For me getting new FMF headers and Q4 Pro exhaust, the biggest noticeable change was sound. While exchanging the biggest difference was how much lighter the FMF system was. The stock headers and exhaust are very heavy compared to the FMF. Biggest suggestions for performance upgrade is Dynojet carb kit and Stage one hot cams. Then run premium fuel and zoom!! For the desmog unsure if that made a difference or not other than weight. I run the freeway all the time and the bike drinks oil my guess is its getting blasted out the breather due to to much pressure over time. T16 sprocket makes it not rev to high on the freeway and with the upgrades I mentioned it still zooms!
Hi there nice video awesome bike I used to race them back in 80s well times change I’m 50 years old now I’m looking to buy one my question is what oils do you recommend thanks and have a great day
Yes these are tall. I just ordered a Pro Circuit T4 exhaust but it's on back order until early May. I'll be making my ore videos. Thanks for subscribing!
I just got a new one too. It’s also my second XR650L. It’s so good to be back on a XR. 🏁

I've been using Honda brand but it's not a finicky bike about oil. Just keep it fresh and full is the most important thing.
Great video and information.I just got a 2023.She is a tall one!
