Never been to Derry. Never been to Ireland. But this song is sung with such emotion that it is my home, too

You guys absolutely nailed back home in Derry.Because my uncle played the pipes at Bobbies funeral he was intimidated out of his job.
Another Christy Moore song that is close to my heart is viva la quinte brigade as my father's uncle is the last person mentioned on this song,Dick O'Neill from the falls

George, I'm not easily impressed son but 1 minute of the clip of the Pete St John session and I had to find out who you were.Luckily you made a comment and after figuring it out I spent the next 6 hours listening to you.You have rejuvenated my interest in music and your voice is one of a kind a porthole back in time.
This may be a tall order but is there anyway you could stand alone and belt out Northwest Passage by Stan Rogers for me I think you singing that song would be off the FN hook.
If requesting you do that is in anyway insulting I apologize.I think your voice and that song would knock em dead.
    I'll keep watchin and listening.

Sounds a lot like The Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot.

Christy Moore took the melody of that song as well as the words of Bobby Sands and married the 2 to come up with this!!
