Great Video 👍 I did the WJ swap in my ZJ last week but I just installed the pressure relief valve and the power steering cooler. WOW I noticed a difference. Oh BTW time to bring the TJ back 👊
I have a 1999 4 cylinder 2.5 cherokee and a having problems when packing as the steering get very hard. Can you tell me what upgrade I can do to ma,e it work better? Many thanks Paul
Just curious. Anybody know if the YJ and the XJ use the same pump? I learned the hard way that the XJ and the WJ share the same pump on the 4.0 & 4.7 litre in '99 & 2000. I think it's the '01 - '04 4.7 & 5.9 V8's that use the quicker/stronger pump with 2 low pressure lines?
So the TJ reservoir fits on the WJ pump because both pump housings are the same casting. correct? So to use the WJ pump on a TJ, the only requirements are to swap the TJ high pressure output fitting & TJ reservoir over to the WJ pump?
Only on the WJs equipped with a hydraulic cooling fan, very rare have I seen that. More common is either one electric fan or both the electric fan and clutch fan together for the towing package.

Any guide on a teardown of these pumps? I'm trying to rebuild mine and I can't really find any guides online.

I would enjoy seeing a video on
teardown.
Pretty interesting comparison . I would not have known that there was a difference between the two pumps. Great video , keep them coming . Take care .
Thank you, appreciate it!

It seems that way, don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
i was told that the reservoir will not swap over. they have a different style connection and oring
Does the Grand Cherokee pump use the same pulley, or is that needed too?
In other words, can I reuse the reservoir AND pulley from the TJ?
i think the pulley is NOT the same, and you need to swap your old pulley over (most new or reman pumps don't come with a new pulley anyway)
micrometer? caliper?
Thank you
My steering feels extremely over assisted and pls don say caster, any tips ??
probably toe if not caster
Anyone know if an 06 factory pump will work in a 97
The WJ pump doses two jobs, one steering two runs the rad. fan

So your saying bite the bullet and buy a PSC.....
That’s what I would recommend. but some people have success with the swap.
PSC $500 versus $120 for WJ. $350-$400 can be spent elsewhere.
