My neighbor bought 5150 when it came out and we blasted in his car. I was so glad I didn’t spend my $10 on that tape. As bad as Turbo is, I still like it. Reminds me of summer ‘86
5150 was a continuation of the style started on Jump that many VH diehards at the time absolutely hated. Judas Priest tried to appeal to women doing LA style party metal and was completely unconvincing. Despite that, it was probably the biggest JP ever were culturally in the US. Turbo Lover is an undeniably classic Priest track.🤘
First time commentor, long time viewer. I decided to play along in this game. Judas won for me with 5-4. Keep up the great work! 1. Turbo Lover 2. Locked In 3. Get Up 4. Dreams 5. Rock You All Around The World 6. Out In The Cold 7. Love Walks In 8. 5150 9. Reckless
Great song. I don't mind Turbo Lover, either. The rest of the album reeks. Turbo is the only album I ever returned to my local record store looking for store credit.
Thanks Waylon you truly do rule. Keep on keeping on bro. Great matchup and even though it's my least favorite Priest I was around when it was happening ( so to speak). JP wins every line up. Thanks Doctor.
1.) Good Enough 2.) Locked In 3.) Get Up 4.) Parental Guidance 5.) Summer Nights 6.) Out in the Cold 7.) Wild Nights and Crazy Days 8.) 5150 9.) Reckless Van Hagar-4 Judas Priest-5
This will be interesting. I've never been a fan of Van Halen with Sammy, though do like a few years of his solo career. Never owned the album but heard it to death back in the day. Never been a fan of Turbo but do check it out every few years, usually deciding nope...still not that good. 1. Turbo Lover ( it's actually a pretty cool song live, hearing Sammy do the Big Bopper intro was enough to turn me off) 2. Locked In (I heard the first "premier" of Why Can't This be Love on the local radio, but it was at 4:30 AM! My only thought was what the hell is this?) 3. Private Property 4. Dreams (I saw Sammy in Las Vegas for his birthday and he played this, did a cool version of this song. Not a fan of the song, but the version he did sounded good.) 5. Rock You All Around The World (perfect description from the good doctor!) 6. Out In The Cold ( Great song, extra negative points on Best of Both Worlds for the silly march they do!) 7. Wild Night Crazy Days 8. Hot For Love 9. Reckless Turbo 8 - 5150 1
Priest will win this!!!! 1. Turbo lover 2. Locked in 3. Get up 4. Parental guidance 5. Summer nights 6. Out in the cold 7. Love walks in 8. 5150 9. Reckless
Did you see Ralph that Sammy Chester Cheeto looking Hagar said that he basically feels he owns the Van Halen catalogue now?? He said since he’s the only member playing it, he feels like it’s his. What a load of BS. The guy is the most narcissistic egomaniac I’ve ever seen.
I hope you get well soon, Waylon! Turbo was the first Priest album that disappointed me and 5150 is the first Van Halen album that I thought sucked. So this is a perfect suck vs suck for me. 5150 is a colossal waste of the Van Halen brothers' talent and I don't know what the hell Priest was thinking with the Synthesizer guitars. How can you go from the awesomeness of Defenders to an album with synth guitars and releasing dance mix versions of your singles?
Turbo Lover Locked in Get Up Dreams Rock You All Around The World Out in the Cold Love Walls In 5150 Reckless I had done a show on Turbo and Change of Address from Krokus came up and my co-captain said that Change of Address makes Turbo sound like LED Zeppelin IV.
Call me crazy but I think these albums are pretty good. Keywords “I think” lol. Head to head I’m gonna give it to Turbo. And btw the more I listen to Reckless the more I think it would’ve been perfect for Top Gun 👍🏻
Doctor Eddie Ganja Here I agree yeah I saw The Turbo Tour Judas Priest and Dokken 5150 is disgrace to The name VanHalen I also don't care for Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden And the Maiden album after that
I liked some Belcher, Montrose, some solo, and some Van Hagar, but not as much as I like you ripping on Slammy Belcher! The Priest album? Private Property, Parental Guidance, and Rock You All Around The World blows bulls and they must've been trying to milk bulls while creating these songs! 5150 was the worst of the Van Gina era. As a whole album? Judas Priest Thanks Waylon and Ralph!🤘🤘 Rock In Peace Eddie🎸

Holy o fuck this is an uber suck vs suck . The Turbo thing still has me talking to myself about the level of disappointment i felt when i bought that fucking turd . The only other time i felt that same way was the unveiling of Metallica load another turd de la creme. Honorable mention to Celtic Frost cold lake for disappointed. As far as the Van gina bit they should of called themselves the Kirby Hoover band . Why do you ask ? Well its simple Both Kirby and Hoover were well know brands of very excellent vacuum cleaners and they excell at sucking. Should of known better when i seen the Turbo album cover that it would suck.

