The cost to repair Arrowhead Stadium (the home of KC) would have been more than 850 million on an open air stadium - and that is just to make it last a few more years with added repairs every year. One simply has to look at the cost to understand why the people refused to pay an extra tax just for a temporary facility. Now that KC will probably be forced to move to another state will they may want a less expensive open air stadium over a dome - good question for the owners of the team since the people no longer want their tax dollars going for stadiums where they get no return but the owners get all the profits.

@@joedimaggio3687 you most obviously do mnot know how the new Buills stadium financial deal was worked ou. There have been many statement but you obviously ignore those statement or don't read them and preferr to demean the Buffalo Bills, the State of New York, The Governor of the state, the taxpayers of the state, the owners of the Buffalo Bills and the people of Erie County New York and the NFL. One can not plead ignorance when many items have nbeen made public on how the new stadium is d=being financed and how there are payback from the Bills for taxpayer dollars for upfront building costs - but what bother me most is you purposely try to demean all those who were involved with the financial dealing on new stadium costs. I can assure you that the taxpayers may finance upfront costs but those costs will be returned over a period of years 100% and for additional information - I must note that the Bills owners have stated in writing and in contract form that they will pay for, and this is besides what they are paying up front which is many millions of dollars - they have also agreed to pay ALL cost overruns from the original cost of the stadium build and that could run into many million of dollars. I strongly suggest you check with all the owners of those stupid domed stadiums and see what their financial agreements contain and how it impacts taxpayers and that is if there no NDA (Non Disclosure Agreements) to prevent the public from knowing financial deals worked to build those domed failures and that doesn't even include the increased cost for team fans seats, parking and condiments and drinks - in fact one stadium in Tennessee has disclosed because of costs they will be using a Sports Municipal fund (which is really taxpayer money) - yes using taxpayer dollars for more than 500 million dollars and in addition is making mandatory a tax on all hotel and motel rooms of at least 1% - that will certainly impact those who visit for the Titans games and those who simply want to visit Tennessee where accommodations are already very high per day - add another 1% and people will go elsewhere or will avoid Tennessee. Since you seem to apparently know so little about the financial arrangements for the new Bills stadium I strongly suggest you start checking on all the financial arrangements for all the new domed stadiums and the financial arrangements made with DNAs. Admit it you hate the Bills and your concern is not with what the paybacks will be you just want to be a complainer. If you really want the financial breakdown of the Bills new stadium costs - start looking not only here on You Tube but in public records because there are no NDA's except those made with different contractors building the new stadium. No go twiddle you thumbs until you can come up with another complaint about the Bills new stadium.
Buffalo missed out on a golden opportunity to add billions to the city of Buffalo. I left Buffalo years ago, and I have seen the influx of money downtown in Baltimore. cut the crap, it is the winter condition in this area that make and cause potholes and all communities try their best to fix them. Anywhere there are changes in weather roads take the brunt. Complain about the roads and potholes - but look elsewhere in this country where roads are being washed away by flood waters, look else where and see that roads no longer exist because of landslides, look elsewhere and see that roadways have been damaged because of raging forest fires and roadways simply buckle because of the high heat. Complain all you want - there are always going to be those situation where there is never enough money to cover all the things people would like but be realistic, where ever one lives any where in this world, there are going to be shortages of money for all the luxuries people want.

hey buddy - while no New York state money went to build the Jets/Giants stadium in - guess where - New Jersey - why are they still using the name New York when they are located in New Jersey? MetLife Stadium cost the Jets and the Giants each 800 million dollars (but those are not final figures because the estimated cost of MetLife was estimated lower than actual cost) so the cost to both teams will be higher yet the Giants reported a loss of more than 3 million dollars last year and the Jets reported a profit of 12 million. It is reported that both the Jets and Giants each will have to pay back 45-55 million yearly on their 800 shared cost (which will have to be renegotiated because of cost overruns) for MetLife Stadium - and that does not include loan interest, the amount of taxes they both have to pay the state of New Jersey or the cost of players, staff, equipment and training facilities. Don't want to bad mouth you but you are nothing but a spoiled sport who can't afford to see the Jets or the Giants play because their costs are so high and you have to travel miles and miles to even get to their stadium - and - oh yeah - they don't have a dome - they like the Buffalo Bills are a cold weather team playing on artificial turf!

