Wow! This video got many more views than I thought it would. Thanks for watching! I've since converted this go kart to an electric go kart and its faster than ever! Be sure to check out my playlist on the entire build process!
catfisher420 can’t put spacers beneath because of the engine adjustment bolt and he can’t take a link out because it’s an awkward between the links spot
Don't know if you did anything with the chain yet but look at what they call "half links". I just converted my grandsons minibike and I needed to lengthen the chain by 1/2 link. They work great. Nice series BTW. You get it done without a lot of wasted air time.
Was my thought as soon as he mentioned the clearance issues on the bolts of the sprocket haven't finished the video but that chain is real loose. I was thinking why not space the engine a little higher. I didn't watch the next video yet but they should be twice the power and twice the speed basically.
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
Refit the torque converter at a higher angle using different mounting holes to fix to the engine then move your engine back to normal position to sort front rear balance and chain tension.
Install another small sprocket below the chain to take up the slack. You can even get fancy and spring load the tensioner sprocket to keep the chain tight but also give you the ability to more easily re-seat the chain in the event it jumps off or breaks
As for the chain tention install a plastic pulley wheel with a bolt and a bracket on the bottom with a a slotted piece of metal so u can ajust the chain by moving the pulley wheel
i just installed a series 30 clutch and torque converter on my little cousins kart. The belt mostly just slips on the clutch. It won't do more than a few mph and doesn't go anywhere at the slightest incline. I've tried all 3 pre sets and everything else i can think of. I can see the clutch start to squeeze, but it still doesn't grab the belt. The belt came new with the kit. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.
You need to use the sliding motor mount plate, you could’ve left the seat in the position it was originally designed to fit. These plates either come in standard setting or a 15° tilt forward.
if you dont want to take out a link in the chain you can also put shims or washers under the engine to rise it up to get more clearence and slack out of your chain all at the same time
Might be a stupid question but is there any way I can get a kit like that but works for a belt driven go kart? I can't change the pulley off my rear axle things are welded and pressed into place
+ can you shim up the motor? I noticed your mounting system was pretty cool, but couldn't tell if there is a way for you to add shim to raise the motor. thanks Rich
Does the drive and driven pulleys have to be mounted that way? I just picked up a trike from the 1970s that had a converter setup on it but the driven pulley is mounted opposite of the drive from how yours is (no belt- doesn’t run yet)
i had a go kart when i was a kid, with such a bad clutch that it wouldn't engage unless you sprayed wd40 in it.. and it would only move for a little before the wd40 would burn up, so i would drive around the parking lot one handed spraying my clutch and driving at the same time haha
Torque converter substitution is not for the faint of heart. There are lots of spacing and alignment issues. Simple clutches can be had down to 15 bucks, if you shop around. Torque converters are better, when done right.
Hey buddy, that was a good video. I wanted to know your chain specification that you have used. Length in terms of pitches basically and the pitch of the same. Ty in advance.
Just an after thought, rotate the CVT mounting plate counter-clockwise to the next set of engine mount holes, if that takes out too much slack then move your engine back slightly.
Have you tried buying a half link? I had the same problem with the go kart frame I bought, the location of the engine mount and sprocket made it impossible to get rid of the slack by cutting the chain, so I made a half link by hammering a spare link; but I would recommend buying a half link at a store, any hardware store should have them, I even saw one at my local Menards...

Move ur engine UP. to tighten the chain. custom build so you can adjust the chain tightness!
prašau. palikite
zed4me what kind of engine are you using
Wheere you bougth the CVT transmision?
Hey man do you happen to know if this torque converter will work on the Honda gx200 engine?
Raise the engine with spacers too tighten the chain. OR just take a link out of the chain!
catfisher420 can’t put spacers beneath because of the engine adjustment bolt and he can’t take a link out because it’s an awkward between the links spot
@@farmboysteve3295 they make half links

Chain looks fine go ride it! I put a cvt on a race kart years ago and what a blast it was!!
I just finished the very same conversion on my kart ... The 212 cc and torque converter make a huge difference ...Thanks for sharing .
shawn mcintyre im from india can u tell me how can i get this torque converter in india though any websites
double the engine mount washers so engine goes little higher and the chain will be tight 👍🏼

Good idea !!

i try something like you said nd motor didn't want to start
I have a question how do you tight in up the torque converter belt .
Awesome Conversion.... CVT are the best !!!

You probably have it all worked out by now but if you don't all you need to do is raise the engine and it will take the slack out of the chain.
is it torque conveter or CVT transmission?
Damn good video Man! 👍
Thanks for making this video. Please don't give up keep trying.
Refit the torque converter at a higher angle using different mounting holes to fix to the engine then move your engine back to normal position to sort front rear balance and chain tension.
I usually make small chain tensioners from thin nylon sheet bent in a v shape. It becomes it's own spring.
Install another small sprocket below the chain to take up the slack. You can even get fancy and spring load the tensioner sprocket to keep the chain tight but also give you the ability to more easily re-seat the chain in the event it jumps off or breaks
Good job. They can be a pain some times.
When you took off your old clutch did your new torque converter have any teeth for the chain
where did you buy the live axle an sprocket?
Great Video!
It didn't have a lot of room to spare that's for sure.
Looks nice.
I hope it works well for ya.
Take care.
::Subbed::
can u please tell me how did u fix the breaks
Washers as spacers on engine mount would help tighten the chain - in case anyone else has this issue. :)
can you place a link pls where you buyed the converter?😄
Hi Zed. Does go Kart need differential. Is is easy enough to turn without it?
You can get a little more clearance if you raise the engine on it's mounts just s little if forward travel is maxed-out.
Would u change the sprocket ratio after the cvt or keep it the same?
What seat brackets did you use for the go-kart I have the same go-kart can't find the right brackets
Where do you get the frame from? Sure like to build one from kit.
@zed4me how long is the chain on yours
As for the chain tention install a plastic pulley wheel with a bolt and a bracket on the bottom with a a slotted piece of metal so u can ajust the chain by moving the pulley wheel
Yes that would be a great piece of work as there would not be any chassis to cut and the chain would be adjustable..
What If my drive drive shaft on the engine doesn’t have a hole in the end so I can’t bolt down the front pulley

