Woolie returns to QA to kill the head of QA, which is honestly appropriate
Just began my QA journey a couple weeks ago and it was very funny to have this game as a companion piece all that
Years in the making
"Bro,the new kid just came to school and took bayo's lunch"
I don't know why,but I love the crystal clear truth in that sentence XD
"I heard he killed someone and that's why he got transferred to our school."
"Really? I heard he had sex with the principal and then with the principal's dad."
*shocked gasps fill he school yard*
@@mrmakiman "whatever the case is, he FUCKS."
FUN FACT: Rekka is voiced by Misty Lee, professional stage magician, wife of Harley Quinn co-creator Paul Dini and the reason The Last Of Us' Clickers sound the way they do...
Ohh, she's the reason Dini has a crush on Zatanna...
@@fluidthought42 | Or, Zatanna is why he was attracted to Misty Lee, at least at first.
Did she also voice Misuzu from River City Girls?
Woah, as in IRL Zatanna?
Oh shit she replaced Paula Tiso as Camilla, my favorite character ever!
What a talented lady.
They really soft-sell the fact of how common the AI is in this future. Robots have progressed to the point that they slack off on the job.
Woolie REFUSED to hit O5-KAR for he was OVERWHELMED by his GIGACHAD WILL. Bow down to the king baby! 😂
That second remark at the beginning made me realize that this game is technically real-time AND turn-based.
QA really left its mark on these guys, huh? It doesn’t take much to bring it all bubbling back to the surface.
The only thing that could make this game more hype for Woolie is if you could kill Batarians.
And to put some dreads on Chai.
@@kingragnarok7302
He wants white hair, for obvious reasons
Give Chai a Judgement Cut that cuts to the beat.
@@GoldLight73 Even I would nut to that
Needs more racism and Shivers
Seeing the number of timed prompts Woolie misses makes me think it wasn't Minh screwing up the timing in Cadence of Hyrule...
Well, Woolie did say the additional rhythm help was there for white people - should have taken what was offered to him
@@Copperhell144 It's the beefy white leg holding him back. What we don't see is him tapping his foot off beat to the music
Too Big to Fail is such a bop. Such a catchy song.
I had no idea you could kill the cute little cleaner robots and never would've tried. The money isn't worth the cruelty
Getting flashbacks to QA... "next time you plan on taking a sick day, try to register it the week before, next time you may not be approved like today,"
maaann... that clap was well deserved for the dev... this game is pure gold
Woolie's new favorite game, and he has to go to QA feels like he went full circle.
This game is like 1000% Woolie. The corporate jokes, the references, the style, everything.
Ok, the FLCL shout out has convinced me, this game truly is perfect
Smidge is the horniest character in anything ever and I will not be told otherwise
IDK, Darkness can get really close to explicit sometimes.
It's weird that 2023 is the year of horny fridges.
I really like what they're doing with Chai. He's a good idiot hero.
The backgrounds really do put me in mind of Futurama. The whole world's logic feels like it would fit in with that world. Vandelay could be a competitor to Mom's Friendly Robot Factory.
You worked on Force Unleashed? There has to be more to that story
I can't wait for Woolie to find the training area. Its SO good. I am taking this game slow and drinking it all in, its so good and you only get one first playthrough.
Also I would start sweatin' if Pneuma came up on the tracklist
Headsup from the manga, he was in for like 30 minutes
@@gameb9oy radical
Furi Curi?! I didn’t realize Woolie was at terminal weeb yet! I thought we still had time!
it was the hunterxhunter that did him in
This game seems like what "no straight roads" wanted to do, but hi-fi rush is doing it better.
It walked so Hi Fi could Fly, absolutely
No Straight Roads was more about the story each boss has to tell, and about music as a narrative subject.
Hi-Fi Rush uses music really well, but it's about robots and an evil corporation.
I like both for what they provide.
Woolie's enjoyment of this game is infectious. Such a fun stylish and absolutely banging game.
Rekka is 100/10 character design.
cant escape the QA even if you tear it down it will be back
It kinda bums me out that NSR didn't get this kinda love, but man, this game is great!
If Smidge isn't some kind of bonus boss at some point I think it might be the first bill removed from the tip stack for me.
[edit] 35:30 Woolie talking about the art style made me realize this game serves as a pretty good proof-of-concept for a new Megaman: Legends sequel.
Rekka is a woman after Woolie's heart. She's got them command grabsssssssss baby!!
nothing makes me happier then tuning in to this
We really need more great AA games like this one.