Western New York is a blue collar area - we are a hard working people we don't have all that much money that we can simply waste on shows of little interest that domed stadiums hold - yes there are some who might be interested in that kind of junk production held in domed stadiums but we do not need the build a domed stadium just so maybe some day we could hold a Super Bowl - we are happy to simply play in a Super Bowl somewhere else. One of those domed messes has cost as high as 18 billion dollars - realize where that money could have gone for improving so many things and a better life in those communities they are located in. Buffalo and the Bills owner is smart in recognizing the needs of this community and not those communities that have monster domes.

@@angrystrong0591 totally right - the Bills team players, the Buffalo Bills fans (Mafia) and the general population wanted not a domed stadium but an open air stadium - just as was the original stadium when professional was first p;layer - the Bills because they don't mind the cold (some do) but they want to carry on the tradition of open air stadium. More importantly - the cost of building domed stadiums is horribly high and those stadium are monuments to their owners and the taxpayers who spent there earning on building these monsters that will end up costing billions more as they age and in reality many of the domed stadium are nothing but unheated buildings with extremely high ticket prices. The Bills stadium is partially (65%) covered for fan protection from the weather but the entire playing field is exposed to the elements which the Bills players wanted. There is no way in this world that all people are going to be pleased but there is the truth that some people who have always hated the Buffalo Bills since they became part of the NFL will ever be happy. Ralph Wilson the late owner of the Buffalo Bills was not the most liked man in the NFL he was tough and and other team owners did not like him so it was natural that the NFL carried on the "tradition" of hate the Bills - and it exists to this very day after more than 50/60 years.
@@MaRkYWaHoOthe NFL has become a place to hide money that should have gone to paying federal income taxes for the general welfare of all people - and these words will really get people mad - but hopefully thinking.
We didn't want one. That's part of the fun!
They will sorely regret not having a roof. Besides never getting a Super Bowl game it prevents the stadium from being used for other events.
Not having the roads or transportation it’s already been said that orchard park will never hold a Super Bowl anyways
It’s worked for 50 years!!!

Orchard park is a Subarb in Buffalo 🤦🏽♂️
Erie County owns the stadium. If you rented the building your business was in and it needed replaced. You wouldn't Pay to build I knew one so I think it's pretty nice of the business owner to pay half the cost of a building they won't own new york state will. Duh

I'm a long-time Bills fan who's old enough to have attended games at War Memorial Stadium as a kid. I've been drenched, frozen, and windblown, attending Bills games over the decades. Now living in a warm climate and bustling city, I've heard all the "rationales" for not having a dome. But the reasons are ignorant to me and reflect decades of bad civic leaders and backward thinking as Buffalo continues to lose population and economic opportunities to more well-planned, forward-thinking cities.
Buffalo's civic leaders guaranteeing several more generations of..............."wide right". Bills fans get the stadium they deserve. Just wait until the make they Championship Game again and they have to play it at a neutral site because Bills fans were to dumb to demand a roof. I promise you will lose Josh Allen as well.
well i guess the people still there demanded no dome and the owners kept their word.
Maybe it's because you gotten softer or living in another city your views change.
Well this stadium isn’t in the city. Orchard park is a smaller area with a LOT of money and a fine population for the size of the area.
They spent almost 2 billion dollars on a stadium in a city that averages 150 inches of snow a year without a dome or retractable roof!! I know that most of the fans love them playing in the snow but at least have an option with an retractable roof and you won't have what happened last season with possible postponements !! On nice days they could have it open, on crappy days use the retractable roof!!
i am a big guy but the seats in the general area are just seem small especially for someone with a winter coat on
The House that Hochul Built.
All u ppl crying over it not being a Dome don’t get it. To have a dime to spend that money u need to use the stadium for other events Buffalo doesn’t have the infrastructure for that hotels and roads. It’s strictly a football stadium
But open air stadium hasn't helped a bit with home field advantage.
Cant wait
62 % of the seats will be covered
this stadium is being built on tears and heartache. perhaps you could get scott norwood the cut the opening ribbon.
what ever happened to scott norwood - the same can be said of many other place kickers who no longer haunt the playing field on many football teams.
Why are you watching this? 😂
This stadium is being built on the tears and heartache of the taxpayers.
No go twiddle you thumbs until you can come up with another complaint about the Bills new stadium.
lmfao uh stick to thing you know.
The buffalo fans weren't concern with the dome as the team spoke to the fans and the fans said no silly ass dome.
If “good enough for who it’s for” we’re a stadium 😂
Say what?
Sabres need a new arena.... that would change the skyline.
The number of seats alone makes the new stadium ineligible to host a Super Bowl, that alone makes the entire project a waste of money imo.
The city of Buffalo is ineligible to host a Superbowl.
Buffalo missed out on a golden opportunity to add billions to the city of Buffalo. I left Buffalo years ago, and I have seen the influx of money downtown in Baltimore. The money made from all the entertainment and restaurants and tourism before and after the games. Buffalo really need to learn from the major cities that cleanup on Sundays. Hotels, transportation and more! Smh
Agreed they only cared about getting Seneca Casino going
Not the rest of the area
Bleu cheese over ra*ch 🤢🤮
There is that stuff. But it's a small market team😂😂 youre just weird my guy, and could use the walk.
They can come up with 600 million for a wealthy owner but nothing for general services for the city of Buffalo. Sorry all your pot holes can’t be fixed because we don’t have the money. What an absurd waist of money.
cut the crap, it is the winter condition in this area that make and cause potholes and all communities try their best to fix them.
This new stadium is an embarrassment to our entire city.
Yea it’s not going anywhere near the skyline orchard park is 20 minutes south of the city
Yes folks, Welcome to the 1.7 Billion Dollar BED PAN !!!

