Great video! About a push-order video, I think it would be awesome cus its a hard mechanic, and most new players would want to learn how to control it.
Awesome video gullyy! Was a blast to play, cant wait to go against you again (or maybe even play with you). If I had gotten gone archery or catas I probably could've held out longer, but I could tell I was at a major disadvantage with your catas.
@@GullYYGamer Quick note about something you said at 11:04, you could've blocked the tile that the swordsman could've moved to (the east one), but with the way that push order works, it would've gone North East instead (still letting me hit the catapult), and if you had put something on both the NE and E tile, it would've pushed me North, still in range of the catapult. Push directions are finicky but that was an unblockable kill unless you had tons more units to block with.
If the unit hasnt moved at all, it will always be pushed towards the centre. If that tile is blocked by a unit it will be pushed towards the sides of the centre and if that tile is blocked it will be pushed to the other side. The unit will move away from the centre as its last tile option. If a unit cannot move anywhere it goes poof Units that have already moved have a different mechanic. Your enemies units will be pushed back into the direction they came from and your units will be pushed towards the direction they were going. If you have any questions, ask.
Thank you, great content as always! I really love it when you're up against good players. And poor Zeyna for the city density and the fishing ruin 🙈; they might have to fix it so that you can't get water techs on dryland. And yes, a video on push order sounds great 👍
Love the video GullYY, great game again. Its better when you play with someone at your level than some random guys. And please do a video on the giant pushes, I never know where will the unit end up :D Thanks, learned a lot again.
Thanks to you, I've also been playing with xin-xi a lot in my games, and I have been finding them surprisingly fun. I've always thought they were just bad, but not any more :)
@1:45 also leaving cities lvl 1 I find leaves you a penalty when buying tech, the extra +1/2 stars per turn after the first upgrade counter acts the tech cost going up
Really informative video GullYY! I just wanted to ask if it would be possible to make a vision video? Focusing on ways of knowing what vision your opponent has and doesn't have, the various scenarios where it would and wouldn't be optimal to choose explorer over +1 stars! Thanks!
Here is a list of things to keep in mind for when trying to decide whether to go for an explorer or not: 1. Vision worth - How good is the vision you can get / how hard is it to obtain without doing an explorer. Seeing deep into your enemy territory makes the vision more worthy as you can see their backlines and what units they have. Its very hard to obtain this vision in other ways so its more worth than something like fogs on the side that you can explore easily. 2. Risk - Chances on whether the explorer goes backwards. If you have a small trail of fog back to your cities then the explorer has a chance to go for that instead. Its alright if the fog is far from the city though. 3. Economy difference - Missing out on 1 star per turn when you already have 45? Thats fine. But if you have like 7 the extra 1 star per turn is massive! Make sure your economy is good before taking an explorer. 4. How close the city is towards your opponent - Do more explorers in cities that are close to your opponent, not only to get more vision on them, but to sabotage them of 1 star per turn if they get the city. I recommend you do an explorer in your 2nd or 3rd city as a rule. For tiny and small you should do in 2nd city, for bigger maps do in 3rd city.
@@galadrootfs9397 I usually do 2nd city explorer when I start out with Yadak. Idk about Oumaji, since he has less trees and mountains to worry about and needs more eco, but the last time I've played him was when I had 30 minutes into the game instead of 30 hours now.
Oh I'd love to hear a video about push order! It's a small detail, but can be pretty useful. Pushing for me always seems random, but apparently it's not?
0:41 This is not quite true. The most common resources are actually the *worst* indicators of villages. Resources can spawn inside the 8 adjacent tiles of a village, but also in the 16 tiles you expand into when you get border growth at a reduced (1/3) rate that they spawn inside city borders. Xin actually has a more than 100% metal rate, because outside of their city borders they have a 46% rate of metal or 140% in city borders. Point is, if you see a mountain with metal in the first 25 tiles you have vision on, assuming there's no villages in the fog influencing the resources you see you have a practically 50/50 shot that the metal you see was spawned by only your capital. Whereas for a resource like fruit that's the most rare for xin (37.5% chance of a fruit on a field tile, or just over 10% chance it was spawned by your capital) that's the best way to predict that village you saw in the north. Your exploration north was spot on though
Huh. That's a very good point actually. I guess a better statement would be any mountain that *doesn't* have metal will *not* have a city within a 1 tile radius of it, but then again we can just use resources to indicate where cities are
"He's gonna go Rider/Roads, I'm going ..." It's nice to see a victory to a tech path besides Rider/Roads. "And this cool play where he remembered push order" I'd appreciate it if devs just let the player decide where a unit gets pushed too, instead of having to remember push order. Still, nice play from Zeyna. "I missed the fact that I could Explorer after seeing his dudes" Don't worry, that's an easy mistake to make. Yeah, it adds up, but it's also easy to make, so don't feel bad. "Zeyna gets fishing from ruins." OUCH!! That's a major setback. gg. Hard earned victory, which is nice to see, especially when you still win despite little mistakes here and there.
You know I think it'd be cool to see one of these 1v1s recorded live as opposed to an analysis. Just thinking it might be fun to hear your strategising live as you come up with stuff on the fly
They aren't necessarily a good tribe, but they are fun to play. We both agreed to both play Xin-Xi to make the match more interesting than Bardur throwing riders at eachother
Nah, you couldn't have prevented the push into catapult kill. Zeyna could have moved their swordsman north before killing your, causing the swordsman in the city to be pushed NE which would still allow it to get to the catapult. So don't worry, no mistake was made there. (Edit: oh hey, actually Zeyna already pointed that out themselves)
Can you please post a game in drylands using bardur against cymanti? Or tell me What to do please. I like to play with bardur but i am losing all the time against cymanti. Please teach me which strategy i need to win. Thanks. 🙂
I put it there because I would of needed forestry to put it in the most optimal spot, but I needed the giant and the Metropolis monument more. By the end of the game I could of gotten another giant in my capital using Organization and Mathematics, so it really doesn't make a difference
Veteran swordsman wasnt the thing i was hoping for, if i had gotten math or archery I couldve easily started to push back against the catas. stars wouldve given me enough stars to get math that turn and start training catas, population wouldve given me just enough to giant pop in capital, and explo wasnt an option (because of the tiles around being revealed). Ruin couldve easily changed the course of the game but i got fishing 😢
I've played against you before a few minutes! I couldn't belive that it is you hahah as i read your name😂😂😂 my game was so poor, and for Xinxi i met you too early before i could grow my eco Please add me to your friends! I really enjoy your videos since a year😁
