Hi, Christine Have you ever used the magic circle for the beginning of your footwear? In any project that calls for a circle to start with. If not it works better. Tri it sometime.
also your right about the ch 3 for a dc; in all my work I ch 2 it makes for nicer looking ends with no space. I do like your sandals I am going to make your next. Thank you for the tutorial.

Is the yarn your using 100% cotton or a cotton blend? And what weight yarn are you using?

I'm absolutely confused. U were double wrapping the yarn at first, then u never did again...this was a very confusing vid for me. I've been crocheting since I was 12, early 50's! What did I miss? Lol. U were hard to follow. Thank u
Rhonda SavageSparks it is a confusing pattern! I have NEVER done the stitches they have said in this. Have you looked at the written pattern? It has three closed treble crochets together 😳 it's not hard, but you have to pay close attention while you're making it.
I think she got mixed up.. each set should include a treble together stitch I believe. I did mine with each petal the same. 3 doubled together, 3 triple together and 3 double again. The pattern is 404 now so I couldn't check but it looks much better that way.
The beginning of your tutorial was fine, but once you got passed making the Color 'A' round, I couldn't keep up. You went too fast, you assumed the viewer knew how to make 'together' stitches and sometimes you made stitches ahead of what you were actually saying. Also, I had to replay the video almost 15x trying to find exactly where you slip stitched Color 'B' to the beginning to finish the round. I still don't know if I did it correctly because you panned away too fast. Then as the work got larger by Color 'C', I couldn't tell where you were starting the next stitch because you didn't really hold your work out for the camera or take your time. While this should have been a simple motif, it was frustrating to do because the instructions were rushed and incohesive.
That is so true. But did you know that is just putting two stitches together? you can also just pause the feed and look it up on how to crochet two together on youtube. I am not saying this to be mean. Just in case you didn't know this.

I joined C color as a single crochet around the 2 chain spaces, chained 4 and did the 4 doubles in the ch2 space, it worked out well.
