

    Nice Video well done -- it's also important to note that not only will a shop charge you 90 to 150 labor for this - but they also juice you with a HUGE mark-up on the alternator. So for this job, it's a definate DO IT YO' SEF !!!!

    How do I know if it’s the battery or the alternator

  • @BwaKay3
    @BwaKay3 2 года назад

    My 2007 Jeep commander keeps shutting off or stalling in traffic or at lights!!! Just changed the MAP sensor and crankshaft and it still does it. Battery has corrosion but nothing major and the battery is very much alive.
    Could it be the alternator?? Causing my Jeep to stall?? Every mechanic seems to not be able to find the problem and it’s starting to make me sad. Jeep is old but in great condition! I get many compliments on my Jeep and it still clean and intact on the inside like it just came off the lot in 07 !!
    Could somebody possibly share some stories with me of their Jeep stalling so I can maybe know where to start?! THANK YOU ⭐️

    I believe the flashing tire light sensor is trying to tell you, you have a bad TPMS on one of your wheels.

  • @simon-g9f
    @simon-g9f 4 года назад +1

    Did the issue get fixed ? Our Jeep was doing the same thing.. the speed would randomly reduce to 20 mph and the Jeep would stall out.. that was due to a sensor in the gearbox.. if your still having the same issue.

    • @WILKINSOUTDOORADVENTURES
      @WILKINSOUTDOORADVENTURES  4 года назад +1

      Yes..the alternator fixed all the problems we were having

      Here goes the cmnt I was looking for. My 2007 commander Kees stalling on me, randomly, in traffic , at lights, when I pull up to my house.. it just shuts off. I replaced the MAP sensor and crankshaft sensor and still it stalls. Battery isn’t bad. Seems I’ll be replaced the alternator next.
