@@NathanDrennan The Adjective Nouns' find a sense of finality with its use as they often have many thanks and prayers to the Emperor in which they call out in battle.
I recently started Warhammer and wanted to play IG Unfortunately I got Space marines for my birthday. So, not wanting to waste the space marine kits I decided to make the Revenants of Cadia Their paint job is pretty much the Cadian green camouflage. I did a bit of Kitbashing to attach Lasguns to their backs. Basically, they are the remnants of the Space Marines who went to aid the Cadians when the thirteenth crusade began. Unfortunately they did not get off of Cadia in time to be evacuated following the Imperium's defeat. They spent the following months fighting their way across the planet to find some sort of ship to escape. Eventually they did, but in honor of both the brave Cadians who died to protect their world and the squad of Cadians who held off the forces of chaos whilst the Space marines escaped they shrugged off their old colors from their old chapter and adopted the Cadian one. Their Chapter Master is known as the Amnesiac He lost his memory of who he was when a rhino exploded. The blast knocked him backwards and he hit the back of his head on a wall. Feel free to tell me how I've broken the lore. Just don't hate on me too much
I'd only ask how an amnesiac would be a chapter master. Was he master all along? Why don't people just remind who he was? Did he start climbing the corporate ladder (so to speak) after he was promoted for his efforts on cadia? If so how did he come to be chapter master? Other than that I REALLY love the idea of space marines that are actually impressed by the poor guardies.
@@reginlief1 you can be an amnesiac and lose the personality of your memories, to some extent. CM could have lost his personality but kept tactic memories, or vise versa. The mind is weird that way. Doubly so for Space Marines
It's from Forgeworld, and unless they changed in Quality since i painted mine, all their vehicles drive you up the Wall because they got Gaps all over the damn place. Admittedly it's not as bad as their Flyers, like the infamous "Firegap-Gunship" which got gaps big enough for Passengers to fire out off :P
My chapter is the Wyld Guard. They are a Light Green with Light blue and White accents, and are based on a Celtic background. They play on the table as Black Templars but also have cavalry (Stag Riders, which turned out really cool. Basically Thunderwolf Cavalry [8th edition allows you to do this!!! woohoo!!!!]) and are fine with Psykers (Librarians are called Druids). Its a cool theme and I love them!
Bro, i thought about the same thing! Only the names and colors differ… Mine are specialists in artillery barrages and nukes, and are called “The last Warlords” They are green, white and a bit of blue on the tatoos They have a feral homeworld
My Chapter is called "Mercury Trident" one of Loyalist Chapter & they was a "Fleed Base Chapter" The Chapter master called "The High Trident" is Orcarius Sulla , The Chief Librarian was Matarys Khonsu, Master of the Forge was Pollux Nova & The Master of the Apothecary was Ky'rios Dimetrikos. Chapter Colour : Platinum-Silver with Aqua Marine/Green/Purple/Gold trim & skull , Red Eyes on visor.
Right now, converting a Chaplain for my vaguely M*A*S*H themed Chapter, who goes into battle with a power swizzle stick and wearing a Hawaiian cape. That's going to be a bitch to paint.
I am currently trying to flesh out a custom chapter with the working title "The Lost Phalanx". I am half Greek and I wanted something relating to my herritage, so I thought of Xenophon's Ten Thousand. Now please be kind, because I am effectively just starting with 40k although a long time wargamer (historical). Essentially during a large battle (not sure which one yet) a whole bunch of space marines from different chapters where catapulted, perhaps through a warp storm (again not certain), across the known universe many many years ago. Being left stranded effectively they did all they could to return to the heart of the imperium, which they did after immense effort, loss and tribulations. In that time they grew together as a team and created a brotherly bond beyond their effective genes. Returning at the time of the ultima founding, they requested to remain united and form their own chapter, instead of returning to their old ones. Due to the dire current situation but also because their feats and ordeals impressed the imperial agents, their wish was granted. Their colour scheme is mainly black to signify the absence of armour colour; they've shed their former chapter insignia to become something new. It also signifies their constant mourning of their lost brothers in arms. Phalanx is in their name, because they were approximately 250 marines that managed to return, the same number as a typical phalanx of old Terra. Heraldry is something that still keeps me thinking. I am inclined to use the fleur de lis, like the Red Templars, because the fleur is in the heraldry of my home town. So not really a fluff reason, but rather a personal one. Perhaps you guys can help me flesh the fluff out. Feel free to tear my idea apart, but I'd be happy to get some constructive criticism.
Demetrios B Sounds really cool man :D Just a thought: since you said the marines were all from different chapters, why not use a chain as heraldry to represent the unbreakable bond of the battle brothers?
for my chaos marines chapter i play my "angels of pestilence" they are dark angels that fell to nurgle when the dark angels homeworld was destroyed and they have been "blessed" with what i call nurgles caress. the marines have long maggots growing out of their bodies and packs some are so corrupted by the worms that some limbs have been completely replaced by long segmented worm legs and arms. and my custom demon prince is named "lord of worms" and he carries a large plague canister filled with the worms so he can spread "nurgles caress" . instead of having a demon face it has a set of rusted skulls with a long bladed tongue whipping out of the far left skull.
I feel as though you are speaking of a different chapter as we all know that the dark angels have never fallen and have always been completely loyal to the emperor.
there is the fallen who became renegade and went into hiding and the dark angels hunt them down wherever they pop up, however cypher is carrying the sword of lion el johnson to the seat of the emperor so he can lay claim that the fallen are still loyal. and absolve them of any crime. mine specifically pledged themselves to nurgle to escape death. my marines use black tan armor with nurgles mark and the worms or in special cases "hq" they use black gold, silver and tan along with the sickly green/blue worm. the demon prince is black tan with pale pink and purple worms.
you obviously completely missed the joke, he knew about the Fallen, he was making fun of how the Dark Angels basically hunt down and kill anyone who isn't a upper echelon Dark Angel that finds out about them.
I made my own Tytanid Hive Fleet (Hive Fleet Rezkleet) in a similar way, and now my brother is using this exact technique with his Tau/Necrons, even to the point where he's intertwining it with my Tyranids, as his Tau Commander has a sole purpose of wiping out Hive Fleet Rezkleet after a bad experience with them, and his Necrons aren't actually Necrons, but just robots the Tau Commander (yet to be named) has had created because he doesn't want loses as grave as what gave him his hatred of the Hive Fleet and had them designed after the Necrons as he always admired especially their marksmanship. I must say, creating lore in 40k is always great fun
one of my favorite things about 40k is taking something and making it mine. My chapter is the "Black Mantis" Their color scheme is lighter green and black, their pregenors are the ultramarines they like the codex but dont follow it strictly. they specialize in being adaptable and very well coordinated, and have contingency plans for most situations. They also love chainscythes. chapter master is Mikeal Rex scouts earn the rank of marine by diving into the deepest and darkest of hive cities and returning with dead mutants and heretics. the chapter was nearly decimated but are being reinforced with new primaris marines which i am actually painting myself!
How would you get chainscythes though. That seems like it would be hard to make and the only scythes you can buy are powerscythes. Very cool idea though.
Never thought of that, good idea. There are also chainglaives from forgeworld that you could use the blades of, although you would have to cut off the handles.
