    "ravis Victor Alexander (July 28, 1977 - June 4, 2008) was an American salesman who was murdered by his ex-girlfriend, Jodi Ann Arias (born July 9, 1980), in his house in Mesa, Arizona. Arias was convicted of first-degree murder on May 8, 2013, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on April 13, 2015.
    At the time of the murder, Alexander sustained 27 stab wounds, a slit throat and a single gunshot wound to the forehead. Arias testified that she killed him in self-defense, but nevertheless she was convicted by the jury of first-degree murder. " -wikipedia

    The gunshot first makes sense. She shot him, he didn’t immediately die, and she went in to overkill mode. Logic would say that she probably would have gone gun first, and only switched to the knife when he didn’t immediately die.

    Even though this case is 2 million crime years old, i still love your coverage of it!
    Literally the only thing that i found surprising was when you said the objection shouldn't have been sustained lol. There is so much info that is left out of trials due to motions and then removed through objections where you know it's true and it's a fact but the pretrial stuff limits it or its been removed... In this scenario, objection speculation, was a proper objection and the judge was right to sustain it. However, just bc you tell a jury to ignore it, the cats out of the bag and you can't unhear so in that regard it was worth trying to sneak in bc the jury heard it anyways. The guy asking questions should've rephrased though so that this wasn't asked in the form of speculation and could be answered, even if it was with "i don't remember".
    It sucks that jury's rarely, if ever, get the entire story from either side bc IMO that creates a bias. If they're allowing in facts they should allow them all in, not just some. If that requires calling a different expert to testify about it in order to get it in then they should. I feel like a lot of the ppl who have been exonerated wouldn't have been convicted in the first place had they been able to tell their full side, similarly, i think a lot of people have walked bc the judge limited info that was allowed.
    Example, with the Natalia Grace trial against her adoptive dad, the judge wouldn't allow any info about her age to be brought into it, the jury didn't know the dad and mom had her age changed from being born in 2003 to bring born in 1989! Had the jury known this, they would've at least had all the info and been able to better decide. The court handicapped the prosecutor!
    Second example, Barry Morphew, everyone and their dog is pretty sure he did it, but bc the prosecutor missed a deadline they were sanctioned by not being allowed to put in a TON of fact based evidence, so instead of trying him, they withdrew the charges knowing they would have lost. At least now, that can refile at anytime and hopefully get a judge that doesn't try to dismiss facts from being heard. The victims shouldn't be punished bc of a prosecutor or because the info appears biased out of the gate.
    Sorry for the rant Gray! The courts often suck when it comes to what they allow in and what they don't. The reality is if it's part of the case or investigation it should be allowed bc it was part of discovery, a fair trial is only fair if esp side gets to present what they can from the discovery.
    The Jodi Arias case was beyond disgusting bc she literally got to stand there and try and sell freaking t-shirts after she was convicted and she was using Travis death as a way to play the victim even after convicted! The court imo should've shut that part down!

    Fascinating. What is intriguing about the clip of her talking about him getting shot in the shower is her demeanor. In all the other interrogation footage, it is clear that she’s lying. In this, she seems completely different - like she’s finally able to tell someone about what happened to him and how he responded, (except that it was she who pulled the trigger and not some intruder). It also answers the question about why she would go to the trouble of brining a gun but not use it until after stabbing and slitting his throat. If she did use it first, but it didn’t get the job done, she would go seek other means of killing him. Fascinating and brutal.

    • @edt5976

      Um gun holds more bullets, so why shoot once and run for a knife? Doesn't make sense. I don't know how she could have dragged his body when he would be clearly wet from the shower and all the blood, she would've had a hard time keeping grip. I'm six two 200 pounds and even I would have had a hard time moving him.

    I wonder if the gun jammed, and that's why she only shot Travis once. Or did she fear neighbors responding to more gunfire? Or did she plan all along to use both weapons? Rhetorically of course.

    • @jacksyoutubechannel4045
      @jacksyoutubechannel4045 4 месяца назад

      I think it's possible that she only brought one bullet. It's always seemed to me that she planned to stage it as a suicide (she laid some weird breadcrumbs about him being depressed, etc.), but wasn't able to when everything went sideways. I can absolutely see her thinking of it primarily as bringing a prop, and so only loaded the gun with one bullet.
      I've always agreed with Gray that the 'ninja' story contains a lot of truth about what happened in the bathroom, and it's telling to me that she says they shot him and he was still alive, not that they shot him and the gun jammed, but he was still alive. Why wouldn't the ninjas just shoot him again if they had the bullets? I actually think that if her concern was the sound of two gunshots, she would've woven that into the weird conversation between the ninjas, who she had do a lot of 'villain monologuing.'

    • @Sojourners3
      @Sojourners3 4 месяца назад

      @@jacksyoutubechannel4045 Appreciate your response. Yes, it could very well be her original intent was as a staged suicide, and as you say, that was before everything went sideways. And staged in the shower would help account for no gun residue on his hand?
