Its actually sad. Verbally abused by her mother (the first one) made the line happier in the end. To elaborate, she wasnt like her mother to put down her daughter. It really sucks that she had to be abused (again verbally) in order to know that is not how a mother should be. She raised her kid differently (point is there should be support. Show your kids love, how to be a good parent)
honestly, this is true. Having parents that are secure in their identity and are confident as they go through life can have such a big impact on a child's psyche. Children imitate the most influential figures in their lives as they get through early childhood. It take a lot of self reflection and work to change otherwise.
