Not all desires are good. Many people who strive to follow God pray to have their same-sex attractions taken away. However, the Bible teaches that when you experience these desires, you should direct your focus on God. It acknowledges that it won't be easy, but assures that God will provide support during difficult times. Instead of asking God to remove same-sex attractions or any other similar feelings, ask for the strength to resist such temptations. Temptation will always be present, but so will God. Therefore, rather than succumbing to temptation, turn to God for strength and support.

These are GOOD questions. Logan may be trying to find holes in Christianity to make himself feel better, but these are questions I've asked as a Christian and there is no shame in fully understanding what the bible says. Cliff answers questions from non believers and people of different faiths all the time. I think the question of "why has God made people wired in a way that makes them more inclined to sin than others" is a very natural curiosity to have. I've struggled with narcissists in my life and I've wondered how is it fair they are wired to be more selfish than the average person (I am not saying they aren't accountable for their actions because they indeed still have free will). Oftentimes you need to remember that you cannot always debate nor try to have relatable conversations by simply always or only sharing Scripture (God’s Word) to nonbelievers/skeptics/scoffers because their ears are deaf and/or heart apostatical or lewd, so like Jesus, you share parables/analogies, especially honest, relatable experiences to try to help people where they are to hopefully be able to have an understanding of the magnificent righteousness of God and the sin nature of man. Each of us has a sin “which easily besets us”. You may not struggle with lying, or stealing, but do struggle with sexual sin. That’s why we must be “born again”. Born with a new nature, and the help of the Holy Spirit to “control” or die to the old nature and withstand sin. God does not create us to sin, but sin came into the world and every imagination of man was evil. God sent his son to correct the sin nature that Adam and Eve allowed to come into the world. I suppose that depends on what you mean by desires. If you mean “I want this, and I will think about it and hold onto it” then you’re correct. If you mean “the temptation to do/think/say etc” then I would argue you are incorrect. The Bible says Jesus was tempted in every way we are yet was without sin. I would argue that we can be tempted and take the escape provided by the Holy Spirit and not be in sin. If however, we contemplate on it, fantasize etc etc then YES the stewing and contemplation is a sin even if we didn’t take any action on it.
The devil can and does tempt people in many ways, alcohol, gambling, homosexuality and many other temptations, we can reject the attacks of the evil one and choose by our free will not to act on the temptation, so you do not sin. The temptation and intrusive thought's are not sin in themselves, as they can be planted in our minds by the devil, it only becomes sin if we choose to dwell on that sin and that may lead you to act upon that sin. Then the devil has won and the temptation was acted upon. Yet if an intrusive thought enters a person's mind and it is not what that person want's and they reject the thought there is no sin. If we are tempted as we all are in life we have the Lord to turn to in prayer and ask him to take the temptation away, he said to give him our burdens, because his yoke is light and his burdens are easy. We're all born with a sinful nature....we all have weaknesses. If your weakness is homosexuality, it doesn't mean you're free to act on it. If that's the case, then if you're born with a desire to steal, does that mean you can shoplift? If you're born with a desire to kill, does that give you the right to murder? We can't act on our desires, which is why it's important to stay in prayer and in His word. If you ask the Lord to remove sinful desires, He will. As proof, sinners, thieves, murderers, or even politicians didn't put Jesus to death; Jesus was put to death by His own people, the church. The Pharisees and the Jewish church were so blinded that they could not see Jesus for who He was. Also, just look at the church now. It is just like the days of Noah and the days of Jesus. To think a day would come where Christians would attack sinners by saying God didn't make them like that is astonishing. What purpose does it serve to think God needs to be defended? What He says is LAW. What He says is just by Him saying it, or by making a person and allowing them to exist. Anything else is just pure ignorance.

Anything sexual outside of the boundaries of marriage, is sinful. And marriage as a covenant between God and a man and a woman is the extent of the boundary, so anything outside of that isn't considered a marriage in God's eyes. Legally, you can have a gay marriage, but it's not a marriage in God's eyes. Sex is a gift, who are we to determine how it should be treated?

Not that God made man to be sinners, but that it is in man's nature (all people being the progeny of Adam and Eve, who sinned against God and passed that nature down), for all are born into sin. It's the reason why people don't have to be taught how to lie, or how to steal. It comes to them natural because of their fallen nature (fallen from God's glory, that is). For "all have sinned and come short of God's glory" (re Rom. 3:23). Sin does NOT bring glory to God, and the Lord made man to bring glory to His name. Therefore, just as God did not make men to be murderers, or thieves, or adulterers, He did not make them to be homosexual either. Those are all homegrown elements of the sinful flesh. The Bible says, "[19] Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, [20] idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, [21] envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God" (Gal. 5:19-21). Obviously there a lot more to all of this, as in the Gospel, and God's plan for redemption and salvation of sinners, but that is a much longer discussion. Even longer than this comment. lol.

Instead of asking God to remove same-sex attractions or any other similar feelings, ask for the strength to resist such temptations. Temptation will always be present, but so will God. Therefore, rather than succumbing to temptation, turn to God for strength and support.

How many teens couples go to your church that you you all can tell are having sex? Come on, be honest with yourself? These are GOOD questions. Logan may be trying to find holes in Christianity to make himself feel better, but these are questions I've asked as a Christian and there is no shame in fully understanding what the bible says. Cliff answers questions from non believers and people of different faiths all the time. I think the question of "why has God made people wired in a way that makes them more inclined to sin than others" is a very natural curiosity to have. I've struggled with narcissists in my life and I've wondered how is it fair they are wired to be more selfish than the average person (I am not saying they aren't accountable for their actions because they indeed still have free will). Similarly, Cliff's response to questions like why God created evil is "I don't know". I think it takes humility to accept that we can't fully understand the way God has made things.

The Bible says Jesus was tempted in every way we are yet was without sin. I would argue that we can be tempted and take the escape provided by the Holy Spirit and not be in sin. If that's the case, then if you're born with a desire to steal, does that mean you can shoplift? If you're born with a desire to kill, does that give you the right to murder? We can't act on our desires, which is why it's important to stay in prayer and in His word. If you ask the Lord to remove sinful desires, He will. But you have to want to obey rather than act on desires.

As a Christian, it's always been pretty straightforward in my mind. Being gay isn't a sin, but the way that you conduct yourself can be.
Anything sexual outside of the boundaries of marriage, is sinful.
And marriage as a covenant between God and a man and a woman is the extent of the boundary, so anything outside of that isn't considered a marriage in God's eyes.
Legally, you can have a gay marriage, but it's not a marriage in God's eyes.