My own chaper, would love feed back. 3rd founding successor chapter of the blood Angels. Current Name: Rage Bare'rs Former name: blood bare'rs Chapter status: thought to be rogue/traitor whilst actually being loyalist. (read on to find out why) Chapter master: Kazerdon Style of fighting/doctrine: heavily melee focused, little heavy weapons and barely any vehicles. War cry: "blood for the emperor" but mostly incoherent screams and snarls Stroy so far. 3rd founding chapter of the blood Angels. They carry over a mutated version of the black rage which in turn makes them constantly enraged and bloodthirsty. It has also given them greatly increased strength compared to other chapters and has also increased they're muscle mass and overall size. After a particular incidnece in which they came to the aid of a guard force under attack. After defeating the attackers they turned on the guards in a blind rage and lust for blood and killed the survivors. After reports of this happening reached the imperium a few members of the chapter was sent for physical, mental and biological tests. Which revealed the cause of the problems, the mutated black rage gene. Upon this discovery the whole chapter was to be exterminated without they're knowing. Hearing about the recent events and the plan to whipe out a successor chapter of the blood Angels. The blood Angels chapter master Dante requested an audience with the chapter master of the then blood bare'rs. Kazerdon. Feeling pitty for his gene brothers, he told the chapter master of the plan. Knowing there isn't anything he can do to prevent this. Dante gave the chapter master a task, a misson. One that will aid the imperium and keep the the blood bare'rs away from those who wish to hunt and exterminate them. The misson. To wage war on any and all enemy's of the imperium. An eternal crusade for those with an eternal rage. Before the chapter departs Dante gives them any equipment he can spare and wishes them well. As he knows the black rage, a thing only a blood Angel can feel. Before leaving he thanks Kazerdon for understanding and assure him what his chapter is undertaking is a great deed to the imperium. As a gift Dante gives Kazerdon a thunder hammer. Blood Breaker. Skip forward a few decades too the battle for Baal. Hive fleet leviathan is only days away from arriving and preparations are being made in Baals defence. Dante sent out a distress call to any and all successor chapters of the blood Angels that there home planet is in grave danger and that any and all help is needed. As more and more successor chapters start to appear in the system a strange lone ship appears. The ship appears to be badly damaged and bares similar markings to that of a Chaos ship, just as the other ships are about to open fire on the supposed traitor Chaos ship. Dante orders for them not to shoot. On closer inspection Dante was able to make out the insignia of an old successor chapter who went rouge and was thought to have fallen to chaos. A transmission came through "permission to make plant fall." The blood bare'rs had returned from there crusade in they're founding chapters time of need. Even tho to the wider chapters and the imperium they we're declared heretics and rogues, enemy's of the imperium. All along they we're indirectly aiding them by pillaging and destroying Xeno and Chaos worlds. It was made much more apparent of how they had change from they're former selves and other chapters, once the landing craft doors opened and behemoths of a men walked out. You would be hard pressed to say by sight alone that these weren't traitor marines. They're armour twisted, damaged, parts missing. Covered in skulls, skins and hides of slane enemy's. They're hulking size constant maddening twitches. It was clear to see that these were no longer normal marines but the rage and mutations had consumed them. But none the less even while chaos tempted them they stayed true to the emperor. They were no longer the blood bare'rs, they had bled all they're blood long ago. They were bare'rs only to rage and hate now, hate for the enemy's of the imperium and an unending rage and bloodlust for all those who threaten its existence. The men in Dantes guard, bolters raised. Questioning his sanity as to why he is approaching these brutes. Dante stands and looks up at this culmination of muscle and armour. Skulls and and skins adorning his armour. Two thunder hammers hit the floor with tremendous force as the giant bends to one knee. "Kazerdon, it is good to see your still alive." "How many men did you bring" Dante remarks. "200." "Thats all we have left." Kazerdon replies In the ensuing battle as we obviously know millions died. The rage bare'rs flag ship the Eternal Rage was fitted and packed with nuclear weapons and explosive ordinances. By order of Kazerdon as the chances of any of the 200 surviving the battle was very slim. It was driven in a suicide attack by captain Hengval, who was being kept alive by a built in life support system abord the ships bridge. into one of the many hive ships as Baal was being attacked After the battle only 23 rage bare'rs survived. Kazerdon whilst being wounded, survived and claimed many trophies in the god emperors name. Hope you enjoyed. I took a while to type all this out so feed back would be appreciated and anything you'd like to add to the story/chapter feel free. Thanks :)
War cry: "blood for the emperor" but mostly incoherent screams and snarls LOVE IT! The detailed history for this chapter is fantastic! I love the idea of a loyalist chapter with the appearance of chaos marines.
@@larrymanns364 thank you very much I really appreciate the feed back! I'm thinking of continuing they're story. Let me know if that sounds interesting and if you'd like to find out more.
Coming back to this video two years later. Decided to make an all primaris chapter called The Varyags. A fleet based chapter that raid xenos worlds, burning and pillaging. Flagship is Jormungandr. Insignia is a sea serpent with a lightning bolt. It's debatable whether they're made from the geneseed of the Wolf King or the Khan.
My Space Marine chapter is called, The Howling Fangs.(WIP name) They are successors of the White Scars. They live on a desert planet named , Atreides. It’s inhabited by gigantic maroon-furred bears that the space marines have tamed and use in war. (Kind of like the wolves ridden by the space wolves) They prefer to get up and personal when fighting and don’t really stay too close to the codex. Colours are grey and dark red.
My chapter is the Sons of Samhain. They are based off of the villain from the old ghostbusters cartoon from the 80's. They come complete with pumpkin heads and skull heads too. They were known as the 7th Dawn before becoming obsessed with Samhain after discovering an ancient STC on a world in the ghoul stars. It turned out to be an STC for a VCR and the entire ghostbusters cartoon on VHS. How they built the VCR and tape is lost to the warp and we will never know. But after the chapter stopped a campaign against necrons, to watch the entire series, Samhain became their new God and they were calling themselves the Sons of Samhain. Their holy mission now is to bring All Hallows' eve to the Imperium. Everyone will enjoy Halloween. Humanity will trick or treat.... So says the chapter master Erie Von. They are no friends of Chaos either. They've no time for ones who give praise to gods beneath the master of pumpkins . There are none more powerful the the Pumpkin Lord. As such anytime they have decimated any chaos army they make sure to spray paint jack -o- lanterns over any chaos sigils they come across. They have been known to desecrate chaos shrine to mock said God of chaos. Once replacing a tower of a million skulls to Khorne with a tower of candy apples and razor blades topped with a flaming jack-o-lantern that sang out an ancient gloomy tune titled "Halloween" from some old and forgotten dark age of misfits. They love candy apples and razor blades. They use them as grenades. Some say their bolters fire actual tiny flaming pumpkin heads that maniacally laugh as they zip through the air. Ya that's right....tiny laughing pumpkin heads that laugh at you, as you realize the true power and magnificence that is Samhain. 138. M42 will see the rise of Samhain....

I don't even play Warhammer on TT, mainly lack of money and being shit at painting, but I create a chapter or two just because I really liked a color scheme I made in DoW... so I guess I am the wannabe here.