I LIKE YOUR GO KART, I PLAN TO MAKE IT SOON
Torque Convertor or CVT Gearbox? and wont it still need a Centrifugal Clutch?
You could put a longer chain to move the engine forward for better clearance.
if you dont want to take out a link in the chain you can also put shims or washers under the engine to rise it up to get more clearence and slack out of your chain all at the same time
How about boring out the holes for the engine mount or just making new ones further ahead?
that's clean
Is there a way to adjust the torque converter? Out of no where mine started locking up
Might be a stupid question but is there any way I can get a kit like that but works for a belt driven go kart? I can't change the pulley off my rear axle things are welded and pressed into place

can you shim up the motor?
I noticed your mounting system was pretty cool, but couldn't tell if there is a way for you to add shim to raise the motor. thanks Rich
good job !!
where did you get the go cart chassis from? (and where did you get the converter?)
where did you buy the Torque converter?!
Does the drive pulley act like a centrifugal clutch? If not, how does it work?
Dont you need any kind of clutch with this CVT torque converter?
amigo, onde eu consigo comprar essa embreagem?
Does the drive and driven pulleys have to be mounted that way? I just picked up a trike from the 1970s that had a converter setup on it but the driven pulley is mounted opposite of the drive from how yours is (no belt- doesn’t run yet)
Isn't that technically a CVT belt system?
great video I subscribed

sir can you please tell me the dimensions of CVT used and seller
good night, how does the gearbox know when to turn if there is no gear?
from rpm?
What kind if grearing you use
I love those predator engines
sprocket , chain ,
Diameter, curve
Unable to meet
why no differential
Do you have a link to the sprocket?
Shorten the chain and move the engine back. You also can raise the height on the engine on the mounting plate.
What engine mount did you use bro
And what kind of torque converter is it?
You might be able to get a half link for the chain which might help to reduce the play you have.
bring the engine up with some spacers if you can.. that'll tighten the chain.. sweet ride bud!
move your engine to the other side and put a 40~42 tooth gear
Torque converter substitution is not for the faint of heart. There are lots of spacing and alignment issues. Simple clutches can be had down to 15 bucks, if you shop around. Torque converters are better, when done right.
Hey buddy, that was a good video. I wanted to know your chain specification that you have used. Length in terms of pitches basically and the pitch of the same. Ty in advance.
I just know it's #35 chain, not sure how long currently
Why is this called a torque converter? It is a variable speed pulley setup!
Larry Will THANK YOU may as well call it a cvt
Great video very helpful, what kind of chain and sprocket do you have
#35 chain, sprocket I think is 48teeth
Hey mate what size is the engine shaft 19mm ?? I’m looking into one I am but is 3/4 the same as 19mm ?
Hello, where did you purchase the product? Can you share the link please?
where did you get your wheeles
where did you get the CVT ??
i must have missed it.... but HOW did you place that chain on (especially with that Belt in place) ?????
Umm you do know that chains come apart via master-link right! If so I'm not sure exactly what you're confused about.
Put a spring weighted idler to put pressure on the chain taking up the slack in the chain.
What is the name of the big piece which you entegrate the machine? I want to have it but i dont know its name.
Yes, just add washers underneath your engine to raise it up. That should tighten the chain. Good Luck
what size is the belt ?
boa tarde amigo, como faço para comprar torque converter
does a tav2 torque convertor works for a 420cc engine? The help would be appreciated
there are versions that will fit the 420cc engines
hey where did you get that torque converter like ur video thank you
dbi1036 I got mine from eBay
Have a half link on the chain
It's very good
half link with master link tilt motor back to install chain then tighten up bolts for tension.
Just an after thought, rotate the CVT mounting plate counter-clockwise to the next set of engine mount holes, if that takes out too much slack then move your engine back slightly.
Good thought but the CVT would then hit exhaust
did you throw the clutch out? if not I will take it
Damn that mounting plate is on a big angle
which motor mount are you using. I seem to be having clearance issues between air filter and tire so i need a mount to raise motor.
Sorry the mount came with the kart so idk. You can get spacers instead of a new mount though
Can you not take 1-3 links out from the chain to get it a little bit tighter ?
Have you tried buying a half link? I had the same problem with the go kart frame I bought, the location of the engine mount and sprocket made it impossible to get rid of the slack by cutting the chain, so I made a half link by hammering a spare link; but I would recommend buying a half link at a store, any hardware store should have them, I even saw one at my local Menards...
What about a tensioner pully like a car engine serpentine belt or spring and pully onto bottom of chain motor bike?
the sprocket on your torq go up a theeth or two that will make it bigger to take out the slack in your chain
it'L Be Fine!
For test purpose
Dabs Allday808 CARS AND CAMERAS
Vitor Leão yaaaassss cars and cameras
What gear ratio do you use?
Hello, can u give me the size of the belt
What's your engine mount called and where did you get ir from?
Not sure, came with the kart
Normally a wheel pulley straight to engine pulley. This adds one extra wheel so three wheels?
If it’s too long, build a bracket and idler sprocket on the Slack side.
Where did you buy this from?
Nothing is that simple anymore 😊
