    When it comes to bass fishing, the majority of bass spend their time in slightly deeper offshore structure and cover. If you are not fishing there you may be missing 90% of the bass.

      Man forget all the jumbo jumbo get you a drop shot and a bucket of red and green earthworms. Rig that baby wacky and you’ll get a bass. Keep that line tight and mix in a few light taps. You’ll snag one for sure

    Idk what to believe anymore. Last July on a day it was 102 outside, I got a 6.1lb largemouth up in about 2ft of water, just sitting there with no shade or anything. Got another in the same area as well. There’s been a lot of stuff not making sense lately with the “normal pattern” that bass follow.

      Really depends on the body of water and what the bass have access to.
      And typically the clearer the water the more bass that go deeper offshore.
      Their will almost always be more bass offshore tho, they'll also be harder to find and catch.
      I almost always fish the bank but I try to dedicate sometime every trip to fishing deeper and learning and it's been paying off

    You posted a great video recently where you mentioned 50% of the bass in a pressured lake never get fished because they are in spots nobody thinks of. I find that sooo true. I bought my boat and had it about 2 months before getting a fish finder and I found So many random spots that hold fish that nobody would think to look.

    I don't target bass, but I catch tons of really big ones while trolling with lead core line. I start out trolling for trout, but when they are not biting, and I just want to tighten a line, I move in shallower, and troll in the 20'-30' range, and I always find willing bass, all while the "bass guys" are casting under my dock and catching squat.

    Reminds me of a time I took my elderly PaPaw fishing in my new Stratos, back in '95. He wanted to fish in the middle, not on the bank. It being May in Alabama, I obliged him. He proceeded to catch a spotted bass over 4 lbs. I relied heavily on my Carolina rig for about 2 years after that, making ALOT of money by fishing humps, drops, rock piles, and channel swings.

    Spotted Bass #6, Going deep.

  • @dustinisaac5132
    @dustinisaac5132 Год назад +12

    Bass are everywhere man, I've caught huge ones in 3' of water in the hottest days of summer and they tend not to move much over the year or have 1 or 2 spots and they travel back and forth. I just saw a study that tracked a bunch of bass and their results were a lot different than spring time shallow, summer deep. Some years a big bass won't even try spawning and other bass never really left the shallows. They said the average bass only move a little over 100' in a day and basically have a home base they live in. Tournament caught fish won't try and find their way home if they get released in a spot that they like too, or they just don't know the way back. In pressured areas 1/3 of bass will take off as soon as you drive over them if the water is less than 15' deep too and another 1/3 will take off after the first cast. So the school you mark ends up just being a few fish, I think those ones are most likely the hungrier fish and the ones that havent been caught or its been a while. It was a very interesting study anyways but it hasn't been replicated. It does give some insight into bass behavior though. It was also noted that after being caught a lot of quality bass moved to featureless flats and find a small stump to hang around for months or maybe for the rest of the study period. They say they wouldn't have found these bass stumps if not for the transmitters but I'm sure people do come across them and just don't share them. There are still bass that are more predictable and you can find and catch them in the usual bass spots too but there's a bit more going on than we think.

    Depends on the lake and forage. If the primary forage is a pelagic species this is 1000% true but it is also true that there is always a population of bass that are shallow and unless it’s the spawn, they are there primarily to feed. So, they are often the most aggressive.

    Not true at all. Different lakes and regions will also determine where the fish are. There’s no real pattern that’s why fishing is so fun. Even with livescope on board, I still see myself in the dog days of summer flipping and pitching into docks, weeds lines, lily pads and doing much better than scoping 1-2 bass deep…. Stop spreading misinformation please.