AAA*
@@bayouboigaming AA is closer to reality. Bethesda might be owned by Microsoft, but this was a smaller team within Tango that worked on this in tandem with Ghostwire. Tighter budget too.
@@bayouboigaming OP is right. This is AA. The designation is about more than just the budget, but also the game price (AA is usually $20-40), the studio size (typical AA studios are 50-100 employees), the size and influence of the publisher they partner with (usually a large, well known publisher), and the degree of autonomy with relation to the publisher (more autonomy means more independent creative control).
The budget for Hi-Fi Rush was much smaller than Tango's previous games. The game price is squarely in the middle range for a AA product. Tango Gameworks is a midsize studio with less than 100 employees, and they are only focused on making smaller, non-horror games now since Ghostwire: Tokyo. The change in direction and scope shows that Shinji Mikami and his studio have a large degree of autonomy despite being owned outright by Zenimax and being published by Bethesda Softworks.
Considering these factors, Tango Gameworks definitely fits into the AA studio classification.
Hope Bethesda publishing keeps making stuff like this after this one's success
A AA game that surpasses average triple AAA game standards by a country mile lol.
i feel like give it 30 years and woolie's got grey pepper in his beard being the old magical black man telling you stories in the back of the boiler rooms of the internet about how code USED to be, decked out in tech gear teaching the young bloods about finding and exploiting bugs for the Juggalo Faygo resistance.
I would be so stoked if there were cosmetics homaging other rhythm games like a Gitaroo Man outfit
I hope mod support (or devs themselves) comes in with an FLCL skin pack
Chai being replaced by Haruko would not only not break immersion but *add to it*
Full Power to Forward Humbuckers!
~The Forward Humbuckers have never worked~
3:40 "let's hit those weird time signatures!"
Boss Level: /DANCE OF ETERNITY/
TFW they bust out the Tool beats and it is quite literally the Fibbonaci Sequence as the Beat
"As long as videos come out at 3 and 9 PM, sleep all you want."
- Woolie in a video 3 hours late.
The rest was nice while it lasted Minh.
I'm innocent, actually. This is not my fault.
Rekka'a grab looks like a mix between Abel's breathless and zangief's grab (I forgot the name)
There's also Potemnkin in there for sure
Chai is the goofball screwup that Platinum wanted Viola to be.
I listened to the NIN bossfight song and I have to say... I like this original song they made a bit better... both are fantastic but the original they made fits better IMO
Unpopular opinion but I enjoy the songs made for the bosses more than the licensed ones.
Only one I agree with on that front is Too Big to Fail, but 1,000,000 is also a kick-ass track so I'd call it a draw. Later bosses are definitely better with the licensed music.
In general, I agree although I do love the NIN songs here (but the boss theme here is great too), Wolfgang Gartner playing against Roquefort is very fitting, and Invaders Must Die is the one true exception where I think the licensed song is superior to the replacement. Besides those, this game's copyright-free tracks are amazing and I hope other games put as much effort into an option that most people playing on their own would ignore otherwise
I like the mimosa non licensed one better.
HELL YEAH. This whole game is perfect. So glad to see you both enjoying it, this game rules! :D
I love this game could just be an ep of Futurama.
just realized Va-Ser #1 & 2 are the rock em sock em robots colors which is why they're fighting all the time
I can't wait to see Track 10.
It's just SO Woolie to be explicitly told where a boss's weakspot is, be given a huge stagger window to hit it with, and opt to attack a different spot.
God I would kill for having primus and tool with odd time signatures for this game! That would be a cool idea for harder difficulties.
I was wondering whether they could implement modes with faster time signatures that allows the player to move and act faster, would be sick for speed runners!
I finished the game yesterday, I see why theres a goty sentiment behind it, I didn't take any bills from the table. most i can nitpick is zshielding but parry counters take care of it on 1 hit
Hi-Fi Rush is just how Nero experiences DMC5
Reggie here rocking out to A Change of Seasons
Finally, the first Rhythm' Up game.
Oh, why did you have to bring up Bayo 3? That wound is still fresh
Year 6 of QA babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I should get a new job lmao
Its not crunch if we just add another day to the week
Ooooo Reggie is feeling the lyrics!
Danny Carey is the final boss of the sequel. 🤣
RUclips compression is being *very* unkind to this game, and that legit feels like a crime.
There is no fair comparison to make between Viola and Chai I think. Chai is an original concept, built from the ground up to be some dork who thinks he's way cooler than he is. Viola was meant to be a replacement for a character that was badass and campy, Viola herself being dorky and TRYING to be cool, lacking any confidence.