Doesn't matter, its a gateway. I myself only started painting last year, whilst I was reaching lore for almost 6 years. Also Painting is a skill that you can learn. Really hope that someday you start the plastic crack
Tenesfer i am new and cant paint but i would like to make a almost splinter faction made up of ex space marines so yeah , thank god for having freinds how can paint
My chapter is called "The Scions of No One". They are a collective of renegade (not chaos) space marines from various chapters. They get their ranks from OTHER chapters. This also kind of explains how I keep getting new models haha! They are not openly opposed to the Imperium but they are in no way part of it. The chapter master(or commander because they don't really organize themselves like other chapters) is Orion. He used to belong to another chapter as a tactical marine. He and his brothers were fighting a losing battle. But their commander ordered them to keep fighting for "honour" and the emperor. Orion, along with a handful of other marines, simply left. They jumped a cruiser and decided to head out on their own, seeing service to the emperor as broken and futile. Those marines became the first part of my army.
Great vid Kirioth, to this day i find it funny how many people just have an army of ultrasmurfs or another first founding chapter when making up your own is so fun and interesting.
My personal idea were "The Watchers in the Dark" They were the originally the 6th company of the Night Lords but when Konrad Curze realised that he had become the thing he hated the most, he ordered their captain to leave Tsalguasa with his company and attempt to atone for their crimes. They are not loyal to the Emperor but instead fight for humanity as a whole, operating around the area of the Screaming Vortex.

I found your channel through Adeptus Ridiculous, and just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you put into this. You inspired me to take my standard Blood Angels force and re-imagine them as a custom chapter with their own color scheme. Keep up the good work, man! It helps a lot

*Forge Guard* Successor chapter of the Salamanders. Founding unknow, since that data is lost for the Salamanders. Celtic-style iconography; converted with bits from Space Wolves and _Warhammer Fantasy Dwarves._ The chapter symbol is a winged hammer. Green armor with blue arms, pauldrons and lower legs, bronze ornaments. Devastators have red pauldron trims. Assault Marines have red helmet crests or mowhawks. Veterans have bronze arms and lower legs, and more ornaments in silver, gold and gemstones. Terminators have customized helmets, showing the stylized faces of their wearers. Cultural focus on craftsmanship, tradition and history. Recruit from mining worlds, especially ones where miners constantly fight against cave-dwelling xeno beasts. Have a sort of spiritual connection to minerals and hold powerful machines in very high regards. Always eager to aid Explorators and Technoarcheologists on their quests, if only to make sure the knowledge and artifacts they seek won't be lost. Believe that technology equals power, but it must be used for a good cause to have any desirable effects, which is where their interests sometimes conflict with their allies'. Alignment: Lawful Good. Respect the Codex Astartes for its strategical and historical value, but always put their own traditions and doctrins first. Have innitially been more welcomming towards the Primaris Marines' advanced gear then of the Primaris themselves, but wouldn't disrespect any who prove themselves as skilled and brave warriors. Experts for battling in uneven terrain and small spaces, such as in ruins, bunkers, spaceships, sewers, tunnels and caves, but will also use heavily armed vehicles, artillery units, and assault squads using transports rather than jump packs if possible. Prefered weapons: Flamers, Meltas and Missile Launchers at range, Power Axes and Thunder Hammers in melee. Their signature weapon is called a Grindhammer, which has a pneumatic hammer head on one side and a power drill on the other. Where Power Lances are used, their heads also tend to be drill-shaped. Prefered vehicles: Ironclad Dreadnaught, Razorback, Vindicator and Whirlwind. Have a bit of an aversion for full-on aerial combat, due to having spent their former lives mostly underground, but still use Land Speeders for their quickly repositionable firepower. Have an above-average supply of rare wargear such as Centurion armor, Thunderfire Cannons, Conversion Beamers and even an experimental Predator variant (with a Razorback turret - safer for the gunner), as well as more Tech-Marines, due to their alliances with the Adeptus Mechanicus.
RokuroCarisu TBQH It sounds like it would make more sense being a Iron Hands successor than a Salamanders successor, with all that Ad Mech alignment and vehicles & shit.
+Teacherino For Kripperinos Kripperino That wouldn't match with the Dwarven bits I used. Iron Hands are all about practicality, but Salamanders consider weapon crafting an art form.
My Sisters army will be Purple/Gold/White. haha! Ive named them "The Cult of Celestine." They are all women who have either been directly saved or have had a religious experience with Celestine. (some may or may not have hallucinated them, not the point) They are ultimately loyal to the Emperor, but only because as far as they know Celestine is loyal to him. She is the one they truly worship. Which makes them very suspicious to the rest of the Imperium, especially other sister chapters. Because of this they adopt many of the more undesirables. Thinking of allowing men into the ranks but only as non combatants looking for redemption.
designing a chapter after the Desert Rats of WWII, armed transports, heavy metal, Dreadnoughts. it is a fun undertaking to go back and read the real story of the Desert Rats and then research what parallel's in the 40K Universe.
If you are talking about the Afrika campaign then they were called the Rats of Tobruk and they were Australians. My great grandfather was a Rat and I think the story is really cool. Cheers
Came across this old video because, yes, I'm putting together my own primaris chapter as GW seem intent on consigning firstborn to legends. Luckily I'm also into old hammer so my Doom Eagles shall not likewise be consigned to a dusty shelf. Some great advice there, especially on personalising the paint scheme. I'm definitely using the one arm a different colour idea. BTW about the Tau referring to the chapter master of the Skull Lords as a "Warrior King", I recently picked up on the fact that the chapter master of the Emperor's Spears is referred to as "high king" so you are definitely right there.
About two decades back I converted and painted an entire army for a guy in colors based off the Miami Dolphins. They were the Aqua Marines (an Ultra Marine splinter-group that apparently discovered green) with armor converted to serve primarily in underwater fighting. Beaky helms, tanks on their back packs, and lots of tubing everywhere. Led by their Chapter Master Francis "The Don" Shulia And the Captain Daniel Marinos. Was fun-ish.
I love that you explain this to people because some new players seem to not grasp the vastness of the 40K universe and the unending custom ability and creativity you can put into building your army. I did the same kind of thing with my Imperial Guard Army making them a somewhat Rogue battalion seeking to control their own planet or star system and create a sovereign Planet out of the control of the emperor.
Painted an army for a friend. The Aqua Marines, a subchapter of Ultramarines. Chapter Master Daniel Marinos. Added tubing and such to the models, converted bolters to spearguns. The whole unit was "Underwater specialized" and could move in, through, and under water without movement restrictions. They fought in units of 11. Aqua, orange, and white color scheme. He had a blast with them.
The Repenters A renegade chapter of Space marines who are made up entirely of Former traitor Marines, who became disillusioned with Chaos and abandoned their legions, seeking redemption. They're Chapter Master was a former Dark Apostle of the Word Bearers known as "Shepherd Septimus", who started the Chapter after he and a group of other disillusioned word bearer space marines rebelled against the chapter, and fought to free themselves and regain their souls. They have taken in members from all sorts of traitor legions, (Black Legion, Iron Warriors, Red Corsairs, Night Lords, Alpha Legion and Word Bearers are the most common).
My chapter are the Imperial Stars. Their colours are primarily purple with gold and white. They purportedly date back to the second founding and are successors of the Ultramarines but most of the details of their history has been lost to time. They are known to show extreme pride in their colours to the point of vanity. They recently suffered horrendous losses when their home world was attacked by the forces of Chaos, only surviving as they did due to the interruption of Guilliman and his Indomitus Crusade. Following this their survivers were low enough to fit in a single company, forming the new first company as the chapter was bolstered back to at least a working strength with an injection of new Primaris Marines. Their Chapter Master, Lazarus, also fell during the battles on their home world against the Chaos forces. However, whilst severely and irreparably wounded, he was too stubborn to die, and now leads the chapter from his place within a Contemptor Dreadnought.
