David Banner needs to take two seats and just relax for a while he has a temper problem. Yes this world is frustrating we are dealing with a lot but you can't use violence to solve all your problems. I have this overwhelming feeling of regret that black people wasted so much time with these issues. This has been going on forever. I mean, everybody saw it happen on camera in the 90's with Rodney King. We should've been working on this type of organization stuff since that shit happened. Now all I keep hearing is how much we don't have and still need to establish... Things and institutions that we should've BEEN established since the Voting Rights Act. We lost some serious momentum after that generation. We're behind as fuck. Like damn...Where did the time go? I guess this is what happens when you get distracted though. I desperately hope we don't give up and get distracted this time. Fuck Pokemon Go, fuck Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, fuck new mixtapes, fuck Scandal, fuck fashion and shoes, and fuck any other trends going on at the moment. We cannot afford to fuck up this time. 😩
And BTW, I'm not disregarding racism and government manipulation of the Black community for the past 50+ years. I know how that would've made things extremely difficult for us to accomplish for our community. However, statistics show that black people were actually better off in several factors in the previous few decades than we are now...This is especially true when you factor in the years before the encarceration impact of the Clinton administration. So it does kinda behuve me as to how we didn't seem to see the urgensy of our condition before BLM. I guess before the internet and the age of information we couldn't really see the big picture.

One of the problems is this current generation. Their arrogant, emotional, and entitled and impulsive, they seem to have a rebellion complex as a whole thats destroying society, white and black. They also on the flipside have a victim complex too, scapegoating almost any fuckin thing to justify their feelings.
Second is the media. You have likely heard the now infamous saying "Journalism is dead" Sensationalism and even creating fake stories(Like the New York Times rape story) is the new trend that major media follows and thats destroying relations.
Thirdly. Government transparency. They just passed a provision in the NDAA bill that pretty much allows the military to lie and manipulate public opinion from the truth of foreign conflicts at the local media level. They also passed a bill allowing military force to used on civilians and control all resources in times of war AND.peace.....by the way, your boy Obama signed these into law.

David Banner, is an very articulate man who I feel is driven by passion. He really do speak with poise and purpose. I don't think he was all wrong also, I don't think Lyfe was wrong on his stance. I feel it's only a matter of perspective. I'm sure David wasn't advocating on going on a killing rampage like people or the media was trying to spin it! But, rather protect and arm yourself from it's "either you or me" mind mentality. I honestly can see the point of view of both of these brothers.

I like the idea of arming yourself in theory but when you get pulled over what do you do? pull out your gun? if the cop has his fun drawn he is going to try to disarm you if you resist hel'll just shoot you and the system will call it justified. now if they do like the panthers did and have a group of armed men patrolling the police then that's different if it's open carry you arent the suspect just an armed bystander

At this point, I agree with both. Life is being realistic and saying picking up a gun will make it worse=true....But, David had a point about fighting back because we will not be respected if we don't, people respect fear. I think if we put the two together we should hurt them financially by boycotting stores, athletic events and not buying expensive items.

The problems in our community are much deeper in 2016 than police killing our people. What about the many fatherless homes we have, or the increase of grandmothers in their 30's? What about the drugs that are running rampant through our communities? What about the violence between our people? Where are our children that are getting serious about education? I don't care what goes on in anyone else's community, I want us to get our ish straight. If we can't value our own lives, our children/families/future, why in the hell would anyone else? Yes, we have a right to bear arms. We have a right to protect ourselves, but why is it we only come together in times like this? I love when we come together to fight oppression, but when are we going to stop fighting each other? Even if our men and women could walk down the street and not be a target to law enforcement, we still run the risk of being targets to each other. How do we solve that?

I know how families were ripped apart in Slavery times. With that said, when are we going to realize that we are keeping ourselves shackled in our minds with the things we are DECIDING to do today? +Carla Harris growing up my parents would always say that you are the people you hang around. I agree that when you understand where your problems are coming from, you must stay away. Investing in black banks, in my opinion, isn't a bad thing. We have to ensure that these banks stay true and expose the fraud in them when we learn of it. Honestly, it's no different from the other larger "whiter" banks out there. There is corruption everywhere, but in our community we need to learn to call it out for what it is and not get mad when the truth is exposed. Same for HBCU's. We can't allow these schools to be run into the ground. We have to call out and expose the corruption and be willing to fix what has happened to restore their value.

