    I have 2006 jeep commander and know nothing about cars. I barely learned how to unplug the battery 🙂 I'm just browsing videos on this brand to make sure I know before something happens. Homework homework, your video is clear, straight to the point. So simple. Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!

      @@WorkingWithWimberley It all worked out well. I got a new Alternator at Autozone. about 200$. It was easy to take out and the only issue I had was one of the bolts broke. Fortunately it broke in a place that was easy to remove it. So I lucked out and it was done in about an hour Max. Thanks again Dude, it's running like a Champ again.

      How how do you know if the belt is tight enough or when it's tight enough

      @@Doomguy232 The tensioner is spring loaded. That’s what keeps the belt tight. You don’t tighten the belt, the tensioner tightens the belt.

    i did one on mines like 3 years and just did it again this morning. had to skim through real quick cause i thought i missed a alternator bolt, and then i couldn’t remember if i had to take the damn air filter cabin off. 3:25 mark got me hype haha

    I have a 2007 Jeep Commander that won't start, which I was told is the alternator. I also was told next to the alternator the piece isn't turning, but I don't know the name of it. I was told its call the pully. do you know what the part is next to the alternator on the left hand side?

    Thank you so much. We actually thought that this would be harder. This video is quite concise and easy to understand and follow. Question. After you removed the 13 mm bolt, it looked like there you were doing some sort of prying activity around the alternator. Was I mistaken?

      Yes. Around the 3:25 mark if you read the text on the screen, I describe that I’m prying out the alternator. Even though all the bolts were out, it was wedged in so I pried it out.

      Unfortunately I do not. This was a friends car. I did the alternator and replaced a headlight bulb. That’s all I’ve done on the commander.

    Hello I got a hemi and the battery light flashes and vehicle turns of do you think it’s the alternator the problem?

      The tensioner is spring loaded. That’s what keeps the belt tight. You don’t tighten the belt, the tensioner tightens the belt.

    I have all the bolts out and everything unplugged but can’t get the alternator out. I can move it but it won’t come out

      I had to pry mine out as well. It wouldn’t simply slide out. You can see me prying at 3:22