Both of these albums suck. I saw Priest on this tour. Great show, but the album sucks. I agree, "Parental Guidance" is a steaming turd. And still, Vangina is even worse. Van Halen (first 6 albums) is your favorite dog. Vangina is your favorite dog's turd on the living room floor. You bag it up and dispose of it. 🤘
I honestly dislike Turd-bo more than I do 5150. 1. Good Enough. I really really cannot stand Turd-bo Lover 2. Locked In 3. Get Up 4. Dreams (it sucks less than Parental Guidance) 5. Summer Nights 6. Thank you!

It never dawned on me until today.. but that Vanginafied intro WAS the ultimate snub and insult to The Big Bopper's memory..🙈😅😁

5150 exemplifies what happens to a band when it's subjected to the Belcher effect.
Totally unrelated, but happy 76th birthday to Ozzy.
Priest wins for out in the cold alone
Great song. I don't mind Turbo Lover, either. The rest of the album reeks. Turbo is the only album I ever returned to my local record store looking for store credit.
I'd like to go back to 1986 and have to deal with both albums. 1986 was a great year for me. Certainly better than what the world is like now.
AYYYYYYYYYYYYY my 5150 photo edit is in the thumbnail 😂😂😂😂
Great job
Thanks Waylon you truly do rule. Keep on keeping on bro. Great matchup and even though it's my least favorite Priest I was around when it was happening ( so to speak). JP wins every line up. Thanks Doctor.
I am one of those guys that loves any Priest album with Rob in it , even Turbo ..,
I like both albums

I'm your turbo lingering fart smell. Don't waste your money on any Lysol man. This one's gonna stink no matter what.

good that both albums were from 1986. as you say the albums upto 1984 were good enough for you!
There are many killer albums after 1984. Just not as good as the best albums from 1984.
@almosthuman56 true but I was referring to VH 😀
Turbo definitely wins for me. The only songs I like from 5150 qre Dreams and Love Walks In.
I love me some Turbo but definitely doesn’t top the 70s and early 80s Priest albums. I call 5150 “Shitty150”💩
HA HA! Love the Suck vs Suck. SCHMAAAAXK A MA GOB!
My GF thought turbo lover was called terrible lover 😅 turbo still is better compared to 5150.
Oh god
I dont know what it is about hot for love but i like it too lol
The solo
before van halen sammy really was just a one hit wonder artist " i can't drive 55 " is all he has got .
Many thanks going out to The Doc and Waylon🤘✌️
Turbo, not even close
Ducking high Larry us!
Parental Guidance always reminds me of a Kiss song from the same timeframe
I had a poster of Judas Priest on roller skates. That was more metal than Turbo.
Priest will win this!!!!

Have not seen it.Liking his music is ok. But whoever thinks he is a good person is an idiot.
Freaking hell. Hagar never fails to cheer me up. What a cynical idiot.
Laughed all the way through this video, Priest wins this.

Hey Dr. If I send ya a couple bucks will you do Hanson's debut lp vs The Teletubbies greatest hits?
sure
Turbo easily but I do like Love Walks in also
JUDAS PRIEST = 0
VAN HALEN = 0
DR.= 9 + 1 for being great ! = 10🤘
You're welcome and listen to Black Sabbath and stay frosty and smackagobb
My vote goes to judas priest on this one .
Doctor Eddie Ganja Here I agree yeah I saw The Turbo Tour Judas Priest and Dokken 5150 is disgrace to The name VanHalen I also don't care for Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden And the Maiden album after that
Turbo is easily one of my favorite Judas Priest studio efforts!
I thought you like torbo?
Or maybe I got confused by some other video
Yeah. Totally confused me with someone else.
I like Turbo 500x more. And Turbo is Not a very good Priest album.
I liked some Belcher, Montrose, some solo, and some Van Hagar, but not as much as I like you ripping on Slammy Belcher! The Priest album? 5150 has to be the worst sounding/produced album ever. Even the new remasters don't sound good.
Oh c’mon Turbo deserves better. Love ya brother
I saw van Gina on the" for unlawful" tour in 91 and it was the most boring, lame show I ever went to( besides Boston, yawn) van Halen always plays most of the new album they are touring behind, so we had to endure most of that shit f.u.c.k.album, I've been to 197 concerts and that one stands out in lamedom.

Nooooo...I love turbo!! Lolol
I have a promo cassette with an extended remix of Turbo. That, and Out In the Cold are the only songs I like. Sorry, never liked Van Belcher.

I like Turbo, but 5150 is underwhelming, it's my least favorite VH album with Sammy
Belcher is a Jock. VH and Priest were not. Roth was "athletic" but not like Belcher, who never could manage his own hair.
ok , likely a very unpopular opinion here , but I don't even like Montrose , so yeah there , I said it .., never got the hype , never understood why so many folks say it is one of the USA's best answers to the brits and hard rock/metal .., it is just a meh rock album for me ..,
I agree, I mean I do like it musically. Vocals suck. And there far better bands musically back then.
At the time the Montrose debut album came out it seemed pretty good. But I agree that it has not stood up over time.
Both of these albums suck. I saw Priest on this tour. Great show, but the album sucks. I agree, "Parental Guidance" is a steaming turd. And still, Vangina is even worse.
