    As you found out, grocery works a bit differently from logistics. With grocery, you hit I've Arrived, then wait to be sent an order. If there are no orders, your block will automatically close out when you have less than 30 minutes left, and you get paid the base that you signed up for. There is no "wait 30 min and get sent home" like ssd. The other thing you may not know is that if you are assigned an order and you deliver it, if there is more than 30 min left on your block, the app will prompt you to go back to the station and wait for more deliveries. Here's the trick: if it is going to take you past that 30 min mark to get back to the station, you can ignore it and go on with your day. The app will not assign you deliveries that go past the end of your block time. After you do deliveries, it takes exactly 27 hours for Amazon to show you how much you made in tips for that block. You can see it by looking at your earnings tab.

    TBH IDK if the policy is wait 30 minutes from start or 30 minutes until end of shift b/c the only time I've ever been sent home on a grocery block was one that was an hour long. However in general some things I've learned are:
    1. Don't bother calling driver support. Even if the policy says you can leave after X time they'll still just tell you to stay. They're concerned with what's more convenient for them not what the policy actually is.
    2. I'd recommend finding the policy yourself and just following that to a T. Ignore what driver support and/or some rando says
    3. To reiterate in case it wasn't clear don't contact support unless you have literally no other option. Examples of this are: pay not showing up when it's supposed to. I can't really think of any other examples.

    • @IamDesireeSimone
      @IamDesireeSimone  10 месяцев назад +1

      I was wrong, after reading other comments. The policy is 30 minutes left from your block you are sent home and payed for that block. Great points, and thank you for sharing. Thank you for watching!

    Can anybody explain this: I did my first block (sub-same-day) for a 3 hour shift. I received 29 packages. Ok, let's do the math 3 hours = 180 minutes. 180 / 29 packages = 6.2 minutes per package. Needless to say I only finished 14 (13 minutes per package) then returned the rest. I drove 30 miles to Amazon station. 30 miles to return the packages and 30 miles back home. Not only that my delivery was in Elfin Forest Escondido, CA (Gravel and dirt roads). I had to wait for Horses to cross the street and Amazon's GPS was off by 1.5 miles, I had to call Amazon 3 times so they could mark my deliveries complete. Good thing I did not get a flat tire, I don't think road side assistance would have found me.

    • @KeyMonique
      @KeyMonique 2 месяца назад

      Next time, complete all the deliveries, then contact support through email. They'll compensate you from the 'extended delivery' window, as they call it. I've been compensated plenty times, but never thought to return undeliverable packages. Well, the more you return, it'll affect your standing.

    You are scheduled a 2 hour block. Amazon will pay you for your 2 hour block if you don't get any orders. As time passes, if they send you one, they will send one delivery or 2 deliveries that will fit your time frame.

    I am new to Flex and it is garbage with the routing system and practices. With my experience with SSD makes me not even want to try logistics because from what I have heard it more packages and more stops but in better clusters. Retail deliveries seems to be a better route.

    This happened to me last week. I usually do pkg deliveries only but decided to do Fresh deliveries and I waited an hour for a 1.5 hr block to get 2 stops and deliver. Luckily I did it in 20 mins both stops but very disappointed at the system.

    I watched another u tube whole foods delivery. He said you have to wait and if you are finished with the delivery more than 30 min before the end of route you have to return to the store to await another order. But if there is less than 30 min left you are done. Getting paid after 30 min it's only for the fulfillment centers

    • @IamDesireeSimone
      @IamDesireeSimone  6 месяцев назад

      I see. I still think they should change their rules like how the fulfillment centers do it. If you don't get an order within the first 30 minute of your scheduled shift then you get go home and be paid. Thats just my opinion. Thank you for watching!

    New subbie here 🤎🎉 I got paid the same way my first WF delivery but I seen other gig workers leaving and returning within the "waiting time" and come to find out they were doing local food deliveries to kill time.
    Dont be discouraged of that location! Its been times I delivered did a 2 hour(230-430) and didnt receive an order until 330 but it was 2 stops! Once I delivered them, and looked back at the distance to "return to station for more deliveries" I will arrive by my end time! So I didn't go back and delivery was completed. Good luck fellow Flexer🤎😌

    I found out the hard way that it’s very easy to miss the silent notification for your Whole Foods route after signing in IF YOU ARE USING OTHER APPS ON YOUR PHONE. 😩😩😩
    … I was watching RUclips and missed my route once… it almost happened again a separate day, but I saw the notification banner at the last minute. So weird that the notification is silent when you are using another app but it’s hella loud when the Flex app is at the front LOL, ugh.

    Hi, so that part of waiting is a pain, but I notice if I refresh page sometime my order does show up. and on my last order they were still bagging order up. also, I hate when I finish delivery, they have you return to wholefood to maybe do more order. but I notice they want you to work the full 2 hrs. so, if I have 30min left and heading back I refresh my app and most time it close out and I go home. instead of going back to wholefood and sit and wait and their time I don't get any tips. but their time it worth tips when they do. i would try another one and see how it goes, I also have me a small wagon just in case or a basket to help with carrying bags. I hope this help someone. and ty for sharing

    I did amazon flex in my area and I drove 40 miles to pick up the block then I had to drive 30 miles to go to the drop of the block area over 38 packages ..70 miles to drive al over the packages and wen I finish dropping all the packages drove back home 30 miles so it was 180 miles for 103.00 dollar block I put 50 on gas plus 20 dollars in food.
