Park City hands down is one of my favorite places in this country.
Phil, first time I saw a moose I was a young boy, my family were going canoeing in Algonquin Park (Ontario) in our Westphalia down a one lane dirt road lined with trees. Came around a corner and bam... biggest moose ever in the middle of the road. We waited more than two hours for him to move. Honking the horn did nothing... we were on HIS schedule. Magnificent beasts!
I was riding a mountainbike on a gravel road in rural Maine long before gravel was a thing.
I'm rumbling down the road and this massive beast bursts out of the woods and runs down the road in front of me.
I thought "holy sh*t a horse!!!"
Then I thought "oh, a moose."
Gigantic creatures they are. 🙂
Yeah the safety bar is mostly optional, but the ones with foot rests like those are pretty awesome. I always put those down. But the general etiquette is if someone on your chair wants it down, it goes down. Not a big deal either way.

OMG you're both adorable FL/LA-city-slicker-stock. Never skied or on a lift before?! Moose are never docile or to be trusted. Don't stop that close or for that long ever again, please. ✌
If the bar has rails to put your feet up I alwasy pull it down. A few hours in ski boots will start to hurt and that bar can be a live saver.
Plus, safety's sexy.

Don’t recall how many times I’ve been in PC over the years and have never seen a moose there. So 3 in a week is crazy!
My brother and I did an MTB roadtrip in 2019 mainly out west and Park City was the only place we saw a moose and it was while mountain biking. It was quite a surprise but pretty awesome to see.
Actually laughed out loud when you guys figured out the bar on the ski lift. "I didn't even sign a waiver"

I saw a moose in the Grand Tetons of Wyoming. Hiking on a trail, the moose was sitting in the bushes. The park ranger said I was lucky to get 15 fifteen feet away without it charging. I think it was quite content at the time. I was probably down wind too.

Moose are crazy to encounter when you're on a bike. I was riding once at 5:30 in the morning doing one of my exercising routes, had just finished climbing a hill and was just starting my downhill run when I saw a "small horse" and I thought one of the local stables had a run away. Didn't think much of it was probably 20 feet away from it, but then this monster came charging out of the woods at me, I saw enough of it to know it was an adult moose and took off as fast as I could. Thankfully it was just trying to scare me off, but for the rest of the day I was just amped up on adrenalin.
Unfortunately one of the few times I did not have my GoPro with me, so a missed opportunity for some good pictures and an exciting video.

Great video as always Phil. Just picking up on the phrase you used "to boot" you must be hanging around with a couple of English guys it means "as well as" or "on top of" an old legal term.

Saw one too in Vermont while racing through that area. I never realized how tall they are, he was next to the rental car I had and he could have walked over it.
