    And of coarse the Milwaukee rep didn't push the fitting into the pipe deep enough. Too funny. He didn't hit the big stops. Lol

    I was told the expansion fittings are only good for PROPEX Can you use the expansion system on the regular PEX tubing?????

    • @Toolbarn

      This expander is designed for Uponor fittings.

    • @cyoungso
      @cyoungso 6 лет назад +2

      Expansion is only used on PEX-A. You can use compression fittings on both A and B

    Can you use the Milwaukee PVC cutter for PEX

    Pex is easier to install cheaper and people don’t wanna break into the house and steel it

    Never used it like that I buy the clamps and elbows and pex clamp tool

    That Wirsbo type pex shyte that relies on "memory" no longer gets used in Australia with no major suppliers carrying fittings, pipe or tools.
    A Company I worked for used it on the inwall hot and cold water supply in Sydneys Bennalong apartments (right next the the Sydney Opera House) the most expensive per square meter apartments in Australia and after only a few years water leaks became so common, mostly on the hot water, that the decision was made to completely replace all the in wall pipework! at enormous hassle and cost.
    Personally I reckon the only cross linked polyethylene system that should be allowed is Rehau style slide fittings/joints.
    The varitey of different, non compatible, non interchangeable pex systems is a fking disgrace.
    We once had uniform plumbing materials standards in Australia and if manafactures didn't want to comply then they could be fked off out of our market.
    I can buy a 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm copper fitting etc from any plumbing supplier and use it on a pipe that was installed 50 fking years ago and sold as half inch, 3/4, inch, inch, 1 1/4 etc
    Same goes for PVC and gal pipe and fittings.
    Why the step backwards?
    The only reason is fking marketing ones with suppliers trying to "lock in" their plumbing contractors to their exclusive product.
    How the hell have PEX manafactures and suppliers gotten away with this clear step backwards, not having to comply with a single standard.
    Dont even get me started on the even more ridiculous heating iron/fusion plastic piping systems!

    Can it be used for rehau?

    • @Toolbarn
      @Toolbarn  8 лет назад +1

      +Boobdepot1977 The Pex Expander is designed specifically to work with Uponor pex tubing - So I would stick to that brand.

    • @Boobdepot1977
      @Boobdepot1977 8 лет назад +1

      +Toolbarn Sure, but Uponor isn't available in Australia, generally Rehau and its licensed offshoot and another compression fitting brand called Auspex that uses similar dimension pipe are the norm. With no automated expansion tools readily available Milwaukee would make a killing here if Rehau heads could interchange. I'm a fan of the M12 system, I now use these tools daily.

    • @Toolbarn
      @Toolbarn  8 лет назад +1

      Boobdepot1977 We'll just have to wait and see what Milwaukee will do. I'm sure they realize there is a market down there.

    The cost of the expansion tool is way out of line for what it accomplishes. The pex industry is quite a sham, but the results are good.

    Pex allows the installer to rush and be sloppy dont see to many pex jobs that look good

    • @kswaynes7569
      @kswaynes7569 6 лет назад +3

      In Alaskan prices, a plumber could cost you $135.00 per hour! 90% of the plumbing in a home is hidden, so a beautiful copper job is only seen by the remodeler or the drywall hanger or by someone in a crawlspace. A conscientious plumber will do a nice job of fastening the PEX and trying to be neat. Remember beauty is in the eye of who is paying for the job, not the casual observer!

      you can try non-power tool, those are cheaper.
      but even power tools are not that expensive. you can buy Dewalt expander for around $200, if you already own battery and chargers.

    Neat tool, I did note that he dodged the question about price. There's nothing more annoying to me than factory reps circling around/not listing the price of their tools. If you have a good product, it works and is durable, and are charging a fair price, no need to be shy. Anybody who's savvy enough to be doing work on their own/in business will recognize whether the asking price and logic behind it is sound and will be worth it.

    • @Toolbarn
      @Toolbarn  6 лет назад

      Who asked what the price was? We have the link to the tool provided in the description.

      I believe the interviewer did, at 2:43 in the vid. "Overall, what's the dollar proposition, for the job? .... Because you do have to buy some tools." Someone asks me that question when discussing a bid or T&M job I'm proposing, I would feel obligated to give them at least a ballpark figure. If I'm told something will pay for itself in one job, I'd want to hear how that figure was arrived at, just to see. I've been shown the features and benefits. Thanks for the reply, nice to know someone's reading the comments queue ~

      Either way, you won't see us talking about price in videos, as it can change. But we provide links to the products in the descriptions.

    Copper is a thing of the past for potable water they don't make copper like they used to. Upenor pex all the way an copper is way to expensive compare to the black polymer fittings witch are just as strong as copper an they don't wear tru with hi flow as copper or brass does. Tjanks

      copper is still code in most commercial applications since pex is not fire rated.

      Daniel Llamas All plumbing in commercial buildings, such as banks, schools, jails, gas stations, grocery stores, etc use pex with this system. All those projects dwarf your "million dollar home" the whole new US Bank Stadium is plumbed with pex. On top of the fact that commercial buildings come with a much longer warranty, sometimes in upwards of 30 years with the stadium I just mentioned. I've seen this first hand and every plumber and pipe fitter I've ever met loves the stuff.
