- Here is a really nice rendition of a jazz classic "Caravan". Performed by some of the same very talented musicians of "The Big Phat Band" is this mini sized version of this band... "The Little Phat Band" featuring: Wayne Bergeron on Trumpet, Brian Scanlon on Sax, Andy Martin on Trombone, Andrew Synowiec on Guitar, Rick Shaw on Bass, Bernie Dresel on Drums and of course Gordon Goodwin on Piano and tenor sax. BTW if you want to get your full dose of "The Big Phat Band" they will be playing back again at the "Catalina Jazz Club" off of Sunset Ave. on a Monday, September 15th 2014.... so mark you calendars, I already marked mine because in my opinion Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band has got to be one of the most exciting big bands of today to listen to. When you take a Gordon Goodwin's Composition and team it up with the likes of his current band personnel that creates a win-win situation in my books. Ted V.