One of my chapters is a white scars successor known as the “void whalers”. There shtick is that they come from a water world and primarily use the hover vehicles to get around. One of there main infantry units are reavers who work as boarding infantry for enemy vehicles. One past time that they enjoy is hunting and killing what there chapter is named after, the void whales. What I did to start this chapter is I made a kill team of reavers. I am very proud of the kill team leader: bosun Titus McFlin, who has an ork nobs harpoon arm in place of most of his own arm, the backstory being that, during a fight with a void whale a remora bit it off.
Future custom chapter: Name: wastelords Attack style and stuff: they overwhelm their enemies with gigantic force of infantry backed up with air force Stuff: founders of the thousand suns Background: after the thousand sons joined Horus in Horus heresy, many rebelled and escaped and formed the wastelords and joined the forces of the emperor. Primarch: unknown Color scheme: brass and silver with accents of green
I made a chapter known as the Shinigami, they are grey with black trims and red helmets, the only exception being the chapter master whose helmet is golden. They use ambush tactics primarily and they play as ultramarines
I'd say the best place to start is look for inspiration of something you want for you're chapter. Could be a symbol, a slogan, tactic, color, name, study, literally anything. With an anchoring point, just build around that inspiration and you don't have to have you're army fleshed out all at once, they can grow and change.
The Scar Lords were touched on in greater detail in the Farsight Crisis of Faith Novel, they would never heal their scars unless it actually impeded their ability to fight such as missing a limb. Their new chapter master in the book was missing a part of his lip/cheek and became very angry when someone brought up the idea of healing it. So basically they were euper proud of their scars
I made my own chapter I think about a year ago now, when ever burning of Prospero came out, they are called the storm marines. I'm a huge history buff and I was really into learning about WWI at the time, so I made a space marines chapter based off of the German army. They are children of Dorn, they like their trenches and bunkers, but the wider imperium doubt their purity because they are known to use chemical warfare quite extensively. The reason I made them when the burning of Prospero came out was because I absolutely love the MK III power armor even though it's supposed to be extremely rare in 40k, but I still built almost the entire army in MK III because I figured out a good way to incorporate into the lore of the chapter. The story goes that a space hulk appeared in the space above the chapters homeworld, obviously seeing this as a threat, the entire chapter went in and cleared it out of the genestealer menace. Within this space hulk was an imperial fist ship from the great crusade which was absolutely filled to the brim with MK III power armor. As the chapter favors trench warfare, the use for the MK III power armor was very clear. So they took out all the ancient treasures from this space hulk, then scrapped it for parts. I think it took me 3 days to make all the lore for the chapter, because I tried to make very extensive, but right now I'm trying to decide how to incorporate the primaris marines into the army.
The Golden Saints: a splinter chapter, their parents being the Black Templars. They are fleet based, and are dedicated towards two goals: Build their own legion, and taking over the Ecclisiarchy because normal humans are incapable of handling that kind of power. They have a focus on armoured warfare (they like centurions, terminators and tanks) because they like not having their brothers die. They also work well with other imperial factions, particularly the Sororitas and the Guard. They splintered directly after the Age of Apostasy, which had taught them about the nature of humans in power.
Chapter name: The siege lords Chapter-master: Ares Color scheme: black gold and yellow Founding: ultima Successors of: iron warriors Tactics: siege, assault, and fortify.
I recently returned to the hobby for the third (but this time with my own wallet) spent way too much money on Primaris Mairnes, and your videos are helping me to stay inspired while I build and paint my custom chapter (I use to collect Crimson Fists back in the day). I am making a chapter who are Legion of the damned fanatics, not damned themselves but are in pursuit of the study and uncovering the secrets around these Marines. As a result other chapters look at them with concern, and question their loyalty to the Emperor, but none the less still trust them in combat. Fluff wise and to add to why other chapters kind of tolerate them, I'll probably add that the damned seem to appear more around these guys due to their beliefs and the rest I'll come up with in time. They believe also their greatest honour is to die bravely in combat hoping the god emperor, or whatever powers may be, will allow these Marines to come back as damned themselves. Working names I have so far "Cult of the damned", "Sons of the legion (or damned)", "Followers of the Damned", If you see this comment be good to get your input.
The ‘Thunder Wolves,’ a specialist anti-psyker chapter. Children of Dorn. They’re white with black shoulder pads and do not use rank identification (it’s under the base). They use jump packs, unusual numbers of terminators, lascannons and plasma weapons. They’ll typically show up out of nowhere, coming down in thunderhawks, annihilate the enemy commanders, then vanish completely from the system. The inquisition always shows up afterwards. ‘Course, they don’t see themselves as heretics. They aren’t the ones who build their equipment.
My chapter are called the Shadow Dragons. They are a successor chapter that specialize in covert and rescue missions and are created from gene-seed derived from both the Salamanders and the Raven Guard. Their colour scheme is black, green, gold and red.
I'm so glad you mentioned renegade chapters, I'm trying to make a successor chapter of the relictors who were kicked out so this vid hit the nail on the head for me
I made my chapter around a stupid idea: A clerical error. This primaris chapter has mixed lineages (like the mixed combat squads that were used in the Indomitus Crusade). "Officially" to everyone outside of the chapter they are of Guilliman stock. Unofficially the High Lords, Cawl, Guilleman and the marines themselves know that they have a lot of Ultramarines sure, but also Dark Angels brothers, some White Scars, and maybe some Iron Hands in the mix. They got lost in the warp while crusading and got flung to a far corner of the galaxy. So they got told "Hey uh, we will totally go pick you up and assign you to your proper chapters one day but uh we're busy right now. Here's a Mentor Lieutenant with your new orders. Congrats you're a chapter now." They were told they are an experimental chapter tasked with conquering their little corner, and to study the further relations of mixed-lineage companies. The sad truth is they are the kids forgotten by the school bus.
My home brew chapter is called the Void Reavers. They’re a renegade Raven Guard successors, who we’re made renegade by the AdMech for owning a functional STC. Their current chapter master is Oborron, a loyalist night lord who was put into cryo stasis by Curze, as he saw Oborron battle against his own brothers in the future. Their paint scheme is white, light blue and purple. I just need a chaos lord to make Oborron look like how I imagined him. Oh and they have primaris units as well.
I did my own chapter called Astral phantoms, veteran company had Dark Angel hooded models. Colour scheme was magenta & goblin Green well a real pale version of it. One pad was midnight blue which had the chapter Icon on. I used to love the old chapter traits.
Howdy Kiri, big fan of your work, this video convinced me to go ahead and create my Raven Guard Successors. The Talons of Corax: a strategic assault chapter, their heraldry consists of Black, Purple and Gray armor. Their symbol is a skull clutched in a Raven’s talons, they use Jump Packs as a mark of status, in battle they have an affinity for Melta weaponry and close combat. Still working out the juicy details on the lore but I wanted to thank you for giving me the little push I needed to bring my chapter to life. Keep up the good work and I hope Father Nurgle turns his eye away from you soon.
I really love the design of your chapter so this is a formal acknowledgement of the inspiration but i have now nicked it changed the red to purple and changed their name. Love your videos Kirioth.
