Katy Perry's advice was spot on! Don't be who you're not Abi. Don't work the stage unless it's to float across the stage like an angel or to "preach" a lyric! Keep the angelic!
Yet, she tells other contestants to do more than just play a guitar?!?!? Makes no sense to tell someone one thing then another something different.
That’s because, in my opinion, others really need that for their style.
Abi’s style is, in my opinion, unique and generally good enough that movement would distract the audience from the utter silence that occurs when she performs in her angelic mode.

Abi’s best performance is still her audition “What Was I Made For,” by Billie Eilish. That’s the standard she set and she needs to get back to that place. The talent is definitely there!
Agree, and honestly I'm starting to think the song was doing a lot of heavy lifting there - it's so naturally moving that anyone singing it will be able to convey some emotion. Abi is good, but the more she sings, the more flaws are exposed. But she's still growing and she picks interesting songs so I am excited to watch her.

@@shaun457well I don’t think I would say anyone can sing that song! Yes, anyone who sings it is gonna have people emotional. However, if you sing it the way she did, IM THROWING SHOES LOL! That performance was actually flawless. I do agree that she hasen’t been as good then, but I thing she definitely is really good! I think her Coldplay performance this week was pretty incredible. My second favorite. Top 3 of the night if definitely say!

There are singers and there are very special performers. Abi Carter is one of those special performers. Her sound is so unique, in a class of its own. She honestly deserves to be the next American Idol. Love listening to her voice. Would love hearing her sing, The Joke by Brandi Carlile. I think it would be phenomenal.

This one may not be her best vocally, but it’s still a great performance! In my opinion, this is definitely one of my fav performances from her. But, I loved her audition. It really showed the judges she was born to win this show.

Abi continues to sing us wonderful ballads, sometimes some upbeat songs, too. She’s a pro, and once again, she took another artist’s song, and made it hers. The story was sung beautifully, and the entire performance was captivating . She’s such a delight to watch on stage. she’s on a roll.

That was incredible! This woman can do no wrong. She's never had an off night so far. She is the most consistent out of everyone this season. She remains as my number 1 favorite every time. She will always be in that spot. Perfect song choice for her, and that was her best performance of the season! Every single performances of hers is such perfection and flawless. I am never going to give her any constructive criticisms at all because she doesn't need it. She's going to be in the finale.

This was the best performance of the season and her best performance of the night. It was perfect and flawless. I loved everything about it. So I have no problem with my hearing. I'm happy with my hearing. Good thing she has the most views and likes. It's very well deserved. I stand by what I said, and I am never changing that. No one will ever change my mind.

In the previous episode’s performance of “Yellow Brick Road”, Abi pulled a grand finale note that was over 15 seconds long. Singing out for 15 seconds without breaking to take a single breath in. That was insane.
So, I’m so sorry Luke Bryan that she didn’t do the exact same note again tonight. I’m glad that the Taylor Swifties and Abi Carter fans in the crowd gave him a few “Boooooo’s”.
Abi is winning the RUclips video view count battle, and that can be a strong indicator of who might win the Trophy🏆.

(And I just checked, Abi is winning the RUclips video view count battle, not as massively as Iam Tongi was last season, but Abi is leading, and that is a strong indicator of who might win.🏆)

Yall should've seen what Luke, and Lionel said , Luke said feels the same as yesterday but they just changed clothes. That she needs to stop hiding behind the piano and bring some energy, and Lionel said she needs to sing with more "mmf" instead of soft notes,,, 😮😮 i was like they really critique her but in a good way.

Taylor songs are hard to sing in the same key since many of her songs are in her "speaking voice key". Abi got nowhere to go but sing higher which may not suit the song well.

This is still on my repeat performance! Still the best performance of the season. Abi really can do no wrong at all. I loved how perfect and flawless this was. She is never pitchy or flat at all which I loved about her. The runs she went for was flawless. She knows how to really belt pretty high.
She can do better with the high notes, i think it sounded a bit constrained. Nevertheless she’s still one of the front runners, at least in Top 3. I hope she shows another side of her, it’s getting predictable

I think that EVERY SINGLE TIME that these artists come out and we fall in love with them and then the judges try to change them up or they try to change themselves to fit what they think the audience wants then that’s their downfall. I think Abby just needs to be the Abby that we met at first be herself and she’s gonna do fine

If she doesn't bring energy, strong vocals, and domination to the Finale, she will not walk out victorious.

The key is all over the place. I think it is the case of when the voice didn't match the vibe of the song. Her rendition of Oceans is still the best and she should stick to this lane (gospel)

This was just brilliant marketing. She got the Swifties’ vote. Was it her best? Not at all. But, I think it helped boost her vote count for the remainder of the show.
Abi Carter’s my pick to win it all! Another effortless vocal performance but I kinda agree with the judges on stepping out from the piano and just sing the song, try to step out of her comfort zone! Not her best performance but I still love her voice and I know that A Star Is Born!
I agree 100% with what Luke was trying to say but couldn't. It's a shame the judges probably aren't allowed or are told not to really give anyone criticism past a certain point the show. She was my favorite in the beginning but honestly though her last two performances were her worst of the show. Not that they were bad but they didn't blow you away by any stretch compared to other ones she has done. I am not saying she has to change who she is but if she wants to win she need's to prove she's not a one trick pony. The sitting at the piano song after song is starting to lose the excitement and the last 2 songs and the arrangements of them didn't do her voice justice.
Pay no attention to Luke's advice. Katy was right, don't let Idol try and change you and make you into something you are not. You are perfect just as you are.

My favourite of the contestants but to wander off melody like that didn’t do her any favours at all😢
It was lacking emotion, “All Too Well” is quite literally the biggest song lyrically and emotionally of Taylor’s career and there’s so much angst when she performs it. This song isn’t meant to smile through and it’s not suppose to be arranged light. I feel like a few of these young artist are missing one key element and that’s emotion when preforming.
Still managed to sing better than Taylor tho, but that’s not hard ☕️
She was smiling and the song is so sad, I don’t think she was connected here (and the high notes change was so not needed)
