- Before we start, apologies for all the station names I'm going to mispronounce Scotland! Hopefully showcasing this spectacular railway will make up for it.
We're at Corrour, Britain's most remote station for a night in a converted signal box with hardly anyone around for miles!

Thanks Andy, I rather enjoyed this video. I was fortunate enough to visit the signal box in the late 1980s before closure with the introduction of RETB signalling. The "storage hut" mentioned at around 4:52 was at one time the signalman's/signaller's house (there were other signalboxes of similar design on the West Highland Line e.g. Glen Douglas). When I visited BR had recently built a prefabricated concrete house for the signalman on the site where the Station House is now. The 13-level frame was upstairs with the token instruments in the room immediately below. I have pictures :-)
Did it last September for our Silver wedding. It was Geoff's venture back in 2017 that gave me the idea - thanks Geoff in all sincerity - we loved it and hope to return again one day 😃
Unintentional but ace Depeche Mode drop "Enjoy the silence" at the end there!
Definitely based on yours and Geoff's experiences, a place I'd like to go and stay at - peaceful and scenic is putting it mildly.
Brilliant place! Views and walks look amazing -
Nice to see you back Andy, looking forward to the rest of the series
Nice!
All the Corrour messages ...
Nice video, definitely on the “bucket” list
Good video Andy
Wonderful. Thanks for sharing
We had our first wedding anniversary there in 2018, magical.
Looks amazing, but given that currently about 100 yards/metres is my walking limit, I'll wait until in better health to book
We talked about this video on our Canadian covid-19 lock down zoom call today. When we are travelling again (,do not know when, but we hope soon: vaccinations permitting) this is where we are going,!
Hi Andy! We've booked a night here after seeing yours and also Geoff&Vicki's videos. When did you check in? We're due into Corrour at 9am and don't know whether to go on a walk and then come back and check in later or try and leave the bags somewhere. What do you think?
Think check in isn’t till 3pm but the staff are all lovely so I’m sure they’ll let you store your bags somewhere. They did for us after we checked out. Worth stopping for the breakfast before you set out!
great video!
Nice!
Plenty platforms up here shorter than the train. 😉
Can't wait to do this line soon but The Kyle Line is next for me. I'm just trying to work out the workings of the Class 156s. Would I be right in thinking its 3x 156 2 car units to Crianlarich. Then first set goes to Oban. Then the remaining 2 sets go to Fort William? Does it split again at Fort William and one set stay at Fort William then the other to Malaig?
Am not sure about the Fort William split. I think sometimes yes depending on time of day?
Did you find the secret boat house on Loch Ossian?
Idealic.
Is there any mobile reception there?
Richard Felstead: Creating tomorrow's history. If your lucky yes
Preferably not.
No curtains?!?