My DIY was Iron Hands successors that doubled down on mechanicus love by hanging with slightly heretekal explorators. Intentionally ironic as they started out with a purge and crusade centered on the moirae schism. This led to a robustly armed serfdom that rationalized integrating a Knight house. All of these things that prompted inquisitorial alarm. All of this predates the story advances in recent years of course.
I'm currently building and painting a Primaris Colonial Marine army :) obviously a drab olive green with obligatory skulls and squad numbers with a infantry core with a focus on firepower and equipment. it's really fun! like you said, I too would recommend it to add another level of hobby enjoyment.
Angels of Iron, silver with gold trim and blue left shoulder pad, sergeants have gold helms. They are descended form the Ultramarines and follow the codex well, just not as rigorous as the Ultramarines. A few characters are, Chapter master Ulysses Gelt, High Reclusiarch Agamemnon, Chief Librarian Odysseus. They operate out of the Epirus system and are one of the only space marine chapters that still sends regiments from the chapter hive world of Epirus Prime to the Imperial Guard. The imperial Guard regiments are often known as the Epirus Iron born and work in many war-zones with the Angels of Iron. In the system is also a small forge world, agri/knight world and a tomb world.(Yes I have a Guard, Admech, Knight and Space marine army)
My chapter is The Repentant Sons of Los. They are a loyalist Word Bearers chapter. Los is the opposer to the Urizen from Robert Blake's The Urizen. They use the preheresy Word Bearers colour scheme of light grey with black shoulder pads. I have to agree that a complete backstory and combat strategy makes playing so much more enjoyable.
I created the Sons of Cerberus. A space marine chapter formed mostly the last surviving members of the Luna Wolves who remain loyal to the emperor. Named after a grey knight who was named Cerberus. Another unique thing about them is that they have... Three chapter masters, one for each head.
The left hand is the hand of punishment or vengeance, hence, a deep red left arm indicates that they are executioners of the throne's justice on traitors.
Also mate possible name suggestion: "Iron Judges/Judicators" The "iron" part of the name for the iron warriors influence and then i just thought that judges would sound interesting for some kind of name that represents their purpose for hunting traitors. Also something like iron "hunters" is a bit too obvious or cliche.
That's a cool name for the chapter! Has a good ring to it, sounds solid. if part of the chapter's character is that its marines are highly loyal to the Emperor or just take the justifications for their work very seriously, maybe the Emperor's Retribution would be a good one as well.
That sounds pretty cool, I'm thinking about having my own custom chapter and I was actually thinking about having judges in the name, since I'm a bit fan of Judge Dredd, and since Judge Dredd reminds me of Arbites, it all comes full circle.
I like darker green. Standard guardsmen are lighter green. Meet the Imperial guardsmen from novagrad, where casualties are acceptable if you win! Also we're darker green.
This really applies to all sorts of armies, i run a renegade guard group that uses mainly corsairs, and i used a process similar to this for brainstorming. Although i have gone through 3 or 4 names at this point, but the force still uses the same list lol.
The Silent Choir, created from the gene-seed of one of the lost chapters of the Abyssal Crusade, they guard planets on the rim of The Screaming Vortex, acting as an additional defense against both Daemonic incursion and Rak’gol invasion.
Bravo !!! I Had done something similar with my Rogue Company of Blood Angels. I Loved Customizing Thier Armor with xtra parts from the kits, so fallen comrades pcs of armor, say crests and fancy armor plates, were awarded for valor. Made for an Awsome Looking Company. I called them a Rogue Company That had fought beside the Ultra Marines Crusade against th Tyranids Long ago. The Company was known for appearing at " Last Stands" of isolated elements of Marine Chapters units...... And " Saving the day " with mass multi - Marine platoons charging with Large Gunlines backed by all matter of Hvy Wpns Marines ......." Then retiring Back to the unknown stars systems from wense they came. Was always Fun. Later health issues and bills forced me to part with them.......my hands no longer able to assemble or paint, n my head no longer able to " Crunch th numbers "in a game 😂(lol) i have started attempts at builing th armor kits. I enjoy your site and many others On Marines. Keep up the good work 😁👍 ✊😠
You don't even have to have a chapter that is descended from another. You could always use the 2nd and 11th legions as the basis of your first founding chapter since their records have been lost. This way you could add even more stuff like creating the primarch and fitting them into events of the Horus Heresy. There's so many possibilities when it comes to lore.
I am just starting an Iron Warriors army and although an existing Chaos force I have sat down with this sort of plan to make it my own. I decided they lost most of the fleet, so machine shops and med bays are gone. So only the most favoured of the Lord's warriors have bionics and other marines have started to mutate. Thought all resources would be for repairing the surviving transport ships and weapons and armour. My sorcerer is made with possessed wings, mark of Nurgle shoulder pad and standard power sword and plasma pistol arm. But used the Raptors plasma pistol to make him different. Also used the Terminator Lord's loin cloth that looks like ragged flesh as I painted it in flesh tones.
Thanks for your help, going around trying to learn a bit more about the process of making a chapter to help with making my own (duh.) I'm trying to go heavy into details as I want to write short stories about them and hope to god they don't come off mary sue-ish. They likely will as there's a prominent feature of the chapter which basically makes them objectively better at fighting than all others. But I've tried to balance it out with the fact they get NO TERMINATORS or ARTIFACTS and have a stupidly high mortality rate, both initiates and full marines because of certain gene mutations for reasons I won't go into.
Still working on the loyalist half, which will be all primaris, but I have the traitor side done. My chaos space marines war band is "The Red Right Hand". They have predominantly black armor with red trim except the right arm which is red with black trim, with a stylized right hand print in red on the left pauldron as their warband symbol. The back story is they rebelled against the inclusion of primaris marines, executing them outright, as abominations. The Imperium then cast them out and they turned traitor and fell to chaos to survive the imperium's retribution. Ultimately joining the war master as part of the Black Legion
My chapter is the hummingbirds. They have teal power armour with gold and red accents and purple and blue shades. They’re from a forested feral world on the eastern fringe. They use jump troops, Phobos and plasma. The planet is full of bioluminescence plants and glowing crystals. The some humans of the planet exhibit eldar like mutations. Due to an accidentally triggered failsafe design to recreate the eldar genome in the event of a galaxy wide extinction on this maiden world.
I made a chapter loosely based on the Malazan Books of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. They are called (obviously to anyone who's read the books) The Bridge Burners and their founder Iskar Jarak, Whiskeyjack, used to be a captain in the Dark Angels successor chapter The Grim Claws. When he learned of The Big Secret he got into a fight with the chapter master and was demoted to a sergeant in the Scout company. He was sent on various suicide missions but refused to die until he was openly attacked by the command squads. He was saved by the Salamanders who ended up giving him everything needed to found his own chapter. In battle they are like the Salamanders in that they genuinely care for the Imperial citizens. They have a soldier culture and are less concerned with personal honour than many chapters. When they are promoted from the scout company they are given a nick name; Quick Ben, Mallet, Trotts and so on. I've been using Salamander rules for them but when the new codex comes out I will probably make my own rules and use them if my opponent agrees that it's fair.
