Appreciate the head swap. Had no interest in this other than the head for an Army of Darkness custom, but 10:42 convinces me that slapping a coat and such on this body could turn this into a Cyberpunk 2077/Edgerunners-style cyberpsycho. Hope they eventually do a single release.
I'm 100% one of the people that wanted Pretty Boy and who wants to finish this Reavers team. I absolutely didn't want him to be in a 5-pack. I wanted a single-release both for price and to customize a second one. I don't really care about the swirly-twirly plastic here because the details make it less obvious. What I do care about is the headsculpt. I don't think it's a good representation of Pretty Boy, but that's personal preference. But I think there should definitely be either an additional headsculpt or at least a vest or jacket, which he often drawn with.
@@AnthonysCustoms Sometimes they seem to be trying to make the headsculps look like all the different interpretations of the character, or like some sort of half-thing that doesn't quite match any one particular look.
The Reavers are a team that I do like mainly for their varied designs, but I'm not attached to them enough to where I feel the need to hunt down that prior BAF wave or this 5-pack. This figure looks solid, but I still feel his arms should be more skeletal like his legs. With Marvel Legends I'm super picky, I try to go just for the classic iconic characters and ones that I have a strong personal attachment to, I rarely ever get a full wave and I'm not going to get a whole wave of characters I don't have a place for in my collection if I just want the BAF. With that I don't get many X-Men releases, I've got pretty much all the team members and villains I really care about at this point. Characters like Mojo, Blob and Multiple Man or the Reavers I'm just not attached to enough to spend the money on them, especially those bigger deluxe releases which I have no space for anyway.
Both pistols were first made and released with the single carder release of the MCU Winter Soldier that was meant to tie in to the Falcon and the Winter Soldier show. Here they are just randomly assigned to Pretty Bot
@@johns3153 Yeah I am aware. My point was that these guns specifically aren't identical to guns from the comics and are just random reuse (granted reuse that works).
I'll wait til someone sells him seperately. I do need him for the Reavers crew. We need Donald Pierce! Hopefully prime day give this pack a huge discount. I'm done buying most legends at MSRP. Weird that they're mixing MCU weapons with comic weapons.
I really hope you're right about them being re-released in single cards. Stryfe is going for absurd prices second-hand, as has been for years. I think when this goes on sale, if its at least half off, it might be worth it.
Thanks for the video AC. Stryfe is NOT a reason to pay full pop for this one. Here is hoping they pull off a Mojo/Longshot maneuver and throw it on a retro card. Would you know if the head portraits are designed at a different manufacturer? Would head portraits receive more "budget" money then bucks?
thats not really how it works to my knowledge. each figure is given a budget to fit within the overall budget. they are definitely all made in the same location though.
Not usually different "manufacturer" but different studios/sculptors. A lot of the recent (more realistic) head sculpts are sculpted by Paul Harding, while a lot of the bodies are sculpted by May Thamtarana, Rene Aldrete, Eddie Mosqueda, or are older bucks from other artists, many of which were commissioned from a variety of artists by Gentle Giant Studios.
@@whitespyder9 Thanks. I appreciate your help on this. I've noticed a trend in a discrepancy between the art on the portraits and the art (or some times lack thereof) in the bucks. Pretty Boy's an example of this - portrait good, buck uhmmm
I feel like they do neck ball joints that way for “safety” reasons because they can’t have small pieces, like joints, coming off the figure. Even though it comes with small accessories. It’s the only reason I can think of why they make the neck joints so sunken in.
I agree with this rating but I think you should get HARSHER on your other figures. IMO, I think if something is absolutely average, completely middle of the road, it should be getting a 5 in said department, because I see you sometimes giving figures that are absolutely crap a 7 in the articulation department when they don't warrant enough improvements or range to get numbers like that.
took a couple years telling hasbro to do vertical hinges for hands, and now we're getting them more. So maybe in a couple years we'll also have functioning ball pegs that aren't too deep since you've been mentioning that lately. they just lag a couple years behind after hearing your advice 😆
i think in such a 5 pack should be figures with at least new pieces, some power effects ... I start to regret i pre-ordered this... and the worst thing is who knows if he will re-issues them... Now this figure is an example that they can add new parts and effects.
I swear, every ML should be wait until it drops in price on Amazon in order to get something worth the price. Only a few figures are worth MSRP. Few. Probably wait until each figure is less than $20 and maybe I'll consider of actually thinking about these figures for a few seconds.
06:10 I feel this so much. What the heck is up with them screwing these simple things up? They did it better with War Machine!!! They have now done downgrades to almost every articulation point. They should improve with new figures, or at least use the best solutions that they already have figured out!
As an X-Men villain team I love the Reavers and will never ever collect this team since it’s locked behind a build a figure and a five pack, both of which would saddle me a bunch of over priced trash figures ( Sure some of them would be great for building the Mauraders and the Mutant Liberation Front?) Another great review 👍
I really wanted this character and I'm glad to have it, the Reavers where an important part of a story arc I really enjoyed to read in the X-Men. This is a good Marvel Legend and I'm happy to own it. I agree with your critics Anthony, thanks for the review.
Part of me is really looking forward to rival collectibles coming out one day, but part of me thinks it will ruin all other figures for me. Not sure how to feel about that.
Great and honest review as always! I was wondering if you are going to get and review the TMNT Ronin from Neca, would like to hear your thoughts on it.
I was scrambling to buy this pack prior to your reviews (I already have the old Stryfe and he's perfectly fine) and now I'm not going to bother. Thank you for saving me >$100 CAD
A firm and fair review. 👍 I was interested in this figure as a body for the Silvermane head I got with Speed Demon way back when. I won't buy this 5 pack. It's overpriced and has some very half hearted figures. Fingers crossed for a single release.
Really like this figure overall and it’s really not that spectacular honestly. It seems really great compared to the regular trash Hasbro puts out but compared to other companies at this price point this figure is still weak IMO.
Thank you for calling Ha$blow out for their sneaky games of including good figures with bad ones in a multi-pack. Pathetic for a billion dollars corporation. No doubt the 5-pack will be on sale at Amazon, but by then good luck finding one that hasn't been return by the customers with fig swap.
Been a big Reavers fan since their debut. I passed on this because I didn’t want any of the other figures. These packs are usually filled out with characters I care little for.
This is the third major fivepack that they've done this with recently and there are complaints each time. They don't care. I guess the people who buy the pack (who would only want 1 or 2) offset the losses of people like you who would ONLY buy 1 or 2 and therefore don't buy any when they try to force you to pay for them all.
Ngl the head reminds me of Ash Williams from Army of Darkness specifically

That pic with Darwin's head on Pretty Boy's body is hilarious!😂 Excellent review/vid✌️

Hyper realistic faces and proportioning with comic style colors and detail makes this figures look like fkn Jay Jay the Jet Plane

He's a PRETTY BOY and he's living on a west Side, living so loud you could never hear him cry.
Thanks for the reviews on these figures. I cancelled my pre-order and plan to play the long game on these.

Are the arms original sculpts, or are they re-used from other figures?
I’m waiting for a discount
I only want stryfe, but ngl I’m a fan of zero so I’d be happy getting that too
Watching this while on holiday in Maderia, has ads in Portuguese. I see a lot of people using this head for Superman.

Not sure. I think i might buy the normal one some day and they might be sending me the unarmored version as a sample.
Have you tried the machine-man bindy arm extensions for elongated grappling/punching?
I haven't
At least Marvel don't force Hasbro to make no gun accessories for character's that are supposed to have guns, Warner Bros.
