    I completely agree about the brass and the additional weight of the truck. Excess weight has a negative impact on your capabilities. I think that replacing the F 10 portal axles with aluminum ones is quite enough for maximum performance. What do you think about it?

    venting the tires is a huge performance gain. i dont care what anyone says about its fine not vented. look at any pro moa crawler or sporty they ALL vent. it makes the rig more bouncy not vented. unless you run in water there is zero downside to venting.

    Nice job on that rig. Great explanation. I love that point right when the rig manages to clear the obstacle. Thanks for sharing.

    I need one!!! Hurry and. One back in stock! I have some F10’s just chomping at the bit for that chassis. Will it work with In The Works Phoenix high clearance links?

    I picked up a set of F10s to drop into my VP Pro while I redo the Aluminum F9s (cleaning up and anodizing or something). Then moving the F10s to an LCG rig. I really like your setup and think it is a definite contender for my future build. Do you have a full parts list somewhere that could help build up a similar/same rig?

      Hey hey! It's basically just a Negative G SCv1 kit with phoenix length links. Shocks are dravtech shorts.
      Motors is a Team Brood Riot S 1850, ESC is a wraith 32 with am32 and the servo is an AGFrc direct power 12v.

    Nice fucking rig man. I dont have an LCG crawler (yet). This makes me want to get that kit and set one up. It doesnt look like LCG crawlers are budget friendly so it'll take a little time to save up for it.

    Nice video, but I had to comment before I’m even done watching. You really have to vent your tires to get the maximum performance out of your lil novas bro. Hopefully they are the comp cut inners too. That is all I use. Keep up the good work. Negative G is one of the top 3 or 4 choices for lcg rigs on my next build (capra axle).

    • @OH-Hobbies
      @OH-Hobbies 2 года назад

      Also, you need to run medium density outers in the rear, and the softs in the front. You touched on a subject that I could really use your advice on though. Thanks for that. My upcoming build with capra axles, just got complimented with the new Dlux fab portal transmission that only has a 3 to 1 gear ratio. I have to get the correct kv revolver motor. I like nothing but climbing, and torque. Not a huge wheel speed guy, or specific class comps. Mainly just like ridiculous climbs.

    • @Furadi
      @Furadi  2 года назад

      You just explained why I don't vent tires... because I run the appropriate weight foam for my rigs. The tires are flat. You can see them conforming on the table. Why would I vent them? lol.

    • @dennychaput4689
      @dennychaput4689 Год назад

      Furadi, most people that plan to go muddin or wet conditions or ie; stream crossings will put three 1/8” holes to let moisture vent out three in between knobs of tread in three spots. Prevents moldy stink tire. But if you never get wet, then it’s cool.

    • @dennychaput4689
      @dennychaput4689 Год назад

      Some people use exacto blade, others use a leather style 1/8” hole punch.

    • @OH-Hobbies
      @OH-Hobbies Год назад +1

      @@dennychaput4689 So Denny, I was only trying to tell him that venting your tires, while running dual stage foams (like CI Lil Nova’s, comp cut inner, soft outer for front, and medium for rear, ((according to the weight of the truck)), is the only way to make dual stage foams work properly. On the other hand, if you drive through mud, or water, it is a bad idea. I don’t drive through wet shit, only granite walls. When you don’t vent your tires, the air is trapped, and won’t let your tires conform to rock as well, and your just riding on balloony tires.

    Curious what are your thoughts on reducing the gearing at the portals vs doing an underdrive ring and pinion? Wouldn't that accomplish the same thing?

    • @Furadi
      @Furadi  2 года назад

      No it wouldn't. Regardless of the gearing the torque has to follow the least path of resistance so if the portals are still geared tall the energy will dissipate at the ring and pinion regardless of the gearing.

  • @popibul

    There is no way to have torq tuist on portals

    Which LIL nova are you using? 4.5 or 4.25? I am talking about the inner ring.

    • @Furadi
      @Furadi  2 года назад

      They're just listed as 4.75.

    • @miniboom007
      @miniboom007 2 года назад

      @@Furadi if you watch the videos on the foams he (owner) recommends using 4.25" if the vehicle is less than 5 lbs. I am weighing in at 4.75 lbs. So I am using Soft foams with 4.5" in front. And 4.5" with med in the rear. Haven't ran it yet cause of rain. I happen to have them at home (foams). But after a test run will make the adjustment if needed. As always thanks for the video and tips. Now I see why Jess didn't design them for straight axles (torque twist issue).

    I disagree with the straight axles not performing well. Your design are tall gearing between the fmm and transfer case, because they are design for trx4 axle reduction. Obviously you needs modified the gearing in your FMM and Transfer to compensate the difference in gear ratio in the straight axle or in this case F10.

    • @Furadi
      @Furadi  2 года назад +3

      I'm surprised it took this long for someone to bring that up. 😁 We did spend a few months testing straight axles and ultimately we just couldn't get them to perform as well as portals. 👌