For a half decent name, maybe one really showing off their melancholic purpose, "Primaris purgation protocol" for example, rather than "The Adjective Nouns"
This video inspired me to make my own chapter. Called Astral Scions Ultramarine successor chapter. However color scheme of being... Pink white. And even though it was meme at first. Yet now I have to say it's quite beautiful and awesome on itself
Doing a bit of a Rogue Trader revival going on, and I'm harkening back to when the Astartes were just mad mofos in power armor. Pulled a good bit from the Rogue Trader rule book, obviously, but got big into Necromunda recently, which got me thinking, and in turn got me writing. I came up with the Night Gaunts (Couldn't resist a Lovecraft reference) who, true to their names, like to give the impression of being faceless. Helmets don't come off when dealing with outsiders, vehicles are unadorned, they don't wear any sort of Chapter symbol or heraldry. The armor is solid purple, with black shoulder pads and gauntlets, with sergeants getting black helms as well, and Captains wearing full black. All bedecked with runes and sigils. (These are superstitious times...) They fly banners, but the banners are blank, all that differentiates each squad is a proverb written in the Dark Tongue of House Delaque. All of the marines are pulled from the House, and all keep two personal items throughout their lives, a Book of Names, and a Book of Knowledge. These are just trinkets for modeling purposes, but they'll likely have a true function later. They fight for the Imperium, but only insofar as they believe it'll prevent their hives from being overrun by xenos, and it'll put them in touch with the larger cosmos (Chapters have fleets at their disposal after all) but they are at their core still Delaque gangers. Got one squad together so far, 5th Squad of Epsilon Company. "The Vipers" (Each squad name is at least tangentally related to the number. I'm kinda working on that.) Their number includes Sergeant Tycho (who isn't the only sergeant, but holds rank because he's filled the most pages in his books) Sergeant Mordecai (Tycho's right hand), Sister Glass (She swears she should've been one of the Sororitas Priesthood, but they rejected her for reasons she'll change every time you ask, and she was shunted to the frontline as a result.) The twins Severine and Dominique Vance (Who Tycho insisted on recruiting himself, they fought with him in the hives and know their way around a flamer and a heavy bolter, respectively). Ridley is the resident wiseass. And there's the new kids, Gallagher, Harrel, Nelson, and Welsh (Who'll likely wind up dead.) They're a fun bunch so far. Gotta get the rest of the Chapter figured out at some point, and gotta get a pair of Dreadnoughts as well. Last note, they're expert city fighters, and know verticality is your friend, so all units are equipped with jump packs (Yes even the Dreads. That was and is a thing in RT rules. Shut up it's amazing.) Best bang for buck for a handful of models a buddy was looking to get rid of, and I couldn't fit 'em in anywhere (I play AdMech because ROBOTS!) And my uncle got me the RT book for my birthday, so... Yeah dunno what deal the man made with the Dark Gods to pull that off but... Awesome! Questions? Critiques? Recommendations?
My own homebrew chapter I got some resin Sci fi Samurai helmets and banners for the back packs called them the Legion of the Burning Sun Red, white and gold, made them CQC and flamer specialists and even gave them a motto Tenno heika, Banzai.
Currently working out a chapter descended from the salamanders im calling the emperors thumb, they focus of chaos cults and gene stealer culture and use gorilla tactics, yellow red and black armour with an unusual gene flaw, the flesh on the heads burns away leaving a skull covered in blood.
I too am using a Games Workshop chapter that has no history. In my case, The Angels of Iron. The crossed keys heraldry makes me think Vatican guard, and in turn, defenders and doctrine focused marines. Thus I made their progenitors the ol' Fists, and they are very few in number (a lot of these lore decisions I just rolled dice on and took from a list). They are very old school (love their venerable dreadnoughts) and secluded on a desert feral world (few, but hearty troops). I'm thinking due to their nigh endangered status, they will be very reliant on their first company (gotta get me some terminators), and get their ranks filled later by Primaris reinforcements.
My new Ultima Founding Primaris Chapter. Those destined to reinforce Chapters and whom were turned away and under a renegade Primaris Captain, now Chapter Master, assembled to form their own Chapter. Loyal to the Emperor, but sceptical of Roboute Guilliman (having not declared them under the Ultima Founding, they have amassed equipment from the Mechanicus and other Chapters. They shed colours of the Chapters they were destined for an rested on a minimalistic black armour with subtle red and gold highlights adorned with a red right knee, only to distinguish themselves as a stand alone Chapter. They became the Forgotton Sons.
I made a chaos army with copper and red, their story is they where under raid by Orks and lost leaving their ruined planet thinking "if only we had been more violent, more malicious, if only we had been more" Then they turned to Khorne, to reclaim their lost land.
I made a naval lander out of plasticard and thus the Angels Marines (Or the Imperial Aquamarines, I waver) were born. Colours, aquamarine, purple and sand. 3rd founding, white scar gene seed, made to clear water worlds of threats. Symbol is the Blood Angel's but the drop is blue and the wings sand coloured.
I was thinking of color schemes like, “yea, maybe my guys could have one arm different or standout, that sounds unique!” He then literally uses it as an example and I’m like “welp, I’m sticking with it”
Currently I'm trying to make a chapter of primaris to supliment my Deathwatch army I'm currently building, the basis is deathwatch like in that they come from many different places, it's been working out so far. Plus it's an excuse for me to get to paint all the different chapters I love without buying a whole other army
I've come up with a chapter called the 'sentinels of steel' They were created during the 40th millennium to aid the adeptus mechanichus in recovering and destroying powerful artefacts from areas full of heretics and daemons.
I've created my own chapter, mostly for use in the Deathwatch RPG, using the rules in Deathwatch to roll one up, which was actually a pretty fun process if only for some of the hilarity that can ensue when you start running a Deathwatch game alongside a Rogue Trader campaign and the characters start meeting and interacting with each other. Anyways, The Doom Paladins, a fleet based chapter after the destruction of their planet at the hands of Chaos and rogue elements of the PDF and Imperial Guard. Since that time they have converted a number of ships that they have been 'gifted' by the Imperial Navy during the evacuation efforts of their planet, into floating hive cities of a sort, from which they draw their recruits alongside the planets that they end up orbiting to refuel and restock on supplies that can't be found from the Arch Mechanicus that they have with them. (They've got deep ties to the Ad Mech, so yea, they got some crazy shit.) They are a Salamander Successor Chapter with a penchant for armored assaults.
I have tons of books and still haven't started collecting miniatures. BUT, I really want to create Hivefleet Krampus. Where the Tyranid models should be kitbashed to get extra horns, because Krampus obviously has horns. They would look rather demon-like.
I had an idea for the inglorious bastards theme. Complete with red white and blue armor and a Star of David on the pauldrons. Led by a jump Chaplin I called the "rocket rabbi"
At first i thought the primaris marine hunting chapter idea was kind of tacky, but then i thought about it a bit more. The imperium, and specifically guilliman, does not want chaos getting ahold of their newest weapon, so the hunting is less about "bringing them to justice" and more about damage control. That is definitely something you'd need a dedicated chapter for.
