I hate relying on someone else to fix my jeep. You explained it so well, i can do it myself. BTW, I'm a female that hates getting ripped off by mechanics. Tyvm
I have 2006 jeep commander and know nothing about cars. I barely learned how to unplug the battery 🙂 I'm just browsing videos on this brand to make sure I know before something happens. Homework homework, your video is clear, straight to the point. So simple. Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the walkthrough Wimberley! very informative and easy to understand. I am a big fan of my Commander and hope to keep it running for Manny years to come. Props!
@@WorkingWithWimberley It all worked out well. I got a new Alternator at Autozone. about 200$. It was easy to take out and the only issue I had was one of the bolts broke. Fortunately it broke in a place that was easy to remove it. So I lucked out and it was done in about an hour Max. Thanks again Dude, it's running like a Champ again.
No god bless you sir. And thank you for such a great video. I've tried to follow so many other videos for my 2006 Jeep Commander but they were not well videoed/documented. Yours is the best.
Awesome video! Clear and concise with all the sockets named and listed that are needed. Wish all auto "how to" videos were as well done. Really appreciate this and will check back with your videos when needed in the future. Thank you Sir!
Thank you for this very clear and concise video, worked perfectly! My 13mil bolt stripped and that was a job in itself but I got it. I appreciate you taking the time to show us how to do it. Peace!
i did one on mines like 3 years and just did it again this morning. had to skim through real quick cause i thought i missed a alternator bolt, and then i couldn’t remember if i had to take the damn air filter cabin off. 3:25 mark got me hype haha

I have a 2007 Jeep Commander that won't start, which I was told is the alternator. I also was told next to the alternator the piece isn't turning, but I don't know the name of it. I was told its call the pully. do you know what the part is next to the alternator on the left hand side?
Thank you so much. We actually thought that this would be harder. This video is quite concise and easy to understand and follow. Question. After you removed the 13 mm bolt, it looked like there you were doing some sort of prying activity around the alternator. Was I mistaken?
Yes. Around the 3:25 mark if you read the text on the screen, I describe that I’m prying out the alternator. Even though all the bolts were out, it was wedged in so I pried it out.
It could possibly be the alternator. Here’s an article about some things to look for: www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/blog/maintenance/signs-of-a-bad-alternator/#

How how do you know if the belt is tight enough or when it's tight enough
@@Doomguy232 The tensioner is spring loaded. That’s what keeps the belt tight. You don’t tighten the belt, the tensioner tightens the belt.

Hello I got a hemi and the battery light flashes and vehicle turns of do you think it’s the alternator the problem?
It could possibly be the alternator. Here’s an article about some things to look for: www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/blog/maintenance/signs-of-a-bad-alternator/#
Great instructions!
Thanks! I’m glad the video helped!
Is the hemi version in same location under plastic motor cover?
I’m not sure. I haven’t worked on the hemi, just the V6.
How do you know if you tightened the belt enough or if you
The tensioner is spring loaded. That’s what keeps the belt tight. You don’t tighten the belt, the tensioner tightens the belt.