They went to a private own warehouse and start to fill out application that was given to them by one of the lady's at the front desk. So they decided to sit in the facility to fill out their apps. One of the supervisor of the plant came and told them they didn't have to finish filling out the apps, and asked them to hand the apps to him. They did as he asked, and what the man did was rip the apps up in front of them and threw them in the trash. A person cannot get a job if they cannot get hired. Most businesses in areas are white own, that do not have nothing to do with being lazy. But I do apology for jumping the gun and assuming.

I feel like what David Banner was trying to get at was what Malcolm X and the Black Panthers were trying to teach. Arm ourselves for protection. Only be violent when necessary. Now, idk how effective that'll be now since Philando and Alton were both armed but not having their weapons drawn yet they were killed anyway. It's just annoying that people like to twist words around when some militant black people say that we need to arm ourselves but the other side says that we can't fight violence with violence (which I think is even worse, imo) when sometimes violence gets the message across.

I haven't even finished the video. But I just have to say this. This wasn't a fight, it was a heated debate. Next both these guys opinions hold merit. Banner isn't saying get guns to go after the police. He's saying get one to protect yourself and family. Just like police officers do. They have the right to kill someone if they fear for their lives. Those same rights also apply to the citizens. If they feel their lives are in danger and fear for their lives by the police. They have the right to defend themselves. By any means necessary. Police or not. If those rules don't apply to the police. That just shows they're above the law and can do as they please. Because it's ok for police to kill in self defense, But we can't kill a police officer when it's self defense. Even if we fear for our lives.
I understand from David Banner and Lyfe on both sides but at the end of the day we still have a long way to go.

Town Hall meetings are typically for the local residents. The celebrity element made the event more sensational than it needed to be.

Keeping our integrity is a must is what I believe Jennings is passionately expressing. Hopefully Banner was trying to passionately express the importance of us arming ourselves with wisdom and knowledge to fight with as King taught us. Be a glorious blessing of todays matter, not more of a curse.

I'm learning so much about this code hands on because from school and work I'm dealing with racism. this code way of racism is a loop hole to get away with racism because by law you have to prove it, but you can't. so it makes it completely legal to be racism this way.

I think they both present valid points. I see nothing wrong with arming yourself in the event it is needed for protection, however it is completely insane to think that taking the fight to police is a solution to the problem. As a people, Blacks have ALL of what's needed to develop thriving communities. There are just as many AfAm doctors, lawyers, politicians, engineers, scientists, creatives, etc., who can provide the wisdom and knowledge needed to lay the foundation. The question is as Banner presented, who is willing to sever ties with our oppressors and sacrifice what is needed to pull this all together. There is always some chaos before order, so arguments are to be expected. Building OUR OWN is so crucial right now, and this "war" is a distraction to keep us off task. I partially agree with Banner. I think everyone has the right to arm and DEFEND themselves, but no one has the right to go out and attack police or anyone just because they're angry. David Banner should go to jail for inciting violence.

We are in some dangerous days. And if a celebrity makes a statement instructing people to arm themselves, Hell yeah the media will play that on a loop until the next thing happens. Makes them feel better about what has and is happening.

Media loves to portray drama and violence because people feed into it. All the focus on the negativity makes me sick, ESPECIALLY if the focus portrays a whole other kind of situation that wasn't intended to be.
Don't go tell people to go do things that you won't do yourself.
The media did the same thing at the 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March. They were there the whole time...but did not cover it because it was peaceful and positive.

You should always record/capture your own events. Having your own videographer, photographers etc. is vital.

David Banner is saying that Black Folks need to be able and willing to defend themselves and not just lay down and die. How is that violent??? We're being killed with or without weapons. Whether we are breaking or obeying the law. How is he being fake?? People speak on people without even knowing them.