What a joke this country has become. I live over 400 miles away within the state on Long Island, yet my taxes have to go towards this? Democracy my foot. I have no say-so whatsoever. The Pegulas, Hochul and their politically connected family and friends get richer. All teams should not be subsided by the government. These are private enterprises. Let them move if they are not happy/
hey buddy - while no New York state money went to build the Jets/Giants stadium in - guess where - New Jersey - why are they still using the name New York when they are located in New Jersey?

It's pretty ugly inside to me and horrible location as well, they'll need another new stadium in 20-30 years. Should've just moved them Toronto and called it a day.
Taxpayer money always a big no but in buffalo what else will they use it for same with Green Bay
Seriously……No roof
You could use it year round with a roof. How stupid
First off, people in buffalo take pride in their snow and don't want a roof. Now I'm sure some would disagree but the majority want an open stadium.
its half roof where prevent wind/ snowing in fans stand similar to one in UKs Tottenham stadium designs
interesting - year round - you obviously know that the Western New York area is not the most attractive for events like trackter/truck pulls/dirt bike races, junk travel productions and concerts. Buffalo and the Bills owner is smart in recognizing the needs of this community and not those communities that have monster domes.
most important the players wanted an open air stadium, thew owners wanted an open air stadium and the people of Western New York wanted an open air stadium - and pointedly - Western New York could not afford a domed stadium for limited usage.@@hallnall1667
@@marlons4122and they play in their open air stadium regardless what the weather

Spending almost 2b on a Stadium that DOESN'T HAVE A DOME??????? WTF is wrong with the people that own the Bills? They have already played 2 games here in Detroit due to Snow. HOw many other games moved or postponed due to snow. All cold weather teams should be mandated to have dome's.
The games moved to Detroit had nothing to do with not having a Dome. It was unsafe for people to travel so the games were moved. Would have happened even if they had a dome.
Travel bans and a state of emergency mean NO fans being able to get to the stadium. A dome or lack thereof have no bearing on whether or not the game would have been played. Get your facts straight.
Why no roof?!!? I’ve been a fan when OJ was playing. It was 6$ for a ticket and I was proud to support my home team. But no roof is insane.
It's 30 miles from the skyline you dope
No roof= total stupidity.
Football is an outdoor sport. No reason for a dome.
@davidcostantino1838 chicago will have a dome. Indianapolis, Detroit and Minnesota have domes. Dallas, Phoenix,Los Angeles, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Houston have domes. What does that tell you? People don't want to sit in rain, cold, heat, wind and snow to watch sports. No thank you. And at this expense the building should be usable year round.
It's nowhere near downtown Buffalo it in orchard Park plus our governor approved of the deal because she was formerly the mayor of Buffalo