My Trap Nation is a successor legion of The Emperors Children that uses almost exclusively sound cannons and they have primarily black armor with bright purple highlights
After much brainstorming, I FINALLY have a good idea on my Chapter: The Prodigal Sons. Their color is a grey/green, and their symbol is a wolf crying blood. Officially, they're a successor of the Blood Angels, that, acter some unknown event, were exiled from the Sanguinary Brotherhood, and forced to essentially fend for themselves. They were notably extremely undermanned and under supplied for a good deal of their history. They'd gather men and supplies, only to waste it all on costly campaigns and crusades. This isn't helpes by the constant sabotage by the Inquisition, and the fact many more...zealous Chapter's flat out refuse to work with them. The truth is that they're not in any way related to Sanginius. Rather, they are the descendants of Loyalist Sons of Horus that stayed loyal. Following the end of the Heresy, due to a last request by Sanguinius himself, the Chapter had the truth of their lineage concealed, to protect them from execution. After languishing for ten thousand years, the Chapter received a second chance with the rise of Matthias Caecus, an Aspirant who would move to change the doctrine of the Chapter. Seeing they lacked the manpower for the classic frontal assaults of the Astartes, he instead studied the tactics laid out by the Raptors, and applied it to a more flexible fighting force. After this, the Chapter adopted tactics based on those developed during the 20th anc 21st Centuries, focusing heavily on well disicplined combined arms, with almost a complete lack of melee weapons. Tactical Squads are the center of the Chapter, being highly trained, and suited to nearly any type of mission. Defense, assault, sabotage, you name it. Though these squads often include other specialist units, such as Scouts or Devastators, as the need arises. The Asaault troops of the Chapter are wholly unique. Rather than the line breakers of other Chapters, the Prodigal Sons use Assault Squads in the same way the United States used paratroopers during WW2: having them droo behind enemy lines to harass the enemy, and cut off supply lines. Due to their general pragmatism, the Sons find it easy to incorporate themselves into Imperial Guard forces, and often supplement them. Many simply see themselves as another tool of the Imperium, no more or less important than their "lesser" comrades. This has earned the Chapter a good reputation with the Astra Militarum, one they lack with most other organizations in the Imperium.
Chapter name: Heralds of Infinity
Chapter motto: "To infinity and beyond!"
Chapter master: Buzz Lightyear
Moth Chan don't you mean primarch Buzz Lightyear XD
your going places mate
I pichet à lot or jump packs
Wouldn't the chapter name be better if they were the "Space Rangers"
a bit on the nose
"And who are you?"
"5th captain Julius Anteon"
"The one that took down a Tyranid Mawloc Single handedly?!"
"No. Different 5th captain, no relation."
🤣😂🤣
@@BIGPOPPAPUMP1775 This one took down a mouse

Xander H Hey. Not that bad actually
Worked for the Emperor's Children.
In addendum, I'd say Kiri would be the first to say you should ignore his advice if you disagree with it... 😜
You do you
DrawnSteelHero yeah it “worked”
Then suddenly *Pink*
My chapter is called Adjective Noun.
SuperSalt Lee nice
Grammar marines
What is the Adjective Nouns' stance on the Oxford Comma?
@@NathanDrennan The Adjective Nouns' find a sense of finality with its use as they often have many thanks and prayers to the Emperor in which they call out in battle.
Mine is Noun describing relationship Of Planet name
I recently started Warhammer and wanted to play IG
Unfortunately I got Space marines for my birthday. So, not wanting to waste the space marine kits I decided to make the Revenants of Cadia
Their paint job is pretty much the Cadian green camouflage.
Their Chapter Master is known as the Amnesiac
He lost his memory of who he was when a rhino exploded. The blast knocked him backwards and he hit the back of his head on a wall.
Feel free to tell me how I've broken the lore. Just don't hate on me too much
Oh... oh no fan fic
I actually really like that! Thats a cool idea
This is bloody epic, and not far fetched either given that some Astartes like Salamanders value human life a lot, and would honour them in such a way.
I would love being able to use an excuse like "It looks like a Leman Russ, but it's a Baneblade" as a Guard Player, saves you a lot of Monies.
I used to play normal warhammer as an ogre kingdom player, we used to use models to represent hero units...it didn't work too well.
But you do miss out on painting a Baneblade, it's a nice kit!
There's been a plastic Baneblade for years.
Well i bought mine and the Shadowsword in the very early 2000's so i guess that is progress.
Pretty sick
Bro, i thought about the same thing!
Only the names and colors differ…
Mine are specialists in artillery barrages and nukes, and are called “The last Warlords”
They are green, white and a bit of blue on the tatoos
They have a feral homeworld
My Chapter is called "Mercury Trident" one of Loyalist Chapter & they was a "Fleed Base Chapter"

Right now, converting a Chaplain for my vaguely M*A*S*H themed Chapter, who goes into battle with a power swizzle stick and wearing a Hawaiian cape.
That's going to be a bitch to paint.
I _so_ wanna see that. :D
Derpimus Maximus post pictures after you've painted them
This is fucking genius hahahah
D Boussios did someone say Greek?
Dope
D Boussios why not use the delta symbol like the spartans? ^
Maybe a Trireme to be a reference to their journey.
for my chaos marines chapter i play my "angels of pestilence" they are dark angels that fell to nurgle when the dark angels homeworld was destroyed and they have been "blessed" with what i call nurgles caress. the marines have long maggots growing out of their bodies and packs some are so corrupted by the worms that some limbs have been completely replaced by long segmented worm legs and arms. and my custom demon prince is named "lord of worms" and he carries a large plague canister filled with the worms so he can spread "nurgles caress" . instead of having a demon face it has a set of rusted skulls with a long bladed tongue whipping out of the far left skull.
I feel as though you are speaking of a different chapter as we all know that the dark angels have never fallen and have always been completely loyal to the emperor.
there is the fallen who became renegade and went into hiding and the dark angels hunt them down wherever they pop up, however cypher is carrying the sword of lion el johnson to the seat of the emperor so he can lay claim that the fallen are still loyal. and absolve them of any crime.
mine specifically pledged themselves to nurgle to escape death. my marines use black tan armor with nurgles mark and the worms or in special cases "hq" they use black gold, silver and tan along with the sickly green/blue worm. the demon prince is black tan with pale pink and purple worms.
you obviously completely missed the joke, he knew about the Fallen, he was making fun of how the Dark Angels basically hunt down and kill anyone who isn't a upper echelon Dark Angel that finds out about them.
whooosh
Ramshackle gross
They also love chainscythes.
chapter master is Mikeal Rex
scouts earn the rank of marine by diving into the deepest and darkest of hive cities and returning with dead mutants and heretics.
the chapter was nearly decimated but are being reinforced with new primaris marines which i am actually painting myself!
How would you get chainscythes though. That seems like it would be hard to make and the only scythes you can buy are powerscythes. Very cool idea though.
I just kitbash chaos chainswords with grey knight halberds and just counts as for chainsword.
Never thought of that, good idea. There are also chainglaives from forgeworld that you could use the blades of, although you would have to cut off the handles.
Ohhhh....... oh no this community has hit the point of oc`s
M4K3R OCs... Original characters? Just trying to suss out what your point is.
My own chaper, would love feed back.
3rd founding successor chapter of the blood Angels.
Current Name: Rage Bare'rs
Former name: blood bare'rs
Chapter status: thought to be rogue/traitor whilst actually being loyalist. (read on to find out why)
Chapter master: Kazerdon
Style of fighting/doctrine: heavily melee focused, little heavy weapons and barely any vehicles.
War cry: "blood for the emperor" but mostly incoherent screams and snarls
Stroy so far.
A transmission came through "permission to make plant fall."
The blood bare'rs had returned from there crusade in they're founding chapters time of need.
"Kazerdon, it is good to see your still alive."
"How many men did you bring"
Dante remarks.
"200."
"Thats all we have left."
