Thank you. Simply Awesome. Any chance when you have time, to give the measurements for the ingredients ? This will certainly help newbies in making this recipe. Thank you.
Hi, thank you for your comment, so sorry as our Haha Mama does not has an exact measurement all are based on her "agak agak" which mean estimate as this recipe is based on our own taste preferences ❤ you can modify your recipe by adding even sweeter or lesser sweet.
Hi, we used toasted sesame instead of peanut, this recipe is based on your own preferences, you can either put peanut and ginger it will be great! However, my mom used to put just pure shredded coconut so you cna taste the original shredded coconut. ❤ Thanks for the sharing if you have other recipe feel free to share with us. We would like to hear you. ❤
Yes, my Malaysian friends called it 'yi bau'. Brunei Hainanese called it 'pua tong'. I went back to my village in Hainan island 文昌,also called 'pua tong'. Very good for sharing here. Here only homemade. We only have chance to eat when we have functions at Hainan Association. 😋
Hi all, my grand grand father was Chinese. I still remember this kind of coconut cake when I was young. Our Chinese community was trying to practice Chinese culture even we do not have chance to visit Hainan island. My dad always reminded us about our root, his hometown is called Wen Xing or something like that, where the hainan chicken rice was originated because chicken is fed with coconut. I need help from all of you if you can show me how to reach that village from Hainan airport. Thanks a lot you all.
@@zhenyuanhangHi, which country you are in now? The famous Hainanese chicken is at Wenchang City(文昌市). It is a big city. You need to know the name of the village of your ancestors in order to find your root. If you go to Hainan island, you can land at Haikou Meilan International airport, then go to Wenchang city by car.
Ellen Yi-Mei , I am currently in the US, we almost lost our root because my parents' generation are over 80 years old already. They told me that we still have our really old house there where our grand grand grand father was born there. I really appreciate your help about finding the right village. I need to check with my aunt what it is called then.
Gula melaka is a type of palm sugar made from the sap of flower buds from the coconut palm, or less commonly, other palms. It is our Malaysians specialty sugar. It is used to make kuih-muih (which is our variety of dessert)
Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to try the recipe.
Thank you very much. Hope to see your recipe if you are willing to share us, we are happy to know that. ❤😊