Woolie against robo woolie
20:29 is me but the podcast
rorbs. take me back
I find some of the robots quite hot. =U
Too Big To Fail is better than the NiN track. The NiN track gets really repetitive really fast, since its loop section is really short.
Chai kinda swings that thing like a Keyblade, doesn't he?
I foresee a Keyblade mod in the future.
His walk cycle also reminded me of it, in the manga chat was talking about how if he put it on his back, it would be perfectlly parallel
If they do a Djent stage I will laugh and laugh and laugh
Hey listen, good LP so far but why is the game looking so low res / no AA?
Woolie put it on 720p and didn't want to end the recording by changing the resolution.
My blind ass barely even notices. One good thing about having piss poor vision is that I can save money by never needing a monitor over 1080p
Good stuff
ok, this is really good,
please, please god dont tell me im going to hear "HEY! CHAI! HEY! CHAI" over the music every single time woolie attacks. thats going to get old QUICK.
There are two kinds of people, those that feel it and then this guy.
God i wish this game wasn't stuck on the X/S. I have a One but I'm not streaming a rythmn based game.
It's on PC
@Mr. Seemingly Expected if I had a decent enough pc I wouldn't have mentioned the consoles.
It's also on Steam
I just think of what's the absolute worst thing they can do to a game like this, then the thought came of them giving you an amazing Vergil, but his gimmick is he's *never* on the beat.
or do something like the Masked Man from Mother 3 and give his theme a real fucked up time signature
Runs on inverse beat. His own is exactly between your own beats.
As a grade 7 pianist I have to say I very glad this game sticks to 4/4 time (so far, I'm about half way through). An irregular rhythm would be a nightmare with the more complex fights
God I wish we could get more time signatures, honestly but also this game does a fuckin superb job of getting new comers into rhythm games!
I feel like that would be perfect for a dmc type style switch, or something like the yakuza styles where swithing changes up the music.
I saw part 1 this morning and now I’m watching part 2 after a waaaay too long and stressful day. I’m gonna enjoy watching this before going to sleep. Seeing Woolie and Reggie enjoy this amazing game is heartwarming!
Oh man, these guys are gonna love Zanzo...
1:30 through 3:07 - Bloody hell even these damn tutorial videos popping up are timed to the beat aren't they? Even though it's 30 fps it still looks on beat they are THAT commited to this premise, and that makes me even more shocked that none of the characters break out into full on musicals in this game! Straight up Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie's Revenge shit! Guess that would have been a step too far XD
11:22 - In case you didn't catch on to how much anti-capitalism commentary is gonna be in this game. Hell this one bit about warranty expiration is probably the most _"hyper realistic"_ thing in this game XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD
"Open up the window and jump out!"
...Is that a reference to what I think he's referencing?
Now I want to see those Force Unleashed builds.
Reggie's reaction to Rekka speaks entire paragraphs without words
Chai: no way the QA
"Fifth quarter" was really good
my god they gotta fix the resolution this is so hard to look at.
they do but not in the stream that this video was taken from. Whole first session is low.
I'm watching this one on my TV rather than my laptop and thought I was developing cataracts until I looked down at Woolie and Reggie.
Admittedly, I listened to the first episode at 1.25 speed, so I was imagining playing this at a really quick speed. I had to turn it back to 1.0 so I could get a better idea of gameplay speed.
Can't wait to see this series continue
Just so Reggie know, the SBR enemies are basically the "Saber" variety, given that they have swords in their hands.
I think this is the worst I've ever seen a 1080p video look
Time to crunch that qa! :D
And on the 8th day, God hustled
Welcome to the Fiscal Midnight Hour. Everyone in QA is floating around in a locked coffins and shadows stalk the halls.
dragon's dogma when
probably after FF9, or when we finally get gameplay for DD2. Definitely not until ME is done.
Woolie’s continuing to hate on Bayo 3 while he bigs up this combat. Only he doesn’t know he’s experienced about 50% of the move list already and there is only one weapon in the game. They don’t change time signatures or have much faster songs (I believe they’re all around 120bpm) as they are saying they’re looking forward to. The developers have been on record they wanted to cut all the complexity out of the genre and to not have ‘fail states’ in combat.
It’s a fun and simple game but compared to Bayo 3…come on. Viola really must have hurt him.
There's so much honest joy in this playthrough. I've been waiting to get this hyped!