Kazerdon replies
In the ensuing battle as we obviously know millions died. The rage bare'rs flag ship the Eternal Rage was fitted and packed with nuclear weapons and explosive ordinances. By order of Kazerdon as the chances of any of the 200 surviving the battle was very slim. It was driven in a suicide attack by captain Hengval, who was being kept alive by a built in life support system abord the ships bridge. into one of the many hive ships as Baal was being attacked
After the battle only 23 rage bare'rs survived. Kazerdon whilst being wounded, survived and claimed many trophies in the god emperors name.
Hope you enjoyed.
I took a while to type all this out so feed back would be appreciated and anything you'd like to add to the story/chapter feel free.
Thanks :)
James Harden very epic 420/69 would rate again

LOVE IT!
The detailed history for this chapter is fantastic! I love the idea of a loyalist chapter with the appearance of chaos marines.
Not baddd...

Kiri your Primaris Chapter will be wearing the Colours of the Dusk Raiders (The Pre-Unification Death Guard).
TheBloodyBan You are not wrong! I forgot they had one arm red, thought it was both!
Those marines became the first part of my army.
geoffhirst13 So basically they recruit from failed morale rolls. Cool.
"The imperium don't know what the fuck is going on anyway " lol lol 😂
Great vid Kirioth, to this day i find it funny how many people just have an army of ultrasmurfs or another first founding chapter when making up your own is so fun and interesting.
My personal idea were "The Watchers in the Dark"
They were the originally the 6th company of the Night Lords but when Konrad Curze realised that he had become the thing he hated the most, he ordered their captain to leave Tsalguasa with his company and attempt to atone for their crimes. They are not loyal to the Emperor but instead fight for humanity as a whole, operating around the area of the Screaming Vortex.
Connor Forsyth The watchers in the dark are small cherub like shrouded things which patrol the rock(Dark angel homeworld)
Sounds amazing

*Forge Guard*
Successor chapter of the Salamanders.
RokuroCarisu I bloody love it! I've been waiting for a dwarf inspired chapter for awhile, glad i found one!
Oh......... oh no....this community has hit the point of oc`s
Go 7th Armored!
The Dale Wardens Rommel S2
Kirioth, can you do a showcase when you get your army painted?
About two decades back I converted and painted an entire army for a guy in colors based off the Miami Dolphins.
They were the Aqua Marines (an Ultra Marine splinter-group that apparently discovered green) with armor converted to serve primarily in underwater fighting. Beaky helms, tanks on their back packs, and lots of tubing everywhere.
Led by their Chapter Master Francis "The Don" Shulia
And the Captain Daniel Marinos.
Was fun-ish.
3:35 I heard that as "They are descended from Yorkshire Marines". Perfect mental image.
The Repenters
A renegade chapter of Space marines who are made up entirely of Former traitor Marines, who became disillusioned with Chaos and abandoned their legions, seeking redemption.
Do you use Chaos figures? I like the idea of a mixed batch of chaos figures painted to match.
Never made a space marine chapter, but have toyed around with the lost legions... The 2nd and the 11th, the Void Wardens and the Anarchich Lords
Future custom chapter:
Name: wastelords
Attack style and stuff: they overwhelm their enemies with gigantic force of infantry backed up with air force
Stuff: founders of the thousand suns
Background: after the thousand sons joined Horus in Horus heresy, many rebelled and escaped and formed the wastelords and joined the forces of the emperor.
Primarch: unknown
Color scheme: brass and silver with accents of green
I made a chapter known as the Shinigami, they are grey with black trims and red helmets, the only exception being the chapter master whose helmet is golden. They use ambush tactics primarily and they play as ultramarines
I'd say the best place to start is look for inspiration of something you want for you're chapter. Could be a symbol, a slogan, tactic, color, name, study, literally anything. With an anchoring point, just build around that inspiration and you don't have to have you're army fleshed out all at once, they can grow and change.
my friend made a chapter with the Emperors children colour scheme
Bruno Ivanković BURNNNN HERETIC!!!!!!
loyalist elements after heresy that made themselfs a chapter
Purple makes the world go round.
Only if they have a little bit of gold on them.
It's a good colour scheme.
Chapter name: The siege lords
Chapter-master: Ares
Color scheme: black gold and yellow
Founding: ultima
Successors of: iron warriors
Tactics: siege, assault, and fortify.
"Followers" might be pretty fitting given your description. :)
Also, hi from four years in the future...
Extremely helpful vid for a new player. 10/10
I did my own chapter called Astral phantoms, veteran company had Dark Angel hooded models. Colour scheme was magenta & goblin Green well a real pale version of it. One pad was midnight blue which had the chapter Icon on. I used to love the old chapter traits.
The purple and gold chapter exists and is a successor chapter of the ultramarines which I'm doing, called Hawk Lords
That’s a really cool idea.
The left hand is the hand of punishment or vengeance, hence, a deep red left arm indicates that they are executioners of the throne's justice on traitors.
Also mate possible name suggestion:
"Iron Judges/Judicators"
The "iron" part of the name for the iron warriors influence and then i just thought that judges would sound interesting for some kind of name that represents their purpose for hunting traitors.
Cheers mate, feel free to steal the name lol
Chapter name: the righteous sin
Motto: write our cause, for you shall not live to tell you kin!
Chapter master: prime acropolite lord yen tenkai
The Silent Choir, created from the gene-seed of one of the lost chapters of the Abyssal Crusade, they guard planets on the rim of The Screaming Vortex, acting as an additional defense against both Daemonic incursion and Rak’gol invasion.
Bravo !!! I Had done something similar with my Rogue Company of Blood Angels. I Loved Customizing
Thier Armor with xtra parts from the kits, so fallen comrades pcs of armor, say crests and fancy armor plates, were awarded for valor. Made for an Awsome Looking Company.
I called them a Rogue Company
That had fought beside the Ultra Marines Crusade against th Tyranids
Long ago. The Company was known for appearing at " Last Stands" of
isolated elements of Marine Chapters units...... And " Saving the day " with mass multi - Marine platoons charging with Large
Gunlines backed by all matter of Hvy Wpns Marines ......." Then retiring
Back to the unknown stars systems
from wense they came.
Was always Fun.
Later health issues and bills forced me to part with them.......my hands no longer able to assemble or paint, n my head no longer able to
" Crunch th numbers "in a game
😂(lol) i have started attempts at
builing th armor kits.
I enjoy your site and many others
On Marines. Keep up the good work
😁👍 ✊😠
You don't even have to have a chapter that is descended from another. You could always use the 2nd and 11th legions as the basis of your first founding chapter since their records have been lost. This way you could add even more stuff like creating the primarch and fitting them into events of the Horus Heresy. There's so many possibilities when it comes to lore.
I watching this now as I'm making my first true homebrew army. not just being a light conversion of a current one. a it helps.
Some good food for thought. That one arm random colour thing is popular, always thought his was busted, looted a body for a replacement. Lol
You are probably not gonna see this, but SUGGESTION: Red-Handed Reapers
Called Astral Scions
Ultramarine successor chapter.
My chapter will squish Their enemies under an entire herd of razorbacks. They are called the Tin Lords.
I made a chaos army with copper and red, their story is they where under raid by Orks and lost leaving their ruined planet thinking "if only we had been more violent, more malicious, if only we had been more"
Then they turned to Khorne, to reclaim their lost land.
I've come up with a chapter called the 'sentinels of steel'
They were created during the 40th millennium to aid the adeptus mechanichus in recovering and destroying powerful artefacts from areas full of heretics and daemons.
The brotherhood of doom.
Tagline: the slayers wrath.
Motto: rip and tear.
